SW changing flights question

I'm trying to change our flights home to an earlier flight time. When I checked the flights today there was an earlier time that shows as $120 which is close to what we paid for our original flights. However, when I log into my SW account and go to change flights - the price comes up as $146 and if I log out and pull up flights it goes back to $120. Is this normal for SW? I was hoping to switch to an earlier flight without having to pay a ton of money.

It could be a combination of things. Are you looking at the same number of tickets at the $120 price. There might not be enough at that rate. Do you have multiple credits? You can only use 2 or 3 credits as payment methods. The way to get around either is separating the reservations to multiple confirmation numbers.

Like PP stated there may not be enough seats at that lower price. Call SWA and have them make the change that way you can at least get one ticket at the lower price and the other at the higher price.

That is what happened to me & when I called they said there was only 1 seat left at the lower price.
