The membership fee is $99/year but I thought it was waved the first year?????

I got the CC two weeks ago and within a week a $99 membership fee is showing up.

Is it not waived for the first year????

Thanks,

Dawn

nope, not waived, but once you start to redeem those wonderful points you will be so thrilled that all that airfare is costing you approx. 99.00:cool1: totally a great value!

I just got the card in the middle of June. The $99 fee did show up, but so did the 50,000 points. We received the points as soon as the statement was generated online, and that was before I made a payment on the card.

Mine says 50K points after I spend $2,000.

I did spend that amount. but the points were there 3 weeks ago and I paid the bill yesterday. I'm surprised they gave me the points before I paid anything on the card.

The points get sent over from SW visa to your RR Acct right after your statement closes each month. You get the points based on what you spent, not your payment.

Just so everyone knows there's another card they offer that's only $69/yr IIRC. It doesn't earn as much points and you get a smaller bonus on your anniversary. If you keep scrolling down you'll see it.

Also the fee shouldn't increase over the years. I signed up when it was still $59/yr and that hasn't increased but it did for newcomers.

The 50,000 points got me 2 RT tickets from Portland, Oregon to Orlando and 1 RT ticket from Seattle to Phoenix and I still had some miles left, pretty good (no, great) value for $99. I can't imagine a better deal out there!

I agree...I signed up in January for the card with the $69 fee and got 50,000 bonus points. I was able to book 2 R/T tickets GRR-MCO for DH and I for less than 19,000 points:yay:. I have enough points now for our family of 4 to fly next year too:cheer2:. So we are basically getting 6 R/T tickets for $99...the $69 fee + $5/ticket in fees...can't beat that:dance3:.
