SW 40% bonus points- transfer/buy/gift

Southwest is running a "sale" of sorts. If you buy, transfer, or gift points, you get 40% more points. Has anyone done this, and if so, how does it work? Is there a time limit on using the points, a limit on how many you can transfer, or a transfer fee, or anything like that? We could earn some big points if I transfer my points to DH's account.

There is a transfer fee of 10.00 per thousand points, the minimum transfer is 2000 points, so minimum fee is 20.00. I believe the same use rules apply, as within a RR points.
