SW- 1 or 2 days

we are planning a trip down to orlando in june. we are definitely doing disney as that is my primary reason for going. i am tossing around the idea of going to sea world too. i have never been and really want to go. i know i have to take things kind of slow and i know we can't really see many of the shows but i would like to try to see some. i will have my 9 yr old nephew and my DS. DS will be 12 when we go. he has aspergers syndrome (a high functioning form of autism). so i know about our limitations. this is not his first trip to disney but will be his first to sea world. and suggestions? and plan one or two days?

My only visit was during January when the park was open from 9am - 6pm and crowds were light. We visited on Thursday and Friday to see everything once, and we returned on Sunday to experience our favorite attractions again. When I visit a park, I like to experience everything and I don't like to rush. I hope this helps.

I'd say with most parks, and even large zoos two days would be best. But if you are going for WDW then you may not want to spend two days at SW. I know we never went before because we didn't have time with Disney and Disney took priority for us.
We are leaving in 14 days for Disney again, but decided to add in two days at SW this time. I have read a lot of books on Orlando and SW and they say two days is best, some say 1 and a half is good.
I would just say it all depends on your plan. If you have two days then def. go two days. The second day is free you know
If you only have one SW is the kind of park that you can enjoy and see a lot of in one day too so that works also.

When I went to SeaWorld last time - maybe 8 years ago - we could do it in a day easy.

This next trip, I'm planning on 2 days. I figure if we skip the rides (kids aren't big on roller coaster type rides), we'll be able to see our favorite things more than once.

9am to 3pm
we did one day, and saw maybe half the place.
if you are going back in a year or so, then you could do 1 day but if you have time, take two days.

I say one full day should be fine. I enjoyed SW but couldn't see going back for a second day in a row.

Two days without doubt - you could fill one day just seeing the shows. That doesn't give you much time for looking at all the animals or riding the rides.
I found seaworld to be much more relaxing than Disney which might mean your DS would find it less hectic too - two days away from Disney could be a good thing.

As for suggestions for things to do and how you could fill 2 days:

Day 1:
Dolphin feeding at Dolphin Cove - go there first thing when the dolphins are hungry.
Underwater dolphin viewing
Stingray Lagoon to feed the stingrays
Blue Horizons show
Lunch
Some kind of tour - we did the dolphin nursery but they do others as well.
Journey to Atlantis
Penguin Encounter
Manatee Rescue
Clyde and Seamore take Pirate Island

Day 2:
Shark encounter
Skytower
Pacific Point preserve - feed the sealions/seals
Believe
Lunch
Underwater Orca viewing
Wild Arctic
Shamus happy harbour - don't know if your DS / nephew would be too old?
Kraken - or maybe too young?
Pets Ahoy
Revisit your favourites...

We also did Dine with Shamu which was great and you get really close to the Killer Whales.
