I am going to the world on OCT 4th--OCT 11th . I will attend MNSSHP and am going solo. I have never gone solo to WDW but have taken a few to the beach. Absolutely loooved it. Suzie would not approve how I am paying for this but I might croak before I retire. So here I come.

:yay::woohoo: yea.. hope to meet ya that week..:thumbsup2

woohoo hello fellow Solo/Adult Octoberian... Oct 2nd to 12th.... Hope to see you in some of the planned meet...

:goodvibes

I used to work for CNBC...She is mean and rotten and I would never take her advice. :)

I prefer Dave Ramsey...though if Suze wouldn't approve, then I'm sure Dave wouldn't approve either. ;)

Have fun--I leave in 32 days!! :cool1:

I too am going solo to Orlando Oct7th-11th, but hitting Halloween Horror Nights at Universal instead.

Have fun!!

I've been having to chase down my poor little CC lately, it's not been a happy camper. It's not used to this sort of workout, I'm usually fairly frugal. Heck with it, Sept 25 - Oct 7 I'm not going to stress. Well, unless CSR closes their gym.

G1 !!! Dont worry.. if it closes.. then you can use the one SSR.. you will just have to be DFD for the time being!!! Hopefully by the time we all get there you still have energy to hang out with us :grouphug: !!!

:thumbsup2:thumbsup2 Good for you. :thumbsup2:thumbsup2
Since she is so much better than me, I don't listen to her anyway. By the way-I have lost way more money in the stock market than I ever lost by early withdrawal.

Have a great trip.:goodvibes

Just saw this post - I think you're terrific!! Being at WDW improves your mood, gives you energy, makes you more productive in your "other" life -- hence, you could end up getting a raise, starting a new business, winning the lottery --WHO KNOWS!!! WDW is a $$maker - (or at least that's what I tell myself...) HAH!! :rotfl::rotfl:

GO FOR IT!! Have fun!!:banana::banana:

Who is this Suzie Orman and why wouldn't she approve?

:confused3

I am doing a solo trip 21st September for 14 nights.

Paula -

Susie Orman is an American financial advisor who has written books and does call-in TV shows where people call and explain their financial dilemmas. Her mantra is: cut up your credit cards! Pay off your cards NOW and don't use them again. Or something similar to that. She's a big proponent of being debt-free. So obviously, the OP is putting this whole solo trip on her Visa.

Califlady: I think you are thinking of Dave Ramsey--he is a proponent of absolutely no debt and don't use credit cards at all, etc.

Suze is less intense--'good' debt is OK, keep up your FICO score (who she's in bed with, so to speak), credit cards are OK but pay them down.

I suspect from the OP's comments that she is cashing out her 401K to go to WDW, of which neither Suze nor Dave would approve.

I couldn't resist. Scary...isn't it?

In all seriousness, Suze can have some good advice, but usually seems wrapped too tightly and goes overboard with her figures. I know people who are retired very comfortably, yet according to Suze, shouldn't even have enough $$$ to do so. :confused3 She seems like a nice enough lady that means well & all, but if we pinch all our pennies until we're practically dead...what's the point?

Go and have a great solo trip in October! You'll be glad you did.

$85,000?!?!??! In the words of Suze Orman, "Are you KIDDING me?!" Did anyone see this episode? How does one even spend $85,000 in Disney without throwing buckets filled with cash into the stream by Cinderella's castle? :scared1:

I LOVE Suze Orman. Her Suze smackdowns are the best.

My only one complaint is she says to people, "Either you spend less, or you need to make more money." I wish it were easy to 'just' make more money!
