Sushi on DDP

Question... We will be on the Dining Plan during our trip and we love sushi. Is there anywhere you can get sushi while using the DDP? On a lot of the menus it seems like sushi is listed as an appetizer or under it's own section on the menus and it's my understanding that the DDP only includes "entrees"... Is there any way to get sushi by using a meal credit anywhere?

Tokyo Dining will serve sushi as part of a meal platter (you can't use DDP to order off the sushi roll/piece menu though).

It's been a while since we went, but California Grill allowed a sushi roll as an entree, but even back then it was not a good use of dining credits since CG is a signature restaurant.

Thanks, I'll look into it!

Yeah, I probably wouldn't do that there since it would cost me 2 credits for a sushi roll which would be a waste! I'm considering doing brunch there though and from what I hear there's sushi on the buffet part of the brunch so maybe that would work!

I see there are some QS spots that have rolls, can you use a QS credit and get sushi at those places? Starring Rolls for example?

I had sushi at Tokyo Dining a couple of years ago and it was great. It came as a platter and was included on the DDP.
This past January I also had sushi as a snack on the DDP from Katsura Grill. It was pretty good! Certainly worth a snack credit.
I know Morimoto's is also on the DDP now but I don't know how that works with sushi as an entree.

I'll definitely look into Tokyo Dining and Katsura Grill! Thanks!

Bummer :( Back to plan A... I think we'll just do dinner at the Kona Sushi bar one night and pay OOP for that one. Any reviews on their sushi?
If you're going to go OOP on sushi, the best place I've seen reviews for on sushi is the place at the swan and splittsville (no joke, the bowling alley at disney springs). The place at the swan (kimono's maybe?) does not take DDP at all, splittsville does but I am not sure if sushi qualifies as an entree and it's not a great use of a credit even if so.

I have read good things about the Sushi at the swan as well, unfortunately not sure if we'll make it over there since we will be relying on Disney transportation. Thanks for the tips, maybe we'll grab some when we are at Disney Springs!

it is on the resort boat that runs between HS and Epcot so you could conceivably take the boat (or even walk) over there from either of those parks if you want sushi on a day when you are going there. If you want to take bus directly back to your resort it would be easier to do it from HS than from Epcot since there are no buses at the international gateway side of epcot, but at HS it drops you off where all of the transportation is.

Tokyo Dining is pretty equivalent to the sushi places what most people may have locally in their towns. Not bad (we often eat there), but nothing exceptional either.

Kimonos at the Swan and Dolphin is definitely a cut above.

Thank you... maybe we will need to try and make it over there then!

My brother in law really liked the sushi he had for lunch for a QS credit at Starring Rolls.

Another vote for Tokyo Dining. It was presented beautifully and was delicious. Service was wonderful and we left full. We thought it was an excellent use of one table service dining credits especially for the big amount and variety of sushi!

I know that no one normally thinks of sushi at a bowling alley. But the sushi at Splittsville is fantastic! My friend and I having a standing sushi date there once a month :)
