Please someone tell me where I can find some sushi at Disney.

The best place is the California Grill. I also like Kimono's at the Swan. Tempura Kiku at the Japanese pavilion is also pretty good. I may be in the minority, but I wasn't impressed with Wolfgang Puck's at DTD West Side.

We are staying at the Swan. I will remember that.

The Spicy Sushi at California Grill is the yummiest thing EVER!

Do you think you could stop by for sushi and a drink and have to wait a long time. Or should I try to call and get a reservation? I know my kids will not want to eat here but I would not mind going down and sitting at the bar if they have one and having sushi and a drink.

Kimonos is my favorite. They don't take ressies, walking in is fine. It's a bar type atmosphere. CG also has wonderful sushi. Walking in is more difficult. It's really a stroke of luck in my experience to walk in, have a drink & some sushi there. MatsaNoMa Lounge is decent, depending on what time you want to pop in you may or may not wait. No ressies are taken at MatsaNoMa/ Tempura Kiku.

Try the Snake in the Grass at the California Grill!!!! It is the best!!!!!!!!

I'd get a ressie. This place stays pretty busy. They do serve you in the lounge (from the sushi menu or appetizer from the main menu) but the lounge is often overrun with patrons waiting on their table.

Leoto said they do not take ressies. I will call though.

I think you misunderstood me - CG takes ressies & they are necessary in my experience.
Kimonos & MatsaNoMa/Tempura Kiku do not take ressies.
I'm sorry if my post was misleading.

No I totally understood you. I meant Kimonos not CG. I guess it is me who is not being clear. lol

Another :thumbsup2 for Kimono's! The wait times can vary a lot, depending on what time you get there, day of the week, and what's going on at S/D at the time (lots of companies seem to schedule meetings/conventions there, or at least their employees seem to stay there). Also, unless they've remodeled, I remember the sushi bar area as being a bit small. :confused3

I loved the sushi at WP at DTD across from Virgin. I sat at the bar and enjoyed sushi and some Japanese beers on tap :teeth: :earsboy:

I wasn't too crazy for WP, when we went. I am not sure what I ordered, I guess you can tell that is how memorable it was.

Glad I found this thread. I have never tried sushi, but I'd really love to! Is Disney a good place to try it for the first time? And if so, where would you suggest? I guess a place with a good selection and some "basics" to try, if that makes any sense. :teeth:

Kimonos at the Swan. You can order a la carte there.

I just recently posted this blurb on how I worked my way up to sushi which may or may not be helpful to you as a newbie to the Joys of Sushi/Sashimi:

If you are new to sushi, there are several cooked ones you can try. There are cooked shrimp, california rolls, sweet egg, vegetarian.... Ask your server. Once you feel ready to try raw (and I Highly suggest you do, it's delicious) Try starting out with the raw salmon. It's so mild, it's like butter. Not a hint fishy. I would say the next mildest sashimi to be tuna or white tuna (not fatty tuna tho, that has a stronger flavor). From there, Yellowtail is very nice, with a sweet, unique flavor.

I have to warn you, sushi/sashimi can be VERY addicting. I was nervous about trying it & couldn't do raw for along time due to medical issues. But, once I did & I worked my way up just the way I suggested to you, I am completely hooked. I crave it now. It's very good for you too.

I have heard that there are California rolls at the Sunshine Seasons. Does anyone if these are good?

I agree! We had this last Sept. and it's the main reason we are returning there in about 2 weeks. I could make a meal out of this alone! :goodvibes
