I will be at the world Sept 19-22. I would like to have sushi for dinner one night as I will be there solo. I am on the DDP. Should I use to TS and go to California Grill or go to Wolfgang Pucks? I will be touring SSR as we have just bought in and I have not seen the resort from the inside.

The sushi at CG is FABULOUS!
Cheers!

The sushi at CG is better than Pucks in my opinion. Also, when we were at Pucks on DDP last year, even one roll would count as your entree. We were told the sushi combo was not part of their DDP offerings.

Now, to really confuse you, if you are looking for a straight up sushi dinner, I would pay out of pocket & go to Kimonos at the Swan. Awesome sushi.

:thumbsup2 Second that!

Never tried Kimonos but glad to hear the review! If you have a car, I liked the sushi place in Celebration!

Can't remember the name but you can google it.

It wasn't for dinner, but I sat at the bar at WP and had sushi and some Japanese beers on tap. Nice :thumbsup2 :earsboy:

Has anyone tried the sushi at Tempura Kiku? We're thinking about eating there but only if the sushi is good! lol

It's decent, not bad, but not WOW. It is in a theme park & does high volume - given that, it's pretty good. Sometimes the rolls seem "pre-made", a little dried out. We still eat lunch there alot tho & it is good. We do Tempura Kiku / Matsanoma for lunch when a midday sushi attack hits since the others aren't open then. If you are looking for a good sushi dinner, you're much better off at CG or Kimonos, if you are willing to leave the Park.

We were at Puck's a couple of weeks ago and DD(19) was able to order her entree from the full sushi menu... got the Chef's platter and loved it.
Having said that, she's looking forward to trying it at CG next time! ;)
It will take some planning for us, though, since I believe CG is a signature restaurant and takes 2 TS credits.

Wow Thanks for all the help. Now it will be an even harder choice with the addition of Kimonos to the mix.
Only time will tell where I end up.

That's good to hear. We were really surprised when our server told us it was exempt. Makes sense that he was mistaken, he did say he was new.

Agree completely! ...and if you're DVC the 20% discount is an added bonus!

We ended up trying Tempura Kiku for lunch one day and the sushi was good. We loved the tempura and the waitress was great. She was surprised that our seven year-old son loved sushi so much.

We were on the DDP and we got a combination lunch on the plan (sushi roll and tempura shrimp and tempura veggies). It wasn't a huge lunch but we were pleasantly surprised that we liked it so much.

They do not take reservations at Tempura Kiku so we just showed up at noon when they opened and the dining room was not even a quarter full!
