Sushi at WDW

We're going to be in WDW for DD's 8th birthday and she wants sushi for dinner. In the past, we have ordered sushi at a kiosk at the Poly, and I'm wondering if that sushi is available at the Kona cafe as well (the menus I've found online suggest not, but I want to confirm).

Other than that, it looks like Teppan Edo has a limited sushi menu but several other things for non-sushi eaters (like me). Tokyo Dining has a fairly extensive menu, but I worry that it's too fancy for my 2 & 4 yo kids. Can anyone give me their experiences with either or both?

Is there anywhere else on property that sells good sushi and that's kid-friendly? We're staying at the YC.

California grill is supposed to have the best. We ate there almost two years ago. It was ok. My dh and mil are really into sushi and they were not blown away. We are used to sushi in NYC and it was totally different. Maybe that was their problem with it? I can eat a few pieces but then I am looking for the real meal :)

Kona Cafe was testing the sushi on their regular dinner menu in June. :thumbsup2

Kona Café does have sushi at dinnertime, and has since the Kona Island Sushi Bar first opened. Now the sushi is actually made in the café's kitchen instead of at the sushi bar, so you can definitely get it there. It would probably be my suggestion for a family-friendly atmosphere. I think Kimonos at the Swan has the best sushi, but it is a bar, and while they allow children, I've never seen any there.

Love Teppan Edo. It's become a tradition for us to eat at on our first night at WDW. I can't eat seafood at all and DH loves it. When we go to Teppan Edo he gets the one of the sushi appetizers, I get the miso soup and then we both go for the steak.

He's a big sushi fan and seems to think that the sushi there is good.

Kimono's at swan has great sushi. It's a restaurant and kid friendly as well. When we were there we saw other families there as well.

Kimonos is more quite early in the evening, and family friendly. After 9/9:30, there's karaoke, so it gets more bar like. Although we see lots of kids singing there. If you go at 5:30 or so, when it opens, it would great with kids. Really good sushi. But Tokyo Dining is kid friendly too.

And from YC, It is a nice stroll over to the Swan.
