sushi at Tokyo Dining?

DH wants to eat at Tokyo Dining while at WDW on DDP. He LOVES sushi. Can he choose sushi as his entre? If so, how much would he get (how many rolls). Thanks !

The restaurant in Japan is actually two separate restaurants- one serves sushi and the other is hibachi. I tried to order sushi as an entree at hibachi and couldn't. They have a few rolls on the appetizer menu. If your hubby only wants sushi I would suggest eating at the sushi restaurant.

Thanks ! We have eaten at the other side (Teppan Edo) a few times. I know that Tokyo Dining sort of specialized in sushi, so I was hoping that he could order it as his entre on the dining plan. Can anyone confirm? Thanks

but I would love to know the answer to this as well. I wouldn't want to waste my credits if all you could get was one roll. Hopefully someone knows the answer.

We have not eaten there since the new year, but previously the sushi menu was specifically not on the dining plan.

The entrees covered were the tempura, the bento boxes, the grilled steak/salmon, and the combination dinners. Some of these include sushi, but it is the typical tuna or salmon nigiri and not any of the specialty maki or the other nigiri options (like eel or ikura). They have the full range of sushi on a seperate menu, to avoid the argument I suppose.

Of course, they will let you buy as much of it as you like oop to go along with your DDP dinner We usually buy a couple of kinds to share as an appetizer/along with dinner.

I'm curious about how the dining plan works here too. We'll be on the deluxe plan and I was thinking this would make a perfect lunch on one of our Epcot days.

So none of the really fabulous sushi pictured on the DIS site (dynamite roll, volcano roll) counted for the plan in 2008?

Nope, not on the basic anyway.

Not sure how they work it with the DxDDP, but I do know that they had a clearly-titled 'Appetizers' section on the regular (non-sushi menu) that had no sushi on it. It was things like edamame, shrimp tempura, soup. I ordered a seaweed salad from it to go with my dinner but paid oop since we weren't on deluxe.

We ate there on the dxddp in October, and we could have had sushi for our entree. I think there were only two sushi entrees covered by the plan, which were two combination platters of sushi. Sorry, I don't have a pic as I chose the tempura/sushi combo but the sushi I did have was good there. Not sure if this is still the same for 2009 though.

We haven't tried it yet but planning for the next trip. Some of our friends will come and join us, who also loves sushi. Maybe we will go for Sushi restaurant.
