Susan Atkins, Manson follower, is DEAD

It makes me mad that they actually made Atkins "comfortable" (my words) before her death- she had cancer and in my opinion shouldn't have had any medical intervention. She was a monster. Let nature take it's course.

I'm glad I don't live in a society that feels that is the best course.

As for Susan Atkins, I believe her suffering has just begun.

Good, the world is a better place without her. Three years ago, I met a former CA prison guard who worked in the area where Manson is housed. He told me that looking into Charles Manson's eyes where like a window into he#$, and that he was the most scariest loser in the prison system, even the other losers don't mess with him.

Whats so sad, is there are some people just LIKE him walking around out in the open!

I thought Susan Atkins died a couple weeks ago? Was that a different Manson follower? I just deleted some thread subscriptions yesterday, so I can't bring up who this person was. But, I definitely remember saying Amen to that person who died.

She was denied parole a few weeks ago. Maybe that is what you said "amen" to?

There was a fear that she would have been granted parole this last time, as it was clear she was terminally ill, completely bedridden, and close to the end. However, she was denied for what everyone knew would be the last time, leaving her to certain death in prison.

I absolutely feel the Courts were completely right in denying her parole whether or not she had cancer. Getting cancer does not IMHO give her a pass to then go home and die peacefully with her family. She completely threw any life with her family away that dreaded summer back in 1969 when she choose the path she did with Manson.

and everywhere, why should she not die in her home? (prison cell) and I do think that they should have let her suffer, what she did was horrific and remember that she was originally sentenced to death by trial. She only got to die this way because the death penalty was overturned years ago. I really hope she and her fellow manson followers spend eternity suffering. As for other purely evil socio-paths I only hope that they are not my neighbors! I would hate to post another whiny complaint about my neighbors!!

I used to believe they went there thinking Melcher still lived there, but if you pull up some transcripts from early on, they clearly all stated that they knew he'd moved.

While I am sure a lot of this was very self serving, I find this motive to be more believable than the Melcher scenario or Helter Skelter. It wasn't written by Susan Atkins, so don't confuse the URL, but it was written and Susan would later approve much of it.

I really think it just makes it all fall into place better. Again though, I'm certainly not naive enough to believe that Susan was innocent as she claims.

I have spent the last 2 hours reading this site. VERY interesting! Susan Atkins certainly skips right over the night of the killings (to put it mildly) but this is a fascinating read. For those of us who can just not come to grips with why the killers would do this, it certainly does give you psychological insight into them.

while I feel bad for her loved ones, I do not feel the least bit sympathetic that she died in prison. Susan Atkins, along with all of the Manson Family murderers were originally sentenced to the death penalty. They were all supposed to die many years ago, as a consequence for the murders they committed. . By the stroke of luck, California changed their laws on the death penalty & their sentences got changed to life in prison. Every single one of those people should feel grateful for being able to have lived their lives, even if they were in prison. They were allowed to marry, have sex, pursue higher educational degrees, have jobs, etc...Susan Atkins lived as full of a life as she could have, given the choices she made in 1969.

By the way, I do think that most of those girls have shown remorse, changed their ways, & become better people & contributed to society. I also think they were victims of being young, stupid, on drugs, and brainwashed by a cult leader. But they were supposed to be given the death penalty for their horrendous crimes. They were lucky enough to live. That's all they should get.

Yes, that must have been it. It happened right after they let out that Lockerbie prisoner so he could die peacefully at home. :sad2: I was glad that they got this one right. :thumbsup2

Whatever happened to her in prison is nothing compared to the punishment that's been waiting for her. NOW justice will be done, not by human standards but by the only one's that really matter.

Susan Atkins has been punished for her crimes. She spent the first 20 years of her life trying to grow up and fit in and spent the last 40 years of her life locked away in one small room where she finally died from brain cancer. To quote from The Green Mile after an electrocution:

Percy Wetmore: Adios, Chief. Drop us a card from hell, let us know if it's hot enough.
Brutus "Brutal" Howell: He's paid what he's owed. He's square with the house again, so keep your ******* hands off him.

It's a good thing she wasn't in prison in Lockerbie,Scotland!!:thumbsup2

Hmm. Wonder if you would feel that way if you were a part of Sharon Tate's family, or anyone elses that was senselessly and horrifically murdered by them.

My first thought when I heard she was gone: Good.

On the DIS we all have a past available for everyone to read. You may believe the things you post or you may just try to get a rise out of people. I have my opinion.

Sadly, Sharon Tate doesn't have much family left. Her mother, father, and beautiful sister Patti are no longer with us, either. They all fought a good fight in trying to keep these animals locked up, but I truly believe the reality of it all lead to their own premature deaths. Debra Tate is left carrying the family torch.

It wasn't just those killed during those horrible nights, there are a lot of people who have been victimized because of these monsters.

I doubt any of them would appreciate the expression:

At least this guy in the movie was executed for the crimes he committed. It's a bit absurd IMO to liken this to a movie, but...

The entire Manson clan should have met the same fate, IMO. Even at that, it would have been way more humane than the way they chose to execute their victims.

my thoughts exactly.

yeah I think Roach likes to stir.

I hope no one close to her/him is murdered, if so, I wonder if she will feel happy once the killer is back in pure positive form and relief for the family of the killer?
