Survivor - Vanuatu

You are correct. I think that the Men won the Fishing Spear and Brady and Rory were using it in the beginning. But never saw much of it.

And yes the Island of Palau is the site of the next season. I think they are beginning to realize that they have to change it up. The survivors are coming in with way to much knowledge of the game.

Should be interesting to watch the next season, just to see how they plan on changing it.

Here's a quote from Jeff Probst about the next Survivor:

"At the end of the reunion, the location for the 10th season and yet another twist was revealed. Twenty castaways -- past seasons have only included 16 or 18 -- are headed to Palau, an island nation located in the Pacific. Host Jeff Probst promised "everything the survivors have come to expect will be wiped out in the first 10 minutes."

So you are right Mom2Ashli... Sounds like some major changes coming. :D

They ALWAYS say that though!!

Maybe there will be no tribes... every man or woman for themselves from the get go....

I thought the same thing. They should do every man/woman for themself - like a real survivor - think the series Lost. They do know way too much. The strongest are the first to go which doesn't seem fair. Definitly needs a shake-up.

The strongest weren't always the first voted off. Used to be it was always the older/slower person who caused their team to lose challenges. Now they start the game playing already for the merge. In earlier Survivors you would have never seen someone like Scout last as long as she did.

I saw the early show and didn't see a big difference in Twila's hair. What I saw was someone who was very uncomfortable in the limelight. She was obviously told before airing to mention the Elizabeth Glacier Pediatric Aids Foundation and the auction to raise money. She was nervous and had difficulty with the words and looked to Scout to help her remembering Elizabeth Glacier's last name.

It appeared to me that Chris was uncomfortable sharing his money with his fiancee. He didn't want her taking the check. What I found really odd was...he was not affectionate toward her at all. He didn't hold her hand...he didn't have his arm around her to celebrate this great event in his life.

I told my DH the night he won that I'd be willing to bet that wedding never takes place. I just don't see it.

With all the talk of food, I just realized that none of the Survivors on this season when fishing. Thailand that was the big thing, if you could catch fish you were staying. Not this time around.

Also, were there any food challenges this season? I don't think so. And no food auctions either. Those were always fun. "I'll pay $200 for a cookie, Jeff" :teeth:

ITA, did you see after he won, she met him at the bottom of the stairs and tried to hug him, but he kind of stepped out of her embrace and went to his family and did big hugs and whoops. It was a fair time until he actually took the time to hug her. If something wonderful had just happened to me, the first person I would have gone to would have been DH and then the others.

I think for a future Survivor, they should pick people who do not all speak English. Imagine trying to communicate! :3dglasses

We taped the reunion show. Haven't seen it yet. I'll have to look at how Chris interacts with his DF! That's an interesting observation about him cooling off.

I'd like to see a couple's Survivor!

Saw Chris on Regis and Kelly. Chris sent the check home with his Dad! Also said, he has been engaged since the Millennium that will be FIVE years. He's in no hurry to get married. If this wedding takes place, I'll be surprised.

You've been watching Lost too much.

Actually, that's a great idea except for the fact that Jeff will have the same problems.

A couples survivor would be so cool. Can you imagine Ethan and Jenna up against Rob and Amber, Richard and Susan Hawke It could be really cool. then halfway through, they could break up the couples and have them all compete individually.

Lost - I think that's a TV show. I've never seen it.

I think another great idea would be an international Survivor. Not only would the survivors have to contend with what they have been doing without but have a language barrier as well.
Great minds think alike!

I don't think they'd ever do a Survivor where everyone spoke different languages because I think it would be too hard on viewers to have to read the translation of what everyone is saying.

I think a couples Survivor (husband and wife) would be interesting! And I also liked the idea of starting the game as individual players.

Have you all heard that Julie and Jeff are a couple?

Also, I heard Chris on the radio the other morning say he lost 40lbs. I didn't notice it, nor did I notice anyone loosing that much weight like they have in the past. I wondered why they weren't fishing too. He said that he's going to keep working and share the money with his family. I sure hope he's not broke in a year. He never mentioned his fiancee.

When does the next season start?

Good Grief! I didn't know Jeff & Julie are an item! Wow! I had no idea. I didn't even catch the name "Jeff" on that heart tat of Julie's.

Good for them!
