~ SURVIVOR Samoa ~ Season 19 ~

I totally agree with this. Yes, he is a good player, but how can people "love" someone who lied about being part of the worst natural disaster in the history of the USA?

Not to mention, he burnt Jaison's socks on the first night.

But I don't think the other players know that he has been lying or that he burnt Jaison's socks....

I was reading Jeff's blog on the Entertainment Weekly website, and he addressed one of the questions that was asked here a while back:

INSIGHT: While we’re on the subject of hidden immunity idols. A lot of people have been asking me why I have not been asking “If anybody has the idol and you want to play it now is the time to do so…” before I read the votes. Here’s why – this season the clues have all been secretive. So there is no way for me to be certain that everybody knows there is an idol in play. Therefore, I can never ask for them to play it at tribal council because I might be giving something away.

That is why every Survivor is told before the game begins that regardless whether I ask for it or not, if they want to play the idol I will always pause before reading the votes giving them ample time to stand up and declare their intention to play it.

Natalie and the rat - that was classic! :thumbsup2 There's a lot more to her than we've seen; I hope she goes far.

I used to really like Dave, but after he totally blew off Monica's concern that Russell might have found the II, I lost all respect for him. Monica had a valid point and they should have considered it. When you're playing a game like Survivor, you have to be ready for any possibility and figure out how it'll affect your strategy.

OK, so I may not have liked Russell..but man, he is good LOL. I wonder..when he gets close to finding the idol, do all the camera's zero in on him, and that spurs him to look better in that area?

I loved the looks on everyone's faces last night. Best blindside ever.

Yeah, he's a great player. And without him this season would be a complete dud.

Ok, not really sure about Shambo and her alliance with Russel.....as I recall the only ones voting for Kelly were, Russel, Jaison, Mick and Natalie! :thumbsup2

She knew Russell had the idol and they were to vote him out to put their plan into play. No need for her to give her alliance away.

Some of you have mentioned Dave's mistake about not listening to Monica but frankly, it wouldn't have mattered whether she did. They didn't have enough votes to vote for 2 different people and still come out on top. If they voted for Russell (4 people) and Natalie (3 people), that still wouldn't have done it. Sham and Foa Foa would have all then voted for Kelly making it 5 to 3 in and Kelly still would have gone home.

You may say that Russ wouldn't have known that they were planning to do it but Sham would have known and would have reported back to Russell. And Sham would have switched sides at that point.

Not necessarily. They could just tell Sham to vote for Russell and count her as one of the 4 votes. There is no reason they would have to tell her that they were splitting the vote. It's not like they've shared vote switches with her in the past.

Don't think so. The edit job is casting Sham as an outsider amongst her own tribe but she would have picked up on any weird vibes about a vote split. She's not an idiot. Additionally, she is closer with the guys on GALU than the other women are. There would be no reason for them to keep the vote switch from Sham.

That has to be the first smart thing that Shambo has done.

She was almost "over-acting" her part at times. She made sure she looked surprised when Russell pulled out the idol and made other faces throughout the tribal council!

Not so sure. The guys have kept their voting strategy hidden from her before.

Just watched online this afternoon. What a hoot! It was so fun to watch!

Did anyone notice that Natalie's swimsuit makes her look nude from a distance?

Did Jeff say that the idol was back in play again? Have they done that before? I thought that in the past that once it was used it wasn't available again.

I wonder if any of the Galu tribe (beside Shambo) regrets not keeping their alliance with Russell now that they know how hard he is playing the game. Monica, Laura and that other guy, Brett? all made alliance with him.

I don't know. Shambo suggested voting Kelly off instead of Monica; her reasoning being that Monica had ticked more folks off than Kelly, so it would be easier to get the Galu guys to turn on her later if necessary. I know the editing didn't show Kelly much... but those under the radar, no enemies players can be dangerous.

Like a lot of you I haven't really liked Russell from the start but I admit...he's the best Survivor player yet! This week's show was great and as long as he's around, things are going to be very interesting. ;)

I wasn't referring to the players, I was referring to some people who had posted on this thread saying that they love him.

I do love him...as I find him as entertaining as heck :happytv:and he makes this season very interesting!

It's a reality TV show, I have seen worse!

His whole strategy has been working for him and those on the show who were "catching on" to him, he quickly had removed.

I do applaud him for his game play:worship:---he's not being particularly nasty, he's told some lies (but I would too on this show if it meant getting further ahead:thumbsup2 ) and he a very good strategic player always thinking two steps ahead of the rest!

Like I said the whole theme of the show is "outwit, outplay, outlast" and so far he has done this.....
