~ SURVIVOR Samoa ~ Season 19 ~

O
Why wasn't Jeff at the reward challenge - the bocce ball thing? Must be a reason.:confused3

From his Blog:

HOST-LESS CHALLENGE INSIGHT – We have talked about doing something like this for a long time. A challenge in which nobody is there. Nobody tells them anything. We just watch to see what they do. This was a major experiment. How would it work without having me there to moderate and oversee everything? And for the record, I wasn’t hiding in the bushes, “just in case.” When we commit, we commit. I was back in my tent reading an old copy of Rolling Stone. Poor Michael Jackson.

I agree about 'good riddence' to Yasmin being voted out.

I mean, it is not like this is the first season of Survivor. If you want to be on this show you should realize a few things such as: doing nothing around camp will not endear you to anyone; this is a social game and your interaction with others will strongly influence how long you stay; doing 'good' at the challenges is not that big a deal if you are on a basically strong team.

As for Rogue Russell: I wonder if he is continuing to pour water out, steal socks, etc., all to cause conflict within his tribe?

As for Attorney Russell: I like him but he is letting the 'power' of being the leader of his tribe go to his head. Russell, your power is illusory.

And when Galu lost the immunity challenge, Foa Foa didn't get to send a member to Galu's camp. Wonder why?

I was wondering the same thing. Do you think they're trying to put more psychological pressure on Foa Foa? I'm sure they must have dialogue regarding this issue, but will they air it next week? Things that make you go hmm...

For the record, I'm glad Yasmin was given the boot. When she made that comment at tribal council about doing everything she was asked to do... Really? Where's the self-initiative? If someone had to tell her everything that needed to be done she'd be complaining about being bossed around. She was pathetic.

Oh my! Did you see their hands and feet? I can't imagine. I think this may have been the most physically challenging Survivor yet. Shambo's hands looked awful! As did Jaison's.

Russell better watch out. He went a little far with Liz.

I couldn't watch the reward challenge. I'm not feeling all that well this evening and I just couldn't take watching them try not to puke.

Oh yeah, he told her you're skatin' on thin ice.

Having seen the conversation, it made me very uncomfortable the way he spoke to Liz. He tried to make her feel like she was powerless and stupid for even suggesting he had the immunity idol. Psychological abusive as far as I'm concerned. A simple no would have sufficed.

Just saying no isn't his style, remember he's an a$$h@le.

I wonder who is going to need medical attention next week?

Considering the condition of everyone last night - this doesn't surprise me. They (especially Foa Foa) have to be pretty weak, cold, hungry, exhausted not to mention depressed after all that rain.

You know, for somebody who's trying to control the game (and everybody else) without anyone getting suspicious, Russell made a big mistake by coming on so strong when Liz suggested that he had the idol and was lying about it. When people get so defensive about things the way Russell did, that's a big sign that they really ARE lying. All he had to say way "nope, don't have it", maybe throw in a little "I looked for it but didn't have any luck". But that whole conversation with Liz, getting so upset that she could even think that he'd lie, and then telling her she was on thin ice....I think that might backfire on him.

Liz isn't stupid. I wouldn't be surprised if she's having some side conversations with some of the others about Russell. Do we dare hope that they might blind-side him soon??

Re Shambo: I don't know about her. Sometimes I really like her, and other times she's completely illogical. I can understand being ticked off when Russell chose her to go to Foa Foa and miss eating all the meat they won in the reward challenge. But Russell was right - she lost that chicken and going to Foa Foa was a sort-of punishment.

But she's just TOO friendly with the other tribe. I can understand trying to form some friendships so she'll have an advantage when they eventually merge, but she's just a little too buddy-buddy for my liking.

And what was with that whole fire-starting thing at Galu? Is Dave really the only person who can start a fire on that tribe? And why was he so snotty about "are you asking me to start the fire?" That attitude is going to hurt him - you all want to eat, step in and help out for goodness sake! I think he doesn't like the fact that Russell was chosen as the leader and he's trying to make Russell look bad. But he's going about it the wrong way.

I'm also curious about who gets hurt next week. It seems like it's a lot worse than when the old guy (sorry, I can't think of his name right now) had his heart problems - wonder if somebody falls and breaks an arm or leg or something?

I never really noticed it before but many of the Girls had eye makeup on - mascara, eye liner, etc. I don't remember seeing that in previous years.

Although I did not notice, it could be permanent make-up. :confused3

Yes, he's such a bully. I hope he gets blindsided and never is able to use his immunity idol. Here's to karma :drinking1

I found Jeff Probst's blog, and this is what he said about next week and the person who gets hurt:

NEXT TIME ON…SURVIVOR for real
Next week’s episode features one of the scariest moments I’ve had in my entire run on Survivor. Check that – the scariest. I’m not trying to over hype. I’m just giving you a tease. I don’t want you to get your expectations so high that you’re let down, but I am going to be honest that for a few seconds during next week’s episode I was really worried we were in danger of losing a contestant… forever.

Wow! They've been having some pretty physical challenges this season; wonder what happens?

The challenges this year have been too extreme IMHO.

Jeff is totally hyping what's going to happen next week it to get their viewership up. I mean, why not?

I know, watching the previews for next week are scary as heck...would LOVE to know who it is..........? :confused3

ITA...even last night with the coconuts...those doing all the throwing could have easily messed up and thrown a coconut at one of the contestants holding the ropes....thankfully, that did not happen, but those things could have done some real damage to someone's head. :headache:
