Survivor question....

Is it just me or do the Survivor contestants get a little too emotional over a letter from home, etc. I mean they've only been gone about a month...not years! Sometimes I think they just act a little too over the top.

True, they've only been gone a month, but they've been living in a very harsh environment under a lot of stress. I can see where they would be emotionally strung-out and maybe go "over the top" compared to someone who's just been away on business or something.

We get pretty excited over our upcoming WDW trips too!
They'd probably think we are crazy. To each his own!

I don't think it's just being "gone" for a month, it's the isolation they are forced into. Back when I was in the merchant marine (before the satellite phones were cheap enough) we could go for a month easily without contact from home, and it does strange things.
