Survivor: Pearl Islands *OFFICIAL THREAD*

Oh, I'm very excited about tonight's show. :hyper: Funny, I'm generally not much of a TV watcher, but this year it seems like I can hardly wait for 'my' shows to be on.

I am getting my VCR set so not to miss it. We are going out and can't be sure we'll be home by 8pm. This season has been more fun for me as DH is actually watching with me.:D

Since tonight is a two-parter, it will be interesting how they split the show and leave us hanging. f you read the Survivor Spoiler board spoiler is such a misnomer, since nobody really knows for sure), there are an interesting number of scenerios people see happening. I tend to agree with some of the people who feel two survivors will be going home - Osten and Jon.

*sigh* In my wishful thinking world, I'd agree with this, too.....but my gut says 1 or the other will be around longer than most of us would like.

I do enjoy the spoiler boards, too, although sheesh, the language some of them use. I feel like I'm in a high school study hall when I read that board.:crazy2:

I read that it is an hour and a half tonight, so make sure you set your VCR's accordingly!!

What does it mean to be a Part 1 episode? Aren't they all part of the same story?:boat:

I guess Jeff was a little bit disgusted with Osten's decision. HE made a good point when he put his torch on the ground. Too many people have worked too hard to just get on the show, and go far into the game, much less win it.

Almost forgot....I think that in order to help the "new" tribemates, besides giving them immunity, I think the merge will occur after they join their tribes next week.

I think this was such a great episode. Jeff's explanation fit so well in with the pirate theme. Yeah, you abandon fellow mates and leave them to die but some times they do SURVIVE and come back with nothing but REVENGE in their mind! How appropriate for this year's series!!!

Good riddance to Osten. I won't miss him a bit. Jeff was great, pulling up Osten's torch and putting it on the ground where it belonged. No loss at all the Morgan tribe. IMO he was more of a detriment!

I just wished someone at Drake had brought up the fact that it was Johnny Fairplay's idea to throw that first immunity challenge that booted Burton out and started their losing streak. Maybe the vote would have gone the other way.

I was just asking DH, "do you think they will show the third tribal council, there is only 5 minutes left", when they put up the "To be continued" sign. I groaned and moaned.

I can't wait to see who gets voted back in. I think if it is one member from each team then they will go back to the other team. But it could possibly be two members from the same team that get voted in. I wonder what the criteria will be for the voting. I can't waitn to see what happens next!

Can anyone help me understand why Rupert and the tribe kept Jon in the game??? I thought he should be gone for giving Rupert up on the last vote. What am I missing here?????

Ditto what the rest of you are saying about "O". I saw where he didn't get his 30 second narrative at the end of the show. Nor should he be invited back for the final reunion show. What a waste of a contestant--he was a whiner from the very beginning even though his body was still carrying more muscles than anyone else's after 19 days.

Shawn didn't get to do a narrative either. I think they just skipped it because they would have had to do two instead of the one. And it was such a dramatic touch just seeing the torch lying on the ground and then the remaining members leaving.

I just thought of something. Someone with a recording, please confirm. At the end of the challenge, didn't Jeff say that the Morgan tribe would report first to tribal council? Not quite sure but I think that is what he said. But instead, Drake showed up first. Maybe because MarkB got wind of what was going on at Morgan and knew it would be a more dramatic closing.

Did I remember right? Please someone, rewatch video tape and let me know who Jeff said was reporting first to TC.

I read on another board that it was probably a strategic move because Burton and Shawn were in an alliance earlier in the game. This way, Burton won't have his one ally if he does come back to Drake.

Shawn did.

I thought at the challenge Jeff said Drake first, then Morgan, then the Outcasts.

I'm wondering....the Outcasts....did they sleep in nice beds? I know Jeff said their food was rationed, but were they also doing hard physical labor?? Doubtful.

I don't like this turn of events. Seems that they got voted out for a reason. Makes the show interesting, I'll say that, but fair? I, personally, don't think so.

I saw a pic of a location where they suposedly stayed and it seemed pretty primitive. They did have a roof over thier heads, and running wter, but not much else. Don't know about the bedding :p I'm sure they did get a bit more rest, so that even with the same type of food I'm sure they had a bit of an advantage. It wouldn't have been much of a twist if the Outcasts had lost.

**Tulirose smacks hand to forehead!** I remember it now. :o

What a COOL show!!!

Now having said that, in no way do I think this is fair! The outcasts definitely had the advantage. But my niece pointed out Survivor isn't always fair like when Pascal got voted out by choosing the wrong rock, even when he hadn't gotten a vote at tribal counsel.

I don't know who I'd like to see back. I know I don't want it to be Trish, Burton or Nicole.

I loved how Jeff treated the whole Osten quitting thing! I thought for sure everyone would still vote though and I was wondering who Osten would vote for!

Its gonna be a long seven days!!!

I will be at Disney next Thursday. No matter how much fun I am having I will be wondering what is happening.

I find this new twist to be interesting. I don't think Survivor is about "fair." It's about surprise and keeping your wits about ya. Good riddance to Osten- for all of his muscle he didn't pull through on one of the physical challenges. And then he was a total whiner to boot. I am glad Jeff treated him the way he did- he deserved it. I don't get why they kept Jon, but the explanation that they booted Shawn so Burton didn't have an ally makes sense to me...Jon has driven me totally nuts since day one! I would like to see Burton back, although I missed the episode where he was voted out (coming back from Disney that day- good enough excuse!) so I didn't see his naughty side. No thanks on Lil & Trish; they both bugged me..

I could not believe when they said " to be continued" I wonder if where the outcast stayed will be the place for the merged team, I also agree that since the outcasts are immuned next week that the week after will be when they merge to give them even a better chance to stay on the island... I still do not know if this was fair, what if one of them win how strange would that be...
WHY???? is Jon not gone... he drives me crazzzzzy....
I will be on a cruise next week and will not be able to see what happened until I get home... ISunday.. think I will scream.....

I just wonder how much of what happens is preplanned or done on the spur of the moment to get things going and more interesting (ex. Rupert going to the Morgan tribe).

And why didnt they vote Jon off after all he has fought with almost all the members of the Drake tribe. I really was hoping Jon would push Rupert and just be disqualified and asked to leave(not that I condone violence by any means).
