Survivor: Palau...official Thread

I agree. I think that it would be nice to see someone win because they were hard working and talented, not because they were sneaky and coniving. (Plus I love Steph! Shee looks and acts just like one of my nieces. I bet she is a great pharm. rep!)
Too bad we can't vote at Tribal Council.

That's correct.

And I bet that if the vote had been held - Gregg and Jen definitely would have voted for Stephenie, probably Karyn as well. Not sure about Katie, Ian, & Tom..... :scratchin

I think Ian would have voted for Steph--he seems worried about her. He knows the other girls are no threat.

I would have thought that Ian would be preforming much better in the water than he has been - he is a Dolphin Trainer after all! Does he not spend a great deal of time in the water for a living?

Just wondering!

Ian was awesome in the water on all the early challenges. And he did great last night, Katie slowed their team way down. I'm a little worried about him though. Do you remember the very tall player in Australia? About this point, he had lost so much weight that he could barely move, and he mercifully got voted out. I know they're getting protein, but Ian is so skinny now. He needs more food than everyone else because he is so tall.

I actaully thought the women would have fared better in that challenge...women (generally) have smaller faces then men...I though the girls could have pushed their faces up higher through the bars then the men. (Although - Ian and Tom are quite slim...Tom was very smart with his hands - extending his breathing room.)

I was thinking the same thing and then I noticed that the bar/cage was lined up perpendicular to the beach and the women were on the end. It seemed like to me that the water was rising faster on the girls' end (Step and Jenn) than it was for the guys. I thought the bars should have been lined up horizontally to the beach to make things fair.

Tom's hand snorkel/breathing tube thing was pretty clever :) I'm glad he won immunity again but I wonder if it makes him a target now?

I missed the first 10 minutes. How did they come up with the teams for the reward challenge? I came in during the middle of it.

Wouldn't it have been something if Tom and Ian were going to turn the tables on Greg and vote him off?

I thought it was Ian that was implying that Janu should lay down her torch and leave, not Greg.

It is true, there is so much talk about how Jeff minipulated TC that since I had it TIVO'd I went back and watched the last part and Jeff only clarified what Janu had already said--Jeff said "so what is the difference between voluntarily leaving and being voted out" Janu said, "I don't know and that is why I would be winning to lay down my torch and leave the game..." Jeff only came back and said "So what you are saying Janu is..."

That is how it played out--I don't see how Jeff manipulated ANYTHING. It was very normal and more normal TC than when I watch it earlier. A lot of the questions were focused on the dynamics of other players. Sorry to get on my soap box here...but when you see things only once you can get caught up in what others are saying--having the oppertunity to go back and watch just confirms what I have been saying about TC.

While the random teams did seem unfair to me as well, I think they could have made it more fair to require all 4 people of the team to participate. I can't help but feel that Tom and Greg want the girls to just get out of the way and let them do the work.

For the IC I thought the water was up on the girls' faces faster than the guys. Too bad they weren't placed in the water in a Girl/Guy order. Whoever was next to Tom would have picked up on his hand snorkel trick. It looked like Greg was trying it.

Yes you are correct. Jenna and Ethan are still going strong.

I didn't even notice that...very interesting.

Oh Tom has a big ole bullseye on his back now!

Julie was one of the final 2 with Chris...the guy who won after being the last of hist tribe left. (the girls ate each other up)

she was very pretty...wth is she doing with Probst? blech!

Just did a search. Julie is the pretty brunette from Survivor Vanuatu who made it to the jury and cried when she questioned the final two because Chris was "like a brother to her" and betrayed her.

She's the one that when the tribes were mixed up, she and Twila ended up on the men's tribe and she kept sunbathing nude in front of the guys. I guess trying to give them a reason to keep her around since she never seemed to sunbathe nude when she was with all women. :rotfl:

I didn't notice that either. DH had to stay out of town last night and he called me this morning and mentioned how unfair that was to the girls. How the water was raising faster on the girls. I taped it so I can go back and see what you guys mean.

No, Twila was in the final two with Chris, Julie was voted out a few before that.

I don't think that matters how the bars were lined up (parallel/perpendicular). The water is going to rise the same amount. If you think about a swimming pool, if you put enough water in it to raise the level 2 inches it doesn't matter where you put the water in (deep end/shallow end). Everything will rise at the same rate. Since everyone was had the same amount of space between the top of the water and the bars, the water would rise the same amount for anyone.

Didn't Jeff just tell them to pick a spot? I think it was all their choice and unfortunately all of the girls ended up on the end closest to the beach.

My point was that it would have to come down to who could hold his breath the longest after the tide came in. No way would Steph have been able to match either Ian or Tom in lung capacity. Add to that the need for shorter arms to use more strength pulling body weight up through the bars, and you have a challenge made for men.

I do not think that the bar alignment had anyhting to do with the rate at which the water rose, if they had changed it to make the water rise faster on teh men would that have been fair to them? They chose where they wanted to be.

Also Steph, of all the people left, deserves to win. She is the Rupert of this season. One of the trainers I work with said he wished Steph would quit breaking down. I stated that is not weakness, man she was so frustrated. You had Janu, who wanted to go home, and her wanting to stay and others int eh tribe not caring.

Tom said earlier he would not vote for Steph, but last night said he would. Game or no game, he should not have, but then again that is the game.

Janu I do not think any the worse of, she was getting sick and when she lost the challenge the others sans a few were pretty mean to her. Unfortunately if the season pans out like they tend to, Katie will be around for more days, even though she needs to go home, then more deserving players. She actually is one of the most annoying individuals, pretty high school acting and not even a remote help to anyone, Jenn and Karyn are tied for second on the useless scale. Unfortunately Steph needs them to get past the guys, and then hopefully she can eliminate them one at a time.
