Survivor: Palau...official Thread

Do ya'll think Koror should have used the fresh water for showers or drinking? I think Tom & Ian had every right to say how they thought it should be used since they are the ones who ate those awful eggs.

I think if Tom & Ian should be able to forego their showers for drinking water if they want. If the girls want to shower, they should be able to take a shower, provided they can take a quick shower to conserve as much water as possible. Just because Tom and Ian won the challenge, I don't think that gives them the right to decided how it's used for everyone.

I also want to add that I like Coby much better after last night's episode. He always bothered me before, but last night he was really funny talking about the girls and not keeping up with camp. I'm worried because isn't he the one who wants to be in alliance with the couple? He should know that would never work?

Does anyone on Koror have a tiny speck of sympathy for Ulong? I felt so bad when BJ lost to Tom, and I was so hoping Tom would just walk over and hand BJ that bottle of Scope. I mean, geesh. Cut them a break. Those two really do stink at puzzles though. holy cow!

I don't think they are allowed to give the losing team any of their prize.

I think the problem that BobbyJohn and Stephanie had with the outrigger was because it was beached. They must have tied it off at high tide and when they went to leave it was low tide and it was pretty high up on the beach. If she leaves it tethered in water she should be okay manuvering it.

When they first said that the water they won was fresh and wouldn't have to be boiled I was thinking "Why the heck waste it on a shower?" Drink that stuff! They can take the bottles of shampoo and soap out in the ocean and clean up that way and not have to worry about hauling water for quite some time. Plus it probably tastes better than the boiled water.

And there isn't a bad hair day or lack of deodorant in this world that would make me eat those eggs!!!! :sad2: :crazy2:

I know it's crossing shows, but I immediately thought of Rob on Amazing Race and thought - I will skip this challenge, you can HAVE the shampoo! Steph looks pretty darn clean anyway. She said she scrubs herself with sand all of the time.

I agree with Liz. This doesn't seem fair. I think the challenges would have been more even if EVERY Koror member had to do a challenge before they started again, not just having a person sit out once. It's getting to the point of watching no longer being any fun for me.

Steph ROCKS! She is one strong contender. I hope she makes it through to the end! :goodvibes GO STEPH! GO STEPH!! :goodvibes

Even if they are not allowed...I think it would have spoken volumns about the tribe if they asked Jeff if they could share. Yes, it's fun to be on a winning team...but sometimes you look over at the (constantly) losing team...and if you have a heart, you really start to feel bad and put yourself in their shoes.

Regarding sharing rewards: Did Boston Rob ask Jeff about sharing his "reward" one time, I think it was when they all had letters or videos from loved ones, and Jeff said he could. :confused3

For a moment, I really though Tom was going to at least offer Bobby Jon a swig of that mouthwash. In the beginning I liked Tom a lot, but I told my DH last night that as the weeks go by, he's beginning to remind me of an OLDER, NEW YORK version of Boston Rob.

YES - I think he won the letter AND video...and he gave up his video so that everyone could get their letters or something like that.

see - if never hurts to ask

If anyone can survive being at camp alone, I think it's Steph. She's as tough as anyone left on that island. I was shocked to hear of her alliance with the Koror members. I think Tom said it was done on the second day? Not sure how it happened, but I'm happy to hear it if she gets to join Koror. There was a spoiler that said no merge this season, but maybe (just keeping my hopes up) the source didn't consider one person joining the tribe as a merge. Even if they don't merge, I hope Steph will be able to hang in there. She's definitely my favorite right now.

I really wish Koror would lose a few challenges. I used to like most members of their tribe but now I'm just getting tired of them. This is the strangest Survivor ever. I was in favor (and still am) of "letting the chips fall where they may" and not shaking things up just to save Ulong, but enough is enough. I hope the next immunity challenge is something that puts Steph on equal footing with everyone else and a couple of Koror members can hit the road.

I don't care how it plays out from here, Steph deserves to win. Period. That is one impressive lady!

As for how it *will* play out... I'm hoping that Steph will get to join the others and go to individual immunities next week.

I also think the water should have been saved for drinking, but I do agree that they could have given each person a gallon or something to shower with. 6 gallons out of 55 (since Tom and Ian probly wouldn't have used theirs) still leaves a *lot* for drinking.

But I'm with y'all. I would have just said y'all can *have* the shampoo.

When Bobby Jon left I was so happy to NOT hear "The tribe has spoken". I'm sick of that corny phrase. That will make a good trivia question.

Ok, this may be a scary thought for people rooting for Steph, but here is what I am thinking:

Rumor has it, there is no merge this season. So far, this has proved true to date. The fact that Jeff did not send Stephanie back to Koror's camp means she is still considered the Ulong Tribe. Now, that means, reward challenges and immunity challenges, Steph will compete against one of Koror. She could very well win at one on one competitiions, so, she could last alone for a few weeks (it would be days on the Island). But, usually the merge happens at 10, which is where we are now. In past seasons, if the merge did not happen at 10, it certainly happened by 9 or 8.

If Steph loses an immunity challenge, it is an instant ticket to go home. Since the rumor is out there about being no merge, my guess is that Steph loses next week, or the week after. Because, even if it is only one person, if one person from outside a tribe joins a given tribe, it is a "merge". I don't think Stephanie will have a chance to join Koror. :sad2:

very good explanation/theory.
but it totally sucks if it does happen

hehe..."no merge this season"...not because Mark Burnett wanted to change things up...but because one tribe didn't even MAKE it to the merge.

Steph is still the most bad*beep* chick on that island!

I'm actually wondering if Steph is going to be able to get the boat in the water to go to the challenges all by herself. I'm wondering if she's even going to have a chance to compete by herself, after watching bobby jon and herself struggle with it this week.

I agree with Liz.

I think Stephanie has a HUGE disadvantage at the challenges. She has competed in every challenge, plus has to work her butt off at camp by herself. She doesn't have much of a chance.

Forgive me if I am wrong, but aren't there only 9 left now (8 on Koror plus Steph)? So Coby was right, they all made the jury. They are also past the usual merge point. I don't see why they don't just let Steph join Koror. I predict that the reward will be the individual tribes, and then the next immunity will be individual. It would be interesting to have Steph go over to Koror. Shake things up in that camp a bit!

If there would be a merge, Steph would be smart to try and keep her alliance with Tom and them but also try to make an alliance with Jen and another person. That way, they could get down to 5 and then vote Tom and Ian off. They are getting too comfortable in their positions!

I think Steph deserves to be in the game much more than Janu or Katie or Jen(even Karen). It would be a real shame for her to go out before them!

I'm hoping next week goes something like:

At the immunity challenge, they all compete individually. Steph, if she can stay in, get sthe chance to "replace" a member of Koror. this keeps her alive, but still no actual merge, since it's jsut the end of Ulong.

Hey, I can dream...

P.S. I just LOVE Steph--she is SO tough and strong, she deserves some kind of "ultimate survivor" award!

I missed it, except for the end when Bobby Joe was leaving. How was it decided which one would go?

There are a few players who haven't competed in a chalange in weeks. If they must have Stephanie go it alone they should make one of those who always sits out compete. Did that make sence? I mean if she goes up against Ian or Tom it will be tough, but if she goes up against one of the girls on Koror who don't do anything maybe she will have a chance. Lets expand the back to back chalanges thing.

The numbers are so far off, they are doing the "back to back" challenge rule. Only reversed.

Tom and Ian who took part in the reward challenge, could not take part in the Immunity challenge. They only needed 4 out of 8 people. So 4 would not compete. Since Tom and Ian did not compete in the last challenge, one of them could go up against Steph in the next challenge. I hope Koror is not that cruel. I hope they put Greg's GF up for the reward, and Janu up for the immunity. :teeth:

CookieGVB ...there was an individual immunity challenge at Tribal council. They had to build a fire w/ the props provided (some matches, kindling etc). Their torch was hovering a certain distance over what they were building the fire in....the first to get their fire high enough to light their torch won....

Yeah, I think they need to start making everyone have a turn at doing challenges, rather than "can't sit out back to back". Because now, Ian and Tom are back in it. Although, I think they really want her on their tribe. Perhaps they get put up for the immunity and let her take it, that would be interesting.

Jennifer S: DH and I said the same thing; we were so glad that Jeff didn't say "the Tribe has Spoken", because like he said, it didn't! There was no vote, so therefore Bobby Jon did not get voted off. That's got to be the first time that's ever happened, right??
