Survivor: Nicaragua Wed, Sept 15**No Spoilers**

... the only reason (i think) the girls voted for him it was because they liked him and he was always so cozy with them, he was their big teddy bear.

Agreed TOTALLY. Even one or two of them looked like they were batting eyelashes at him at TC.
YAY Fabio!

For Chase...

Nayonka, Alina, Brenda, Purple Kelly,

For Fabio...

Marty, Dan, Benry, Holly, Jane.

I think popcorn::

ooo Holly flipped on Chase, interesting!

I want them to put the voting video up already! And the F3 going to Ponderosa. I'm getting impatient :rotfl:

I don't think he will. It sounds like he has a bit of a plan. Like many of us thought, Fabio proved to be sharper than we gave him credit for and to me this was one of the most satisfying finals. I'm still not sure what chase did to garner so many votes. Maybe his final TC swayed some of the jury. Loved the look on Jane's face, sure glad she didn't have a shot gun with her. And Naonka is still delusional. The smartest player there? Yeah, right. And please don't try and tell us that your game personality is totally different than your real life one. There's always a little of the real you coming through.
If Naonka's personality was "made for TV", you'd think that she could give it up for the reunion show. But she DIDN'T. To me, that says she is like this IRL, too.

It didn't look like the apple fell far from the tree either. Her mom didn't seem to be any more "with it" than Nay was. "Made for TV" Bah-loney!

Just a few questions from the end, since I was trying to make lunch for today and watch the final 15 minutes.

1) Do we know who voted for whom?
2) I was so focused on the new twist tot he show, I never caught WHERE it's going to be. Can anybody fill in that blank?
3) And I missed part of the idea of redemption island. I get that when the second person gets there, the two compete with the winner rejoining the tribe. Does that mean the loser then goes home? Doesn't that lengthen the season a bit? I wonder how they'll handle that.

As far as the two versus three debate, I think having three at the final TC allowed the producers to enlarge the group of survivors. Remember they started with 16, then grew to 20 (I think I have that right). I like the idea of three and am curious what would happen if we got a tie.

The way I understood it is:

A player (A) gets voted off. They go to redemption island and hang out (alone) until the next vote. At the next vote, another player (B) gets voted off and goes to redemption island. Then A and B have their challenge and the loser goes home. The winning player is still stuck at redemption island until they lose a challenge, or the part where they merge that player back in comes along.

Potentially this means that a strong "threat" player could be stuck on redemption island pretty much alone for the entire first part of the game. Yuck! That could get really really hard.

People that I know are still insisting that Russell and Rob will be on the S22 cast. Also Carrie Prejean (sp?) who is a former beauty pageant contestant who made some controversial remarks about gay marriages.

Exactly.

In summary, redemption island makes Survivor more favorable for players who are good at challenges. I like this because in the early stage of the game where you can't get individual immunity besides with a hidden immunity idol, the tribe may knock off a strong player out of fear. If that occurs, they will have a chance to come back later in the game for revenge if they keep winning the challenges against the future outcasts. Should be interesting ...

This is Jeff's blog about Redemption Island:

Out with the old, in with the new! At the conclusion of the Survivor: Nicaragua live reunion show, the first promo was revealed for season 22 of the reality franchise: Survivor: Redemption Island, which will premiere on Wednesday, February 16, 2011. EW.com was on location back in August for filming in Nicaragua and spoke to Jeff Probst about the new twist.

“How it works is very simple,” explained Probst. “When you’re voted out at Tribal Council, you don’t go home. You’re not out of the game. You go to Redemption Island and you live alone. And at a certain point in the game another person will join you. You will compete in a duel. The winner stays. The loser goes home. So you’re continuing to live out there on your own with very basic supplies. But you’re still in the game. And at a certain point you’ll be allowed to reenter the game and have a shot at the money.” In other words, people that are voted out will compete against each other for a chance to later rejoin the game.

The concept of being voted out and then reentering the game is something of a sore spot for Survivor fans, after voted out “Outcasts” Lillian “Lil” Morris and Burton Roberts came back into the game in Survivor: Pearl Islands, with Lil making it all the way to the final two. Probst insists this time will be different. For starters, the voted out contestants will not be eating lots of food with a roof over the heads, but will still be stuck out in the elements like everyone else. For another thing, this time everything will be out in the open. “We did a haphazard version of Redemption Island a few years ago called the Outcasts,” said Probst just minutes after fiming the opening of the show, “and it didn’t work and it didn’t please the audience and there was one fundamental flaw: We didn’t tell people up front it was going to happen. I just told everybody [at the opening] it’s going to happen. Make no mistake: When you’re voted out, you’re not going home, and somebody that you vote out could come back and bite you in the ***. So I have no problem with people coming back into the game because everybody knows up front. A rule can’t be unfair if you know going in. It’s an equal opportunity.”

In another format switch, since each episode will include a Redemption Island duel, you can expect there to be just one combined reward/immunity challenge per episode for the players that have yet to be voted out. “This is the most excited I’ve been in a long time when it comes to a twist. I really hope Redemption Island adds a new layer that we can use for years to come,” said Probst. “We have no idea what’s gong to happen. It’s a big risk. It could fail miserably. I don’t think it’s going to.”

And here is his blog about the finale:

It’s late so this will be short:

FABIO WINS
I’m delighted that Fabio won. He was the clear audience favorite. The crowd in the studio went wild when his name was announced. Kids seem to gravitate to Fabio. I think it’s his goofy honesty. He doesn’t filter much and though at times he is a bit scattered, there is an undeniable charm and it’s nice to have him on the list of Survivor winners.

CHASE ON GEEE-TAR
I was really impressed. I’d never heard Chase play before but I just had a feeling it was worth a shot. He played once during our walk thru before the show and it sounded so good we asked the band to join in as well. I wish Chase well in his music endeavors. I could see him having a lot of success in Nashville.

NAONKA
I think she held back a little bit from her true self during the live show. She had a bit more self-control last night, but she still came through with some colorful answers. I was most curious what her mom would be like and I was pleasantly surprised that her mom was so even-keeled and honest about her daughter.

JIMMY JOHNSON
That’s how you do an interview. His answers were great. That’s why he makes a lot of money working on television. He’s a pro. Loved what he said and that we were able to share the story of how Survivor helped save his life.

TERRY BRADSHAW
What a gift to have Bradshaw in the house and willing to let us ask him a few questions. Having Bradshaw gave us another element and a bit more insight into why someone like Jimmy Johnson would want to play Survivor.

JANE WINS SPRINT AWARD
As I said in the show, it was a BLOWOUT. She had 60 percent of the vote. The next closest were Holly and Fabio at about 10 percent. I’m happy for Jane. I think she will use that money to help make her life a bit easier. Two years worth of salary is a lot of money. What I like most about this award is that it’s based on fan voting, nothing else.

BOSTON ROB
I owe Rob an apology. I tried to squeeze in too much content before getting to Rob and as a result we were late on time, and so the band started playing as a cue for us to go to break and Rob did his best to rush through the story. That was my fault and I accept full responsibility. But damn, that baby is cute. That is three Survivor babies that have come from Survivor couples. Rob and Amber have two and Jamie and Erik (from Survivor: China) have one as well!

REDEMPTION ISLAND
I do believe this is our biggest twist yet.

I do believe it will change the game in a huge way.

I do believe you are going to love it.

Give it a chance. Have some faith that we know what you guys want and expect from your favorite show.

If after 6 episodes the majority of you do not love what is happening with Redemption Island, you can let me know and I will vote myself off the show.

How’s that for stakes?

I hope all of you have a great Holiday!!

See ya Feb. 16 for Survivor: Redemption Island.

said Probst. “We have no idea what’s gong to happen. It’s a big risk. It could fail miserably. I don’t think it’s going to.”

that's interesting since the show has already filmed and he's already counted the final votes - so he knows exactly what happened and if it failed or not

He probably means he doesn't know if it fails with the audience, we haven't seen it, so they (production) don't know how the fans are going to react, if we like it or not. It is filmed and votes are in, but they don't know how the audience is going to like it.

Surprising that Jeff isn't shooting down the Russell vs. Rob rumors. Makes me think its true.

He didn't addressed any other rumor like the Jane and Sash :confused3 but who knows, i think we just have to wait and see or maybe wikileaks has some info coming :rotfl: JK.

If is true then Rob was away while Amber was pregnant, I have to go and find out on Facebook.

My husband was away while I was pregnant. Not a big deal if that was the case. I'm sure she has an excellent support system if he was away.

Oh gosh! Her on Survivor!! :scared1::scared1: Yes, she is the one that said.."We live in a land where you can choose same-sex marriage or opposite marriage" Then it was rumors of a sex tape, then she announced that she was knock-up, pregnant and single! What a sinner.. lol JK, Anyway, if she was pregnant how was she in the show, when was the taping? A

Oh I know that. But I read that she had a very hard time with that baby, she had a complicated pregnancy. I don't know for sure, just rumors from facebook.

I think is true... My son went to see the promo video and if you slow the images of the people they show them very fast with the torches, you can maybe see some faces, he said he saw them, I need to watch it again..

Also here is some spoiler site and they're always right...

OK, it was filmed back to back just like Samoa- and Villains vs Heroes.

Thanks for that. Sounds tailor made for Sugar. She was on exile island long enough :lmao:
