Oh they have been thinking with their brains already...just not the right ones! Can I even say that on the DIS????!!!!!

I was thinking the same thing, Becka!:p

Maybe Rob consulted his magic eight ball.

Did you catch the "Girls Gone Wild Amazon Style" remark. I got a big laugh from that.

Does anyone else think that Rob is an obnoxious jerk? I can't wait to have the rest of the tribe pull a "Roger-vote" on him. What a loser.

Yes. I couldn't believe his comment about the only way he would get it on with the girls was if they got drunk enough. The guy isn't that bad looking, so if he's got dating issues, he should look somewhere else for the reason.

I have to agree with you Towncrier.. I think Rob is a Jack A**.. I know Roger wasn't popular around here, but at least he wasn't a backstabber like Rob is. For all of Roger's faults at least you knew how he felt. Rob's phony self-effacement and platitudes make me ill. I, personally, hope he is the next to go.

It seems that each season of these shows has a "Rob" amongst the contestants. I do believe that he will get "his" at some point, I think he is going to start annoying those that he has drawn close. Also, Deena is smart, but she is going a little overboard with the superior attitude and needs to tone it down a little bit.

Several of the others will self destruct before long too.

Okay, here's my list of "they should have known better"s.

Roger should have known better than to wake everyone up making all that racket after they've had a late night. Being the only one on a different schedule is just plain stupid.

Christy should have known to always use "rock" in "rock, paper, sissors"

Butch and Dave should have known to not blindly assume they are back in their old alliance. I don't know if it happened or not, but they didn't show them making any effort to even check it out -they just assumed.

Heidi should have known better than to take her clothes off and talk about threesomes on national tv if she's planning on going back to her teaching job.

Heidi and Jenna should both realize their bodies are not so sexy at this point.

I think the jungle is starting to get to them all!

My DS taped the show for me last night but stopped the tape before they showed who boted for who.
I'm assuming Dave,Roger and Butch voted Christie and everyone else voted Roger, is that right??

Thanks!

Yes, that's who voted for Christie.

disykat, I loved your "should have known better's". I have to say tho, I'm "rock paper scissors" challenged.

You got it! One VERY surprised Roger indeed! Those boys should have reinforced their alliances with the rest of the "males" to make sure all were on the same page. It wouldn't have helped, as a couple of the guys wouldn't have told the truth anyway.

It didn't matter who won immunity last night as long as it wasn't Roger. If Christy had won, then the three men would have voted for Deena. I think thats who they wanted to vote for in the first place.

I think the reason the guys voted for Christy is they've seen how strong she is in the challenges. Now that they've merged, it's time to get rid of the strong players. Jenna and Heidi are just eye candy, pose no threat. Christy and Deena are strong.
This may be their strategy but it is not what Dave said. Dave was told by Jenna that night a few shows back, the boot off order if the girls had remained together. For some strange reason, and he has said this twice now, he is going along those same lines in voting off the girls. First Jeanne and then Christy. Doesn't he realize that by voting this way, he is keeping together an original female alliance??? I don't understand it.

Unless that is just what he is saying and he really digs the skinny bimbos!

Have not visited the CBS website yet and I am already running late for a 6 p.m. meeting so I have yet to check on The-DIS-Tribe score or my own even. Will be back probably late tonight....

Are you ready for this HEIDI teaches MIDDLE SCHOOL and is teaching PE and Health right now to pre-teen girls!!!!!

I did a little digging in our local papers, etc. and I found this article in the Jefferson City Tribune from February 23rd right after the 2nd episode aired.

http://www.newstribune.com/stories/022303/opi_0223030904.asp

When the Eldon Middle School hired the young physical education teacher last year, they got much more than they bargained for.

More than a textbook explanation of the benefits of staying physically fit, this teacher is demonstrating on national television how fitness can help one survive the jungles of the Amazon.

It's applied science to the extreme. And, it's bringing this school lots of attention from around Missouri and, potentially, from around the country.

Heidi Strobel, who teaches in Eldon, Mo., and lives in Jefferson City, is one of 16 contestants on "Survivor," the CBS reality game show that began Feb. 13. After two episodes, it's now down to 14 contestants, and Heidi remains.

For those unfamiliar with the show, each week one contestant is voted off by the others. It's usually someone too weak to help his team win challenges, or too lazy to pull his weight around the campfire, or too much of a game threat to others. The sole survivor after 39 days gets $1 million. In addition to outsmarting other contestants, there's a matter of building shelter, finding food and water, eating and being eaten by odd creatures and staying mentally and physically up to the challenges.

Heidi began teaching at the Eldon Middle School last August, and then in November she headed to a remote area of the Amazon where the show was taped for several weeks. Few knew where she was. Her co-workers were only told she had a prior contractual commitment.

While she was away, there was speculation that she was doing a stint in the Peace Corp or had a modeling contract.

She returned to her job in mid-December -- several pounds lighter -- but it wasn't until Jan. 14 that CBS revealed the contestants in "Survivor: The Amazon." The announcement electrified the school.

"It has been absolutely exciting," said Dana Ilgenfritz, a science teacher at the school. Several teachers now gather each Thursday night to watch the show.

"I told my family I'm not doing anything else on Thursday nights," said Jackie Henderson, who teaches reading.

Superintendent Rodney Haley said that while the school is excited, "We've tried to do everything we can to make sure it doesn't interfere with the school day."

Newspaper and television reporters from St. Louis, Kansas City and Springfield have visited the school in the past several days, but they are not allowed access to the 325 seventh and eighth graders.

The only visible sign of the buzz is a yellow paper chain draping the school office with words of encouragement from the students, such as "I hope you win" and "Girls rule!"

Of course, the school community believes Heidi will be the winner; she was instrumental in her all-female team beating the all-male team in the first challenge. Her colleagues say she is tenacious and disciplined. She's a long-distance runner dedicated to fitness. She's also described as modest, low-key and smart.

It also must be said that the blonde, 24-year-old native of Buffalo, Mo., and graduate of Drury University in Springfield looks great in a bikini.

After the first episode, she was tied for second-most popular contestant in a CBS website poll. She also is a favorite among some of the male contestants, who made that clear in the first episode.

Their locker-room comments drew objections from several students, said Principal Chris Miller.

Counselor Linda Greeson said Heidi's display of dedication toward a difficult goal is a good lesson for her students. "She's a great role model, especially for kids this age. This is a time when girls in particular don't have a lot of self-confidence."

The winner of the show is kept a secret until the final episode, scheduled for May 15, and until then Heidi is forbidden to talk about the show. But, following the final episode, the principal has asked her to talk at a school assembly about the lessons learned from her experience, especially reality vs. Hollywood.

Already, Heidi has been spotted like a celebrity around Jefferson City. As her recognition grows with each show, a little Hollywood will no doubt invade Heidi's reality.

HAHAHA! That is too funny! I'm sure she's spreading lots of self-confidence with those comments about the "cute girls". :D

Can anyone else visualize the emergency school board meeting being held tonight after everyone in town watched last night's show?

Bet the switchboard was ringing at that school today!

I was very upset with the show being moved to Wed night yesterday...I teach until 7:30  I made it home just in time to see Roger get the boot...

Well "cute girl" Heidi was the lead story on the local news this morning. It appears that her Survivor appearance may be causing her some trouble with her teaching job. Ya think?

The superintendent has said that they "are very disappointed in her conduct on the show" and that this issue will most likey come up at the next school board meeting. As you can imagine there are people in our community that do not think she should be teaching while others are behind her all the way (mostly men I bet ;) ). She called into a Columbia radio station this morning to defend her actions as just being "entertainment" and she does not feel that this should affect her job.

Around here our middle school is 6, 7, and 8th grades... I can't think of a WORSE age for her to be teaching! Put a fork in her- I think she's done.

That was my exact thoughts when I first saw how she was behaving and I knew she was a teacher. I was really hoping that is was the high school. Even the elementary schoool would be better because while parents may have to explain a lot maybe a lot of it would go over their heads. Middle school is such a difficult age especially for girls and to have their PE teacher on national TV talking about how much better the "cute skinny girls" are over the "fat" girls has got to be damaging. :(
