Survivor All Star OFFICIAL THREAD!

Well, Sue went out loudly in Borneo when she let Kelly have it, and now she let Jeff/Rich, etc. have it. Due to the editing, we can't be sure how bad the "violation" of her was. I do tend to agree that she should have said something when it happened or right after the challenge was over, but then I'm not stranded on some deserted island with very little food for the past 16-17 days. I can imagine the stress plays tricks with your mind.

But I'm glad Sue is gone, one way or the other. Can't wait to see what Sue and Rich have to say on the Morning Show.

And I'm really getting sick of Shii Ann and her adoration of Rich!! How many times has she said "I know Richard Hatch and he would never do that deliberately" and "Richard Hatch is the master." Get rid of her already!!!! Sounds like Colby has had it with her, too.

I would think my gut reaction if somebody did to me what rich did would be to push him away or move back. I saw neither of that happening. If there was such a prolonged time of "rubbing" why just stand there? Why not jump off or bring it to Jeffs attention. She should have done something right away. I have it taped so I'm going to watch that part again. Can't say I'll miss her.

I did catch something interesting last night tho. When they were doing the rewards challange I told my family that Shianns team was going to win. I knew this because if you remember the scene where Colby and Shiann are in the hut lying down talking Shiann is eating an orange and I wondered to myself where she got that from. A little out of order editing apparently.......

Amen! She is like a stupid, star-struck girl. She has no game plan, just go along with whatever, and I really don't think anybody takes her seriously in this game.....at least not from what I've seen. BTW, how does she know Richard Hatch so very well??? She's GOT TO GO!

I noticed that, too, but thought maybe it was a piece of lemon or something. I hadn't thought about it being the orange. Very observant!

From Sue's statement on the Early Show, I think she was compensated financially by Mark and the show.::yes::

I wondered that too, cheeringmom.

I am sorry she felt violated, but I did feel she overreacted. I was once the victim of a non-violent sexual incident and I felt mad and bad about it, but certainly did not behave that way and my encounter was done on purpose and was explicitly sexual. (I won't go into details, it's too disgusting!) To keep screaming that you were sexually violated over that particular incident said to me that either mentally she was out of the game or else she figured she couldn't win the whole thing and if she sues, CBS will give her a settlement somewhat larger than what she would have won if she stayed. Could she be that clever?

I watched Sue and Richard on the Early Show this morning. They were both cool and calm and Sue played down the whole issue. It appears that the two of them worked things out while they were still on the island and that there are no hard feelings between the two of them. During the interview this morning, Harry tried to fire them up and get something going, but there was no anger nor was there any animosity between the two of them. Based on the teasers for this morning's show, it was a real let down.

I just watched Sue and Rich on the morning show and it felt like the Twilight Zone. She completely downplayed it and let him off the hook, and he was completely clueless that anything happened at all. He said he wasn't aware of having done anything, he thought he just walked past her on the plank. Sue admitted it was just that couple of seconds that we saw, nothing was edited out. All he really did was brush past her. She made it sound last night like he stood there and purposely rubbed against her for an extended amount of time. The host asked her if being hungry and tired may have contributed to her outburst, and she said no, that they had a lot of food out there, and that she had been in good shape mentally and physically.

Rich didn't have much to say at all, just that everyone thought Sue was really tough, but that she apparently is somewhat sensitive.

I have yet to watch last night's episode. I had a splitting headache and went to bed. DH taped it and I will watch it with him tonight. (I don't know how to work that video machine! :o )

Anyway, I wasn't going to go on this thread or watch The Early Show this a.m. but I couldn't help myself and I first watched The Early Show and then came here. I had an inkling Sue would take herself out of the game because I read that rumour somewhere but I really didn't believe she would forfeit a million dollars like that. I spoke with Sister on phone late last night and she said she could not wait to see The Early Show and she told me I ruin things for myself by reading spoilers. So without really saying so, she basically told me that Sue did walk off the game. Felt I had nothing to lose by watching morning program.

I totally agree - BIG YAWN! Here is a link to the show for anyone who is interested:

HAWK and HATCH - Getting Past It

Still can't wait to see my recording of last night's show. Sister said it was a really good episode, even though you guys are saying it was boring.

Oh - Also, I believe on the morning show they played the incident in its entirety. I think previously video was edited. Edited for what, however, is the question because it really didn't look that bad to me and it only lasted a few seconds. However, I was not the one EXPERIENCING what Sue experienced and I may well have reacted the very same way if I had - delayed time reaction and all.

I saw the second half of the interview. While they were calm and collected, there is no love lost between them. Personally, I don't think that Richard cares one way or the other. But when Sue was questioned, something was mentioned about her not wanting to be there (at the studio) within 6" of Richard and I got the impression that that was correct.

The interviewer did ask Richard if he wanted to apologize to Sue and he responded that they have worked things out and no apology was necessary. He did say that he was sorry that it upset her so badly.

They also did say that each misunderstood each other's intentions in that challenge. He thought Sue was waiting for him to confront him in some way, hence his reaction towards her.

I think that, even though the interview was boring and that we were expecting and would have like to have seen fireworks, it was good that they were cordial. They never really actually spoke to each other that I saw, just responded to the interviewer.

As for last night's show, I knew something was up when the show went for 30 minutes without a reward challenge.

And as for Rupert not showing caring or compassion for Jenna or Sue, I think that that is due to editing. It did show him trying to talk to Sue a couple of times. We have to remember that they only show us what they want us to see. Just as in the case of Boston Rob, even though he is being shown as a more likable character this time around, there are still the little clips of where he says he is running the show. Maybe he is, we won't really know until the game plays out.

Another thing. Here is a quote from today's show by Richard:

"I got to say to her that I didn't appreciate what, from my perspective, was her kind of taunting me… From my perspective. I realize that she doesn't see it that way… Sue and I have worked it out. You know, we see it from two different perspectives. It's not about her apologizing to me or, from my perspective, about my apologizing to her… I'm so sorry that she feels this way. I'm so sorry that it's been so emotional for her. I do feel for her very, very much."

The part I put in bold is NOT what he said. He said "about her apologizing to me or, from my perspective, about HER apologizing to HER!" I was like: WHAT?! Again, probably slip of tongue and he meant what the official quote said but Sue sorta made a funny face as he was saying that.

Also - Transcript made no mention about how they discussed the teams being given different instruction. They were suppose to leave by one beam and return on another, according to Sue, while Hatch said his team was not given such instructions. This is Sue's reasoning for wanting to go on the beam Hatch was on.

And as for Rupert not showing caring or compassion for Jenna or Sue, I think that that is due to editing. It did show him trying to talk to Sue a couple of times.

I completely agree with Kirby.

After watching a week of the live feeds for Big Brother last summer, it became obvious that what we see on TV usually is edited to the point that a completely false impression of the contestants is given.

I think this creative editing will eventually lead to the downfall of reality shows.

Do you think now they will have a new rule on the show about clothing being mandatory and not an option? Probably not, but it wouldn't be a bad idea to avoid more problems in the future, not to mention it's totally annoying to watch!

If they did that, they would certainly lose a lot of viewers.......

Remember Jenna and Heidi - nobody seemed to care when they did it even Jeff  LOL! Even Osten - come to think of it there is a lot of nudity in Survivor!

It's just the double standard - no one really wants to see Richard naked - but Colby or Ethan......:magnify: LOL again!!!

I was thinking the same thing. There is no way she backed down this much without compensation.

Didn't she saw something along the lines of "CBS and Mark Burnett helped me cope...."

Personally, IF anyone would of rubbed up against me, naked or fully clothed, and I felt it innappropriate, I would of yelled to high heavens right then and there!! ::yes:: Then again, the offending party would be yelling just as loud, only for a different reason!!!! :earseek: :teeth:

They probably let her keep the same $25K they gave all the others who had already been voted out (which she may have had to forfeit by leaving the game precipitously like she did), not to mention the $5 million fine she faces if she reveals information about the show with the show not being at-fault.

Sorry for coming into this a little late but here's my opinion of the Sue/Richard incident.

There were three people that had complete control of that situation. Jeff, Richard and Sue. Sue ultimately had the final say in how that situation could have turned out. She could have stopped the game because she saw the close contact people were having with each other and that Richard was naked. She could have requested that they make him at least put his pants on.

It might have been real hard on her but I think she went WAY overboard with her reaction.
