Survivor 23--South Pacific--No Spoilers**Wed 9/14**

My heartbroke for Brandon, How horrible for his family to treat him like that for just trying to be a nice guy and play a good game.

Russel, Agh wow glad to see you never change.

I wonder if next season is Russel verses Brandon, I hope not Russel will break Brandon heart.

I thought Coach was going to win, Sophie was crazy, her little crying all the time

I really wanted Ozzy to win. He was the most deserving competitor to win it.

Never liked Sohpie. I am convinced that the reason why they didn't send Sophie to NYC for the Early Show is because she was dull and boring wouldn't bring in extra ratings.

Felt really bad for Brandon and his family issues and how harsh his Uncle appeared.

What a lackluster final three. I didn't like ANY of them, but I suppose I would have preferred to see Coach win, since he was the mastermind and STILL managed to be pleasant.

Hopefully next season is better.

Agree overall with this post. Poor Brandon - what a screwed-up wreck of a homelife he must have had. Best thing he could do is move his kids and his wife far far away from them all and start over somewhere. Russell is scum, and a menace to society.

My Ozzy was ROBBED again!!! But I knew, as soon as he lost that challenge, that he was going out. No way would they keep him in when he is so overwhelmingly popular, as was shown by the crowd reactions. And like my DH said last night, OF COURSE he is arrogant, he is a "warrior" and he can do just about anything physically. I would imagine if you went back historically to just about anyone who was very good at what they did, or someone who was a "warrior" or a "champion" that they would all be pretty arrogant. What do you WANT him to do, shuffle a toe in the dust and give you the "awwwwwwww shucks, I ain't no good at that" routine? Then, of course, he would be accused of lying, so I guess he can't win either way. And I loved his "love of nature, I find god in nature" answer. SO much less annoying than the nationally-broadcast prayer circles.

And Sophie - BLAH. I really felt like she won by default. Everyone on the jury was so annoyed by all three of the finalists, I think they were just voting for the "lesser of three evils". That, and the fact that she did well in challenges, is probably all that got her that check.

Glad Ozzie won the fan favorite money.

Sophie is awhiny brat. But Coach never had a legit chance to win.

Notice how they dropped all that prayer circle stuff as soon as Brandon was gone.

The Hanz family . . . They should be ashamed.

During the gsme Cochran came off as the geeky fan, but during the reunion show he sounded like the Harvard Sociologist. Reminds me of another Harvard student . . . Zuckerberg.

I still can't get over how Coach can go on about honour, loyalty and trust and actually play the way he does.

Easy. It's a strategy that worked. It got him to the final three and also came close to the win.

Sophie just won if she makes the final 3 with coach and albert.

Good call.

I think that if Ozzy goes to the final 3, he wins. Glad Sophie won immunity.

It looked like that from when Probst did the jury query.

oh on ya face ozzy! Don't go around making girls cry.

:lmao:

I'm sad for Ozzie to make it that far and win so many challenges only to be eliminated at the very end. He deserved to win.

If it came down to just physical play, then he certainly deserved it. I don't think anyone has won this game on strict game play alone since Richard Hatch. Since then it's pretty much been a popularity contest.

I just hope that if they bring back preious players again, that the new players are smart enough to vote them out early in the game.

If you were playing and you had Ozzy on your team, would you really vote him off and risk losing team immunity challenges? I'd have to think about keeping a strong player until the merge, then he/she would be the first to go. Of course then you run the risk of people being star struck like they were with Coach.

Brandan forgives Coach but calls Albert a liar. :lmao::lmao::lmao::lmao:

Yeah, I thought that was pretty funny too. But don't forget, Brandon knows that God told Coach to try and win a million bucks.

Ah is Coach admitting he is just a greedy person that wanted to get to the final 3, :lmao:

Sure. Isnt' that why they're all there?

Why in the world would Sophie save Coach? All she had to do was keep her mouth shut while Coach tried to explain himself to Cochrane.

I was amazed at that too. Um, Sophie? Coach just handed you the million. Oh, you don't want it? Okay.

Edna had the best speech EVER!

Don't know if it was "the best speech EVER" but it certainly was good. It always amazes me how people lose sight of the fact that it's just a game and not real life.

I don't care who you took Coach, I still will say you are not a man of your word.

At least not during a game where the rule is to try and win by outwitting your opponents. Of course that has nothing to do with the real world.

Right? Ughh. How about that jerk Russell in the audience? Why do they waste air time on that loser?

Because it makes for 'good' TV. If you hate him then they pretty much have to show him. But he is a jerk. A great player, but a jerk. He should have said something like, "I'm your uncle and I don't care if you played a different game then I did. I'm proud of you for playing as well as you could."

The Hantz family should be ashamed of themselves. :sad2::sad2::sad2:

Yeah, I thought Brandon was a bit of a naive nutjob, but I don't think he deserved to be there all alone.

Not a fan of Brandon's but gees his family is harsh

Major issues if they compare him and russel and russel comes up on top

::yes::

As for Ozzy....I'm glad he won the 100k. He worked damn hard on that island!

The final three.....
Sophie :confused3
Coach
Albert :lmao:

Yes he did. Now if only he would learn when to stop talking.

I wonder why the final three didn't do the farewell to each of all the previous players? I think this is the first season they haven't done it. I wish they had (even tho I always found it kind of annoying) because I forgot who the early players were.

I completely forgot about that! I wonder, why they didn't?

Never liked Sohpie. I am convinced that the reason why they didn't send Sophie to NYC for the Early Show is because she was dull and boring wouldn't bring in extra ratings.

I thought that after 23 seasons, it wasn't really a big deal anymore and didn't merit the Early Show airtime anymore.

I think that next season has already been played. I definately don't want to see a Brandon vs Russell.

I could have swore I saw a commercial last night advertising that the winner would be on the Early Show.

One thing, this show is edited the way they want us to perceive each player. We only see what they want us to see.

When they kept showing Russell in the audience and then the interview, I couldn't help but think about championship "wrestling." Poor Brandon, I just had to feel so sorry for him.

That said, I would have liked to have seen Coach have the guts to take Ozzy to the end with him (though I really didn't want Ozzy to win). If he'd taken Rick instead of Sophie, Coach would have won the game, though.

I've said for years I'd like to see them play this game in a cold climate, with snow and everything. It would make a totally different game (and think about having to be cooped in a house/structure with teammates 24/7!)

DH and I were just saying last night what we always say every season...they film 24/7 (and how many cameras on how many different people at the same time), and we see less than an hour each week. Knowing the outcome of the game and every thing that happened along the way, they take what they want us the viewers to see to have a certain perception of the players and how they played. I've said in the past...I would love (if I had a ton of time to waste in my life, and God help me if I ever do!) to see all the raw footage to see what REALLY happened.

I don't care for Brandon, but I did feel sorry for him, poor guy. Doesn't sound like he has a very supportive family.

Glad Sophie won!

Glad Ozzie didn't win. Can't stand his arrogance.

I really hoped for an Ozzy win. He may not be the brightest bulb on the tree, but physically he was way better than the others.
I can totally see why the jury had a dilemma about who to vote for. Coach was a hypocritical slimebag manipulating players by their faith, Albert was useless...he kept coming up with "game-changing" strategy, then never implementing it, and Sophie was indeed an arrogant b**ch. Too bad they couldn't vote "none of the above"!

That's just it. It's not about physical strength only, it's also about strategy and socializing...and those last two things were his weaknesses.

That's why I don't care for him on Survivor. He comes across as extremely arrogant, IMO...and I don't care for arrogance. Self-confidence is fine, but arrogance isn't very flattering.

He may very well end up in the finals, but he won't win...he isn't popular from a social standpoint. I would think the other Survivor contestants do not like him and that's why he will not win. If he would knock down the arrogance by a notch or two, I would think he stands a better chance of winning.

I think Probst's informal poll showed that to be an incorrect assumption.

Dang it--stupid football has postponed survivor for an hour!!! Now it won't start here until 9--no way will I stay awake until the end tonight!!

I stayed up until the Russell interview, then tried to go to sleep. Couldn't fall sleep, so watched the remainder of the reunion show. I am so tired at work today :rotfl2:

Absolutely!

I missed. It helped serve as a quick rehash of all the players. But wasn't it the usually final four, before the last challenge?

Who's going to want to watch all those models they cast wrapped up in parkas? Give me the tropics and bikinis any day. And for you female fans, you'll miss those abs :lmao:

You know, I was rather appalled during the "house of cards" challenge when Sophie demanded that Albert stop competing and help her win. She was really quite insistent until Jeff told her no helping was allowed.
Do you suppose the jury knew about that? Would it have turned off any jurors from voting for her? It sure would have me!
It kinda negates her claim that she is really a nice person, just misunderstood :confused3

I don't remember if it was final four or final three, but I know they didn't do the "walk down memory lane" last night.

I was waiting for Ozzy to speak up about it to defend why he thought Sophie was a brat. If he did, they didn't show it.

I did not see this as selfish on her part. She felt she was close to beating Ozzy. She knew if Ozzy won immunity for this challenge and the next, then he would win the game, and it wouldn't matter who was in the final three with them. So the only way Albert had a chance to win was if someone beat Ozzy, even if he didn't do it himself. I think if Albert were allowed to help her, it would have been a benefit for both Sophie and Albert. I don't think they should be allowed to help each other.

I think Probst even said it....that they were not allowed to help each other.

The thing I don't get about Survivors (the players, not the game itself) is the indignity and self-righteousness. The Savaii 6 would have done the EXACT SAME THING to the Upolu group at the merge (systematically wipe them out one at a time until only Savaii members were left and then they would have had to turn on each other) had they been given the opportunity. Edna was 100% right. the game is about lying and manipulating. EVERYONE does it. You have to to make it to the end.

The jury tends to be more about sour grapes.
