Survivor 20**HvV**No SPOILER THREAD**

My question...where the heck did the paper and pen come from????

Even if they did, who would take a pen and paper?

I'm torn on this one. My first reaction was where did they get that pen and paper (nice bright white clean paper no less ;)) but then I was thinking maybe it was someone's luxury item for keeping a journal. The ways that Russell always seems to be spared from the vote are getting a little too convenient.

Since he was "robed" last season and was send back to another season with the rest of the players in disadvantage because they had never got to see him on his season.

I don't know, maybe I'm wrong, it was just to good, they should know better not to trust the other tribe and the whole heroes tribe went along. Then how Russell knows that Parvarti has an idol, he didn't see them and they didn't say anything.

So can anyone confirm that the heroes won their comfort items???

I dont recall them winning them but Colby has his Texas flag, he is once again using it as a tarp at the Heroes camp. That was his luxury item in Australia

I first thought about a written journal but they have a video journal of their experience.

JT is a dope. Colby is too. Wonder if the rest of the tribe was in agreement to give the idol to Russell?

eta: I'm not really enjoying this season. Last season was so much better.

I remember that.

I don't think the producers really care who wins. I just think they care about who stays on for ratings. If Russell was voted out, ratings would go downhill. There's just nobody interesting enough left. Think about it:

Colby - Dull
Rupert - Dull
Amanda - Dull
Candace - Dull
JT - Dull
Sandra - Dull
Jerri - Used to be a great villain, but she's gone all soft
Danielle - Dull
Parvati - Annoying
Russell - Golden Ticket

All the interesting players (Rob, James, Coach, Tom, Stephanie, Tyson) are already gone.

::yes::

I thought of luxury items, but we haven't heard of luxury itmes for a few years now. I really don't think they are allowed them anymore.

Another thing that stood out to me, is later on, after the challenge, back at camp, we see one of the girls sitting on a log, with the pen and paper. To me, that makes it seem like this pen and paper was a new thing. Kind of like "My turn to play with something I haven't seen in almost a month."

As a PP mentioned, when have the opposing tribes ever hugged each other after a challenge? In fact, years ago, the teams were not allowed to have any interaction with each other at challenges. During the All-Star season, Rob took a REAL risk by whispering to Lex to take care of Amber. If Jeff heard him, he would of been in trouble.

In one of the videos Amanda has a little piece of paper with names, she also mentioned that JT would be the only one that can cost her the million dollars, well if she think he is, why she went along with the idol thing?

Cute moment of the night:

When Jerri and Colby were matched up at the endurance challenge. Jerri poked her head out and said Hi to Colby.

If you remember Season two of Survivor, you know that Jerri had a HUGE crush on Colby and Colby was like a 2nd grader trying to get away from the girl with cooties. LOL Wherever he went, there was Jerri. It was fun to watch. Even though I wanted her gone so badly.

So when she said hi in a flirty voice, I had to laugh.

Amanda said something to the camera that she thought it was bad idea but she didn't express herself to anyone else. I think if she had gone to Colby and Candice, they might have been able to talk JT out of doing it. But alas....we will never know.

Anyone who wanted to keep a journal of their experience. I know I would.

As opposed to a pillow? Or a blanket? Or a toothbrush?

And if that was his luxury item, wouldn't we have seen him using it before? They show Coach doing his tai-chi or whatever it is in the middle of the ocean.

Jeff Probst mentioned in his weekly EW blog where the pen and paper came from.

JT’s hand-written letter to Russell is the kind of moment that reality producers dream about. You just can’t believe it’s really happening and you hold your breath that he won’t change his mind. (By the way, you’re no doubt wondering where they got pen and paper? It was part of Amanda’s luxury item that they won in an earlier episode.)

He also mentioned something interesting about whether Russell had an advantage since the other players didn't get to see him play.

There’s been a lot of debate about whether Russell had an advantage or a disadvantage since nobody knew anything about him coming into this season. My take is that he had neither. We told everybody at the start of the show that they should read a lot into the fact that while they hadn’t seen Russell play, Russell was selected as one of the 5 most notorious male villains of all time. These are seasoned players, they knew this meant that Russell was a bad dude. On the flip side, when we asked Russell to join the H v V cast, we told him there is a very good chance you’ll be voted out early because nobody knows you, nobody has played with you and therefore nobody can trust you. Russell knew that was a risk going in. So both sides had fair warning. They were just as likely to vote him out in episode one for fear of the unknown as they were to keep him. Once Russell survived a couple of votes and showed what kind of player he is – intimidating, calculating, cunning – all bets were off.

Plus, you can't forget, Russell likes to brag, so I am sure everyone on his tribe knows he made it to the end in his season.

I just stumbled accross this thread. It is great to hear othe people's opinions on what is happening. I know someone mentioned it, but one of the secret scenes available on cbs is Russell talking about how he will get out of the bind with the Heroes since Parvati isn't gone.

1. He plans on telling everyone that Sandra is lying and he did play the idol, and that she is in charge of the women's alliance.
2. If he can convince them that Sandra is lying, he will then seel them on the fact that Parvati played her idol which kept her in the game.

The producers wanted it to seem like Parvati didn't tell Russell about the idol, but it looks like she has if you watch the secret video.

Some people love to write.

In the past, folks have brought journals, paint supplies and other things.

It is more plausible than a techie giving it to them so that JT can do the dumbest thing ever.

If this happens and he says it with a straight face, it might save this season for me.:lmao:

Why do you question this?

People have brought very interesting things--some useful, some comforting, some just for kicks.

They haven't shown much of anyone and their luxury items. They record 24/7--and luxury items usually have little to do with the outcome of an episode.

Coach doing Tai-chi is just one of his idiosyncracies. He can do that without the assistance of a luxury item--which of course he didn't in.

Russell has been in no danger for weeks. There is nothing convenient about him avoiding elimination.

DOH!!! That has to be the dumbest move in the history of Survivor -- JT believes in the girl alliance, Colby does, too -- and Rupert, well ... he definitely does.

I had to laugh at tribal council when Coach came in in his "sho-gun" robe.
