Surviving Fay Disney Style

Aubrey does look like "Stephanie"! LOL Really, though. She just looks so beautiful in those pictures.

I know we weren't there on the same day  but those Princesses sure do look familiar! DD said, "Look, Mom. It's our Princesses". I thought they were so great and attentive to the kids at Akershus. I'm glad Aubrey got to spend time with Ariel! My DD was all about Jasmine this trip.

Loving the report, as usual. The 1900 PF video just strengthens my resolve to eat there next time. The step-sisters look like they are a hoot!

Did you continue to use the buses in the rain? Was it horrible running back to the buses?

Yes - she does look like Stephanie Judith Tanner! I loved that show!

I just read through the trip report - looks like you guys had a great time despite the storm. I'm glad that Disney is able to accommodate people with specific needs in regards to the rides - but it's too bad that you encountered some nasty CMs along the way.

You have to do 1900 PF. We absolutely love it! We did continue to use the buses as we had no other choice!:lmao: It did get bad at times with the rain but for the most part it wasn't terrible. A few times we had to wait a long time for a bus but not that often. It was manageable.

Welcome aboard and thanks! WE did have a great time despite the weather. I can not tell you how much better this trip was now that we know about the GAC and the stroller tag. There just aren't enough words to describe it.

 im really loving this TR. watching all of those days thinking "Man it must be a wet day" and you think your trip is real wet:rotfl: then you watch on tv and radar and see that the storms just stayed away. come to think about it, you could have been completely rained out:scared1: it was disney:wizard: i tell ya.

We woke up to more rain...:sad2: :sad2: It was actually coming down hard again. Buddy and I got up first so we tried calling to see if we could somehow change our breakfast ADR for a little later in the day. We thought that would allow the kids to sleep in a bit as well as give the rain some time to let up. Well we struck out, so we left things as they were. Buddy and I got ready first and then woke the kids and got them ready. Aubrey put on her Minnie Mouse dress as we were eating at CMs! Our original plan was to take the bus to MK then hit the monorail. Well by the time we got to MK it was raining quite hard and we figured by the time we walked over to the monorail, we would be just as wet as we would be from just walking on over to the CR. So we set off for our hike. About half way there, the wind started to whip. Several times dh had to help push the stroller because of how strong the winds were.:scared1:

I had to split this because of the number of pics..

We finally made it inside and up to the 4th floor. Now I did not realize how much construction was still going on inside. We checked in and stopped by for our customary picture with the plate..

The place was a mad house. They were backed up because of a roof leak over two or three of the tables. We didn't have to wait too long though before we were seated. We arrived just in time for the party...

We did manage to get some food into the kids before the characters arrived so that was good!:rotfl2: Here are a few pics from the morning..

As you can tell the kids had a great time. This is another of our favorites. After breakfast we asked Aubrey if she wanted to go to Epcot or MK. She chose MK so we hopped onto the monorail and off we went. Aubrey made a little friend on the monorail. Another little girl that was going to start 1st grade on the 25th. She was a sweet little girl and she and her mom were enjoying a few more hours in MK before they had to drive home.:sad2:

When we got off the monorail Aubrey decided she wanted to ride the train. So dh took the stroller and Ashton and we decided we would meet in Toon Town. Riding on the train was neat for me as it had been awhile since I had been on it. It was neat to see inside Splash Mountain! The rain had also let up for a bit so once we met with dh Aubrey hopped on the stroller and we headed for the barnstormer. Now Ashton had a fit that he couldn't get on this ride with me. But one of the CMs took care of him by giving him stickers and talking to him until we got back! :cloud9:

Now keep in mind that we had just eaten with Mickey and the gang, but Aubrey decided she wanted to take Ashton to see Pluto, Goofy and Donald over at the county fair. Fairy Godmother came out today to do crowd control! Our pics didn't turn out very good on this one. But once inside they turned out great.

First was Donald..

Then Pluto..

Then Goofy...Ashton was really hamming it up by now and he and Aubrey decided to play hide and seek with Goofy!

After my gang was done playing with "The Gang" LOL Aubrey wanted to ride the Indy cars again. So far the rain was still holding off so we were able to do a few more outdoor things. Up next was the teacups, this time Ashton rode with DH and he just didn't spin it. Aubrey on the other hand was yelling at me to spin faster!:rotfl: Next we rode Pooh again, Ashton loves this ride! Of course after Pooh Aubrey wanted to ride Dumbo again. So far we were still dry! We decided to just finish our way around Fantasy land so we hit PP and IASW again.

When we came out of IASW the bottom fell out of the sky! It was raining buckets, etc (add in any old saying you want, it was doing it!) We donned the ponchos and gave Aubrey the umbrella and made our way to the covered area by The Hall of Presidents. Dh stayed here with the kids while I ran in the rain to the Christmas shop. I had not bought our customary ornaments yet and didn't want to take a chance come the Dec trip. Last Dec they were out of everything! Of course by the time I had made my selections the rain stopped.:lmao: I had the ornaments personalized and shipped home. I hope I have them sometime this week.:santa:

Dh figured since we were already wet this would the perfect time for he and Aubrey to ride splash mountain. They headed over and I took Ashton and we watched for them to come down the hill. I tried to take a pic but I never saw them! I didn't see them until they were on their way back in. I have no idea how I missed them.

Aubrey and I tried to ride BTMRR but it was broken so we decided it was time for drinks and a snack for everyone. We headed over to the little eatery that is by the Country Bears (I have no idea what it is called... ) We got an order of Chili Cheese fries and some drinks for us all. Well one of the CMS was having a blast with Aubrey and Ashton and gave them both a cookie!:cloud9:

Once the bellies were full we headed over to the magic carpets again. Once again as we got off the ride, the bottom fell out. We started making our way over to POC when we saw Jasmine and Aladdin but we couldn't get in line as they were only allowing the first few that were there because of the rain. Luckily Aubrey didn't see them!:) After POC we told Aubrey to choose one more ride. It was getting late and the rain was picking up quite a bit. She chose to ride Snow White.

We managed to get back to the room before the rain really came down hard. Dh went to the food court and got dinner for us all while I got the kids cleaned up and started packing. Aubrey was incredibly hungry so after she finished her dinner she ate part of dh's dinner. He had gotten the muffalatta (I have no idea if I spelled that right!) Now I'm really surprised she ate this but she loved it. So we manage to get the kids to sleep I got a little more packing done and had just settled into bed when I hear Aubrey gag and then dh screams GROSS!

 I guess that sandwich wasn't such a good idea after all! Aubrey sits up and in her biggest grown up voice says "I'm sorry Daddy, I can't help it if I have to throw up!"

Let me tell you we all were in hysterics. I have no idea why or how Ashton managed to sleep thru it all! It really was funny though. I managed to get some composure and called housekeeping to bring us a new bed! I have no idea why Aubrey was so adamant about sleeping with dh but I wasn't complaining, I had a bed to myself. One that was clean on top of it! :rotfl2: It was everywhere. Aubrey and dh got in my bed and I waited up for housekeeping. She was so nice, she made it all up quickly and before long we were all asleep again. But would we be for long?:rolleyes1

That is so cute that goofy played hide and seek with the kids.

Looks like you got a decent amount done despite the rain, that is great:goodvibes

I had that same experience with DS on our last trip. He had caught a stomach bug and we called housekeeping 3 times...but 3rd time, I just asked them to bring me two more full set of sheets and we take care of it. I felt so bad:sick:

Hope Aubrey felt better in the morning

capt, dar she blows:lmao: poor poor daddy. only at WDW.:headache: but it is all so worth it. the best memories!!!!! now where is the REST!!!!!! i hope the weather is nice to you. and no problems.

As usual, the pics of the kids are too cute. I'm sorry Aubrey got sick. We have been lucky, so far, that none of our DS's have gotten sick on a WDW vacation.

Aubrey did fine the rest of the night, but she kept coughing in her sleep. Of course every little noise she made woke me up so I got very little sleep that night. When she woke up she had a pretty bad runny nose so I started her on some benadryl right away. Aubrey is HIGHLY allergic to all types of mold and all the rain had not helped that issue one bit. But a few Benadryl later and she was feeling better.

We got the kids ready and finished packing up the last few things and headed to the ME check in counter. A note for any of you flying in soon using ME and the resort bag check in etc. They have been having problems with the airline computer for months now. I had to wait in line for over an hour and that was just to check the bags. They were not able to print our boarding passes. So make sure you allow plenty of time.

While I waited with the luggage dh took the kids to the food court for breakfast. We finished up about the same time and it was almost time to get on our bus to the airport. Aubrey and I ran into the gift store for the first time the entire trip. I bought her a mickey head necklace that matches the ring she got for Christmas last year.

We walked on out front as we had about 20 more mins until our scheduled bus. When we got outside there was a bus there and the driver asked us if we were going on the ME. We said yes but that we had a bus scheduled in 20 mins. He said his bus was pretty empty so we could go with him if we wanted to. We chose to and it was probaby a wise choice as we still had to print our boarding passes at the airport.

The rest of the morning was pretty uneventful, we stopped at Burger King on the way to the gate and fed the kids lunch, as well as ourselves. Once we got to the gate we found some seats that were near the windows with an open area and just let the kids run wild...

The kids were great on the flight. Ashton took a nap and Aubrey and I watched her mix max and played with her toys. All in all a very uneventful flight which is just the way I like it.

Once we arrived in Houston we had the task of collecting all of our luggage. It didn't take long and we were on our way back to the van. I was never so glad to have the kids back in carseats!:lmao: Ashton could be the poster child for car seat usage! He would not sit still. It was nice to have my lap and my arms free!

We hit the house and the luggage exploded everywhere. I checked the voice mails on the home phone and had about a kajillion and one from John (KYcruisecrazy):rotfl: He had been watching the storm and calling our house with updates until he realized he wasn't calling my cell!:rotfl2: It would be an early night for all of us. We were wiped out. Aubrey immediately started talking about our next trip to Disney. I'm sure both kids were still dreaming of Mickey and the gang that night. One thing for sure it had been a great vacation and we were home safe and that really is all that mattered.

A few final thoughts. Of course the rain was annoying, a bit of a pain at times. But your vacation is what you make of it and in 6 trips to Disney in as many years this was the first time we had encountered rain while there. So it was bound to happen. We were very fortunate to not get the brunt of the storm and as I said we only had a couple of days with heavy rain. Sure we had our moments where someone had a melt down (adults included) but it didn't take long before the next bit of :wizard: hit us and we were back to having a blast. My family is far from perfect, but we sure are as close as you can get when we are at Disney. We are all very excited about our upcoming trip in Dec. It is special to us for many reasons. First we will be celebrating 10 yrs of marriage. We were actually suppose to go to WDW for our honeymoon but due to some unexpected circumstances we were unable to do so. It will be like a second honeymoon if you will. Second, we will be there with Kycruisecrazy and his family. We are so happy to be seeing them again and to be at Disney with people who love it as much as we do is the icing on the cake! Third, we will be there Christmas day and I don't know about you but what better way to spend your Christmas!

I hope you have enjoyed reading the report. I have had a blast writing it and reliving all the memories. KYcruisecrazy and I are hoping to do a joint report on the Dec trip so be sure to read it too! Thanks for letting me share my wonderful family and our vacation with you. Take care and I hope you all have as wonderful a vacation as we did!

Your entire report was just terrific! You have a great attitude and have a wonderful family. I hope that you have a very magical time in December, when you go back!

That was a great end to a wonderful trip report. Again, the pics of the kids were cute. I love the one of Aubry sitting by the window looking at the plane.

Great start...I can't wait to hear how Fay treated you! I had to chuckle when you referred to your Nav system in the car as "Alice"! We call ours SAL, because DH thinks she sounds like the female version of HAL from the movie 2001:A Space Odyssey!!!! :lmao:

My sis calls hers "Minnie Driver" HA!

What a great ending. I enjoyed every moment of it.

Thanks for sharing it with us. I look forward to your next one :goodvibes

Say it isn't so? :sad2: It can't be over so soon!
I've enjoyed coming along for the ride! Your children are adorable and Aubrey's love for everything Disney makes me feel :goodvibes How wonderful you are able to go back in December. Will we hear another TR then? :cool1:

Oh, I didn't want your trip to end. I've enjoyed being along for the ride. Looking forward to the December TR, are you going to do a PTR for it?

Maybe we will see you there. I hope to go several times over the Christmas holidays.

Sniff, I can't believe it's over.

I was enjoying travelling through your report.

Thanks for sharing! :thumbsup2
