Surviving Fay Disney Style

I am loving all these pictures. The kids just keep getting cuter and cuter. When I saw the picture of Aubrey with Belle, I thought "current Belle on the left, future Belle on the right".:goodvibes Honestly, she would make such a beautiful Belle.
She looks so adorable on her first day of 1st grade. Tomorrow John starts 3rd grade and Joey starts 5th. :scared1: My little 4 pound baby (Joey) is in Intermediate School now. I have this overwhelming feeling that I wish they were Peter Pan or one of the Lost Boys b/c they are just growing up way too fast.

Aw...Aubrey looks so cute:goodvibes

My DS starts Pre-K on the 4th :sad1:

Shame about the few rude encounters you had, but glad it did not ruin your day.

Score for finally getting on Peter Pan:thumbsup2

Can't wait to read more popcorn::

Aww thanks...:lovestruc

I hope I can get another update tonight. If not, I'll try to work on it tomorrow while Ashton takes a nap.

It's been so fun to read and I'm anxious for more. Thanks for sharing. Your kids are so precious.

I started reading your report when I noticed that your trip coincided with Fay. So did mine. I stayed at WL with my son for 5 days. Only one sunny day. We still had a wonderful time.
Your children are beautiful and I love the pictures you've posted. I loved seeing the first day of school picture. That was many years ago for my daughter (she's almost 19).
I'm looking forward to reading more!

Debbie, I am loving your TR so far. I absolutely love the pic of Ashton with Handy Manny. It is precious. Tell Aubrey not to fear, we will gladly take her with us on ToT in December. Also if she loves BTMRR then she will love Space Mountain. I can hardly wait to hear what happens on your trip next.

I haven't let Aubrey do SM because she can't sit beside me. She is soo tiny that she is all over the place. We also have to be able to support her head. So I am really hoping that they will make it like the one in Disneyland when they take it down for refurb.

I'll try to update some more in a little bit.

DH got up bright and early to head out for golf. He plays 2 mornings of our trip each time we go. A few hours later the kids and I got up and I started getting us all fed and cleaned up. We took our time and played in the room for awhile and then I decided to take the kids over to the playground. After the bus fiasco the night before, I didn't want to attempt taking the stroller and two kids by myself.:guilty:

So we make our way over to the playground and I was a little nervous to say the least. The playground is in very close proximity to the main pool. Between watching Aubrey on the equipment and trying to make sure Ashton didn't run off, I was a wreck.:scared: But it ended up not mattering, Ashton HATED the playground. :confused3 I have no idea why, he loves the one here at home. Here is his reaction...(The picture turned out blury, but you can still see how he feels about it!)

Aubrey on the other hand loved it. Here are a few good ones of her..

After we felt we had tortured Ashton enough at the scary playground, we wandered back to the room. We played some more and waited for Buddy to get back from his golf game. Once dh was cleaned up we headed for Epcot. We made a quick pit stop at the Electric Umbrella to get a bite for lunch. The food here was decent and dh and I both got double cheeseburgers so that we could share with Aubrey. See Aubrey doesn't eat bread so we each gave her our extra patty and some of our fries. LOL

After lunch we headed over to see Nemo and friends. I know a lot of people think this ride is stupid, but I actually like it and so does dh. And of course the kids love it. Ashton and I shared a clam shell and he was pointing at everything and squealing.

Next up was Figment. Aubrey thinks this ride is hilarious. She especially likes the smell lab! LOL She goes thru it holding her nose. I can't figure out where she got that idea...:rolleyes1

After Figment we headed over to Soarin. DH rode with Aubrey first while I waited with Ashton. Then we swapped and Aubrey and I rode. Aubrey loves this ride too. She finds it funny to tell me to watch out for the golf ball. She says it is her daddy playing golf and we have to watch out!:lmao:

Up next was Test Track. Once again, dh and Aubrey rode first. I let them take the stroller so that Aubrey would be able to sit, she was starting to get a little tired at this point. So I let Ashton run around the "showroom" while we waited. He was a complete ham. He found this one lady he took a liking to and just ran up to her and hugged her! She of course thought he was just the cutest thing and starts playing with him. It was the funniest thing I have ever seen. Once Aubrey had ridden with Daddy it was time for me to ride with her. She scream laughs the whole way thru this ride. Somehow we ended up with a car all to ourselves!

After Test Track we headed over to Ellens Universe of Energy. We haven't done this lately and I really didn't know how the kids would do. They had us take the stroller all the way into the theater for this one. We told them that Aubrey could transfer and we could just leave the stroller, but they told us no need to do that. Then we saw why. It was really cool actually. They had a special seat that had a ramp for the stroller/wheelchair to just wheel right into so Ashton sat on my lap and Aubrey rode in the stroller. She thought that was "really cool". I was surprised but both of my kids loved this. I thought Aubrey would because she is really into dinosaurs, but I didn't think it would hold A-mans attention. But they were both pointing at everything.

Once we were done with Ellen, we decided it was time to head back to the resort and get some dinner. DH was playing golf again the next morning, so he needed to get in bed. On our way out we rode SE. This was my first time riding since the refurb. Aubrey and Buddy had ridden it in December, but I had taken Ashton back to the room. I actually enjoyed it. I was pleasantly surprised after all the reviews I had read.

Once we got back to the resort we grabbed some food and got the kids ready for bed. Dh was very upset that I had stayed at the room and insisted that I call the front desk and ask if there was any type of assistance I could be given. I was told to check with them when I was ready to head out and they would see if they had a runner that could go with me or worst case scenario they would pay for a taxi to take me and the kids to the MK. Satisfied that I would at least be given some sort of help, I headed over to the laundry room and did 2 loads of laundry.:laundy: And then finally got in bed myself somewhere around 11. Moral of this story, I should have reported the bus driver sooner and if you need anything, no matter how small you think someone else may think it is, ASK. I wish I had done it sooner.

Up next, Day 4 Getting ready for Fay..

yeah, it looks like Ashton did not go for the playground too much:laughing:

But you call tell Aubrey was having a ball:goodvibes

Sounds like the rest of your day was great.

Cute story of Ashton and the lady:goodvibes :

I can't wait to take my DS on Test track this year. He was too short last year:cool1:

I am glad your husband had you call the front desk.

Like you said, no matter how small or trivial you may think something is, always ask...Words to Live By:)

At least it sounds like Ashton really enjoyed the rest of the day. The pics of the kids are cute.

We stayed at WL in December. We liked it, especially being able to take the boat to CR or MK. Thanks for reading. It did rain a ughlot didn't it? Thankfully though, it wasn't torrential rains the whole time so we found it managable.

Thanks! Hope your DS loves Test track as much as Aubrey!

I'm working on the next installment now. I'll post it in a bit if Ashton stays asleep! LOL

This morning started out much like the last one. Dh was up and out early to make his round of golf. The kids and I slept in and then I got everyone cleaned up. Once we were dressed and ready to go, we headed to the lobby to speak to someone at the concierge desk. I explained to the very nice CM the scenario and he said they were very short staffed, but to let him see what he could do. He went and spoke with the manager and verified that all their runners were already running!:rotfl: But the manager was extremely upset about the rude bus driver and wanted to know his name. He would call transportation himself to report the incident. In the meantime he told the CM to take me to bell services and see if they had a bellman that could ride the bus with me to handle the stroller. So I followed him over, but they were short staffed as well. So they were working on getting us a taxi, but I really didn't want to have to hold both kids in the car and I don't like them not being in car seats. (I really dislike the busses for this reason too, but I digress...) Anyway, I told them I really didn't expect them to pay for a taxi, I just needed someone to lift the stroller onto and off of the bus. I told the concierge CM that I would try the bus first and see if I got a nice bus driver this time. I only had to worry about it for today and only going to MK as DH would meet me there and he would be with us the rest of the trip.

So he said, lets go I'll go with you! Only thing was as we started walking to the bus stop here comes the bus!:scared1: He looks at me and says "GO! I can't walk that fast, but I'll meet you there, hold that bus!" I told Aubrey to hold on for dear life and I ran with that stroller. When we got to the bus stop, there was someone there coordinating the busses. The CM explained to her what had happened the night before and told her the drivers had to help this was their job. She looked at him as if she was saying "What do you want me to do about it?" And I guess he saw it too, because he looked at her and told her that she was going to help him get that stroller on the bus! (He had one arm in a bandage himself!) A very nice family overheard what was going on and told us to go ahead they would wait for another bus. I didn't hear the entire conversation after I was instructed to take my kids the stroller was coming, LOL but he gave the driver the what for and I know he told her to take the stroller off the bus for me. I never did see him again, and I hope he heard me yelling thank you to him!

So we are finally on our way to the MK. There was a nice family that let Aubrey have her older daughters seat and then the family behind me gave up Dad's seat for me and Ashton. When we got to the MK, the daughter of family 1 carried my stroller off the bus for me and Dad from family 2 carried my bag so that I could just get the kids!:lovestruc And when I say carried, they took them both all the way off the bus and thru the que area to a spot that I could easily open the stroller without being in the way.

Aubrey and I knew exactly where we wanted to go first! The bakery! We were starved. So I fed the kids and myself their most healthy breakfast of Chocolate Chocolate chip muffins and juice!:rotfl2:

After our delicious breakfast we headed over to the magic carpets, then over to POC. Aubrey scream laughed at the drop and Ashton didn't seem to mind. He jumped a little at the cannon fire, but that was it. Up next was IASW because Aubrey said Ashton liked it. Which he did, he was pointing at everything! Of course after IASW, Aubrey spotted PP so we went on it again. (This would become a pattern)

Next we went in to see Philharmagic. Now Aubrey has seen this a hundred times but she would not wear these guys:3dglasses but for some reason this year she did! It was so much fun to see her really seeing this film. She was reaching for the jewels and the hat. Ashton of course didn't wear the glasses, but he was going ape over Donald just the same.

Next we rode the carousel. This was the first time Ashton had been on one and he was a little nervous in the beginning while we were waiting for it to start. Once the ride got moving, he loved it! I got a work out as I had one child on each side and one arm around each child. Naturally, their horses were not in sync, so I had one arm in the air and one arm down low!:lmao:

By now it was starting to get really warm. I had dressed the kids in their swim shorts and rash guards on purpose. I decided to take the kids over to Donalds boat and let them cool off a bit.

While we were splashing at Donalds boat, dh called to say he was at the room getting cleaned up and we discussed what to do for lunch. Both of us had already had our fill of counter service so we decided to see if CP could fit us in around 4 pm. They could get us in at 3:40 so we decided to make it a late lunch early dinner and agreed to meet at CP since dh would be getting there right around our ADR time.

I took the kids on a few more rides, Aubrey wanted to ride Snow White and then she decided to ride Pooh again for Ashton. When we came out of Pooh it had all of a sudden started POURING. It had been extremely hot and sunny up until this point. I was able to cover the now dry children so that they didn't get wet again, but I got soaked. We headed over to CP in the rain and of course by the time we got there the sun was out again.

I'll have to stop here for now, Ashton is up and I have a few things I need to do before I go to get Aubrey from school. I'll try to post part 2 tonight.

The pics are so cute! Sounds like Aubrey like the PP ride as much as John does. On our first trip with the boys, that was the only ride that John rode with my DH. John says that is his and DH's "special ride". We ride it at least twice per trip. That way he can get the first ride in with his daddy and then a ride with me, so I don't feel left out.

Thanks everyone!

Kim we rode more than twice. LOL

I wanted to say Welcome to anyone new that is reading and thanks for reading along. I also keep forgetting to comment on all of you that name your GPS. At least I now know we aren't the only crazy people talking to their gps systems!:lmao:

I don't have a GPS in my car to name, but I did name my car. For several reasons, I named my white Ford Explorer Betty.

What a great update!

It is so nice when you come across such helpful people as the families you encountered on the bus:goodvibes

The image of you on carousel with your arms going up and down out of sync cracked me up

Sounds like you got a lot done and had a great day:woohoo:

Can't wait to hear about dinner at CPpopcorn::
