I am trying to put together a survival kit for a WDW 2 weeks holiday for My Dad, his GF, my Mum and my Nan who have never been before.

I have come to you guys for some inspiration as to what to include that they might not have already thought of (eg, plasters, painkillers etc)

They are flying (obviously) so cannot take large items.

TYIA:flower3:

Also posted on US planning but as I sm from the UK this might be better

I was just going through in my mind what I have put in mine..but basically all we have ever needed has been the basics like plasters, painkillers, antibacterial wipes and also antihistamine cream. But thats all really. I don't think that in all the years of going we have needed anything else. Mind you I am one of those people that ALWAYS WITHOUT FAIL catches a cold about 7 days in to the holiday which I seem to pick up from the plane's rubbish air filtering system, so I do end up buying all the stuff that comes from that, but its cheaper and better (ie stronger) in USA.

Oh just remembered...the other thing I always take for the plane is earplugs! :)

Not sure when they are going, but I'd personally add in some insect repellant too. Especially if they're those people who must have super tasty blood like myself lol! According to the bugs that is...

Orlando was never somewhere that occurred to me that i would need insect repellant for  no idea why :lmao:. But last summer and the summer of 2009, I was bitten something chronic! And whatever bit me caused the areas to come in hard, red, itchy and painful lumps all over my legs!

So now I'm not going again without repellant! Thought I'd drop that in as another recent thread on here reminded me about that.

And another thing which I saw on the Garden Grocer thread I think - tea bags! If your family  a brew, then the tea that you get there doesn't quite cut it. I hate tea myself so never bother, but my mates always take a teabag stash from home!

We are all going in October. I had already thought of taking teabags as i remeber the tea there sucked big time!
The insect repellant is a great idea....for me too as bugs love to bite me, :headache:

Earplugs are a good idea. thank you x

i've got a more unusual one, i have a little travel bottle of clothes soap stuff that I got from millets when I was on a uni field trip but its always come in handy at wdw coz dbf somehow finds a way to get a stain on one of his favourite tshirts everytime we're on holiday so its always a must for me :rotfl:

Loving this thread!!!! These are the things you forget and then end up really needing out there lol
I was thinking about tea, mum will have kittens if she doesn't get a "proper" cuppa in the morning!
Just wondering if its ok to bring tea bags to the US? Might sound silly and I'm probably watching too much Austrialian boarder control on sky living lol but dont want any hassle over a few tea bags at customs!

Taking tea bags in your suitcase is allowed by the us border control as it is dried and sealed packaging in your suitcase. But you can aalways check before going to the airport by phoning customs.
The tea in the US sucks so it is very wise. They do sell PG tips out there but it can be a bit pricey! and not sure if WDW would sell it unless you go to twinings shop in epcot where you would get what i call 'poncey' tea.

Awesome! Tea shall defo be in my survival kit! Brought mum to a little town in the south of France once and she actually cried (only a little but still lol sunglasses were needed to cover up) because she couldn't get tea lol think its such an addiction!!!! Do you need to declare it as food....? Or do they just not ask questions as its like a sealed box of tea bags....(Barrys or lyons is my choice, no poncey twinings lol) gosh feel so silly being this indept about a cuppa lol

I am not sure about declaring the teabags. They do list the items oyu need to declare on the declaration form itself. I am sure oyu can look it up online somewhere.

I read on another thread that it's best to declare everything 'edible' even teabags.:thumbsup2

We have always brought teabags and never declared them. The tea over there is just yuck!! I always make sure that everyone flying with me knows what prescription eye glasses or contacts they wear. As a contact lenses wearer I would dread to think what would happen if my luggage went missing for a few days - and I usually bring about 3/4 pairs in my carry on just in case!
And for some reason I always seem to get a craving for cheese and onion crisps so I bring a few bags if them too :rotfl2:
