Hi,

I just wondered if any of you have regularly been to Orlando and stayed in a villa had a preference over the locations? I have never been before and heard of the different locations eg. Highlands reserve etc.. but just wondered if they were all the same - just an estate of villas or if they offer different facilities - are any seen to be better/safer than others? ANy to avoid?

All opinions wanted!!

Thanks

We stayed in Indian Creek in February this year. Its a great location off the 192 and minutes from Disney. Very quiet and we felt very safe as most villas seemed to be occupied so there were 'neighbours' close by.

My only critisism was that there was quite a traffic queue to get out onto the 192 every morning. Also slow traffic on the 192 down to the disney turn off. Other than that, it was lovely and we would certainly stay there again.

I agree we have stayed at Indian Ridge 4 times now and it's an ideal location. Must say the traffic to get out onto the 192 can be avoided if you drive through the Poderosa Carpark!

My preference is the stretch of the 192 West of the entrance to Disney. developments there include Indian Ridge, Indian Ridge Oaks and Formosa Gardens ( I think Indian Creek is in the same area) . Highlands Reserve is a nice development and a great golf course, but it is an extra 15 minutes drive. If your habits are to go out in the morning and return only late at night that doesn't make much difference. If you like to return at lunchtime for a nap and come home before going to dinner it can add an extra hour or more to your day (all spent in the car)

We usually stay on Indian Ridge. It can be a problem getting on the 192 in the morning but once on your fine. Brilliant for popping back mid afternoon for a break from the parks and by then the traffic isn't a problem.

Our preference is just off the 192, near Poinciana Boulevard.
Close to Supermarkets/restuarants and good access to the I4.

Indain Point/Cumbrian Lakes ideally situated.
Most homes are really nice, but if selecting one try and go for one that is reasonably new.

Think that most of the homes/locations are safe.

Wouldn't stay too far south, we stayed at one near Loma Linda - think it was called this - and the villa was 10 years old and in need of severe re-furbishment.

I have also driven round Formosa Gardens and Indian Creek at the other end of the 192 - both very nice.

we stayed at clear creek in 2002 and found it ok. it is at the most western end of the 192 and just north off the h27 but we didnt have difficulties getting on off even at the most busiest times of day.

We stayed at Indian Ridge last May and it was brilliant, by far the best location we've stayed.
As for getting out onto the 192 we never had a problem, there are traffic lights at the junction which make things a lot easier.
Also when we return at night it took us about 15-20 minutes from car park to home.
Just a tip:
I don't know if it's still there (somebody might tell me though) when coming home at night we just looked for the large inflatable Elvis and turned left:) down Old Lake Wilson Rd.
