Survey on Disney in room products vs. home products

We are partial to our own soaps. I might take the chance on an overnight trip, but not for the 5-7 nights we are on a Disney trip!

I bring one bottle of shampoo for me, one for my fiance (he only uses T-Gel and gets wicked dandruff if he doesn't use it for two or more consecutive showers), a bottle of conditioner and a bottle of body wash. We take home the room stuff because my mother likes it though.

It's tough enough to pack for a cross-country flight, so we always enjoy the perk of having things provided. It's nice that they do, makes our packing so much easier, certainly have never had a problem with anything they have.
Yes, we like and are happy to take advantage of the opportunity of using what's in the room. :goodvibes

I see a few people saying they take home the Disney stuff and never use it. We travel a lot throughout the year and always save the hotel size bottles. In the winter they are donated to homeless shelters who LOVE the individual sizes because they can hand them out to each person as they are checked in for the night.

If you're taking it home, you might want to consider this as an option.

To answer the OP: I bring my own due to our skin hating the combination of Disney water and new hair products. It's bad enough with just the water :confused3 We are sensitive people I guess!

I always bring my own bar of soap and toilet paper. I love my Charmin blue. as for shampoo and conditioner they always have it in the room but like everyone else i bring home the little bottles but never use them. You can buy the little travel bottles from CVS and fill them with your own stuff to bring. That will save some space.

Do you use Disney resort shampoo and soap or do you bring your own? Trying to pack light and wondering if I should just use theirs and bring my own face soap and conditioner. Also, I forgot if they give conditioner?????

I usually bring my own shampoo, take disney shampoo home and never use it. The whole process takes up room I can use for other items in my suitcase.

Just wanted to take a little survey

Idon't use the shampoo/conditioner combo at all. Last trip I spent the first half at a deluxe and I wasn't loving the h2o seperate shampoo conditioner either. Lotion is not great for me either (sensitive skin). I am fine with the body wash, and the soap and have not had any problems.

And I am very low maintenance as far as hair products, as in I use suave or Aussie on my short, fine not curly hair. But I just can't use Disney's.

Also, our one stay at AKL concierge, in addition to shampoo/conditioner/lotion, we also received a bottle of sunburn lotion/cream. You know the kind you refrigerate and then use to take the sting out of sunburn, but that was the only place. And I remember taking the bottles home, but then later on, when I really needed it for one of my children, I could not find it, so now I sometimes wonder if I only imagined the Mickey Magical Sunburn cream.

I also received a bottle of the H2O Solar Relief Gel once so you're not imagining it. I'm a DVC member so I know it was a DVC resort but not sure which one. I'm thinking it was OKW and it was quite a while ago - copyright on back of bottle is 2006. I refill the bottle with Aloe gel to take on trips because it's small. Maybe they've just stopped supplying it...
