Survey from Loews/US/IOA

Did anyone else get the survey about luggage and shuttle service to and from the airport? Looks like they're considering offering a service similar to WDW's Magical Express. I will say when we stay at WDW we take advantage of ME and then don't end up leaving the property. When we go to US/IOA I end up renting a car. We then eat, shop and do other things off property. It would be a good move on their part to offer it.

Im sure many who concentrate on visiting Universal would love it, even those doing a split stay could just use local transport (short term rental car or taxi) to transfer to next destination in Orlando/FL area.

Surprised it took U so long to grasp that there is nothing better than having a 'captive audience'

im just concerned that if it is touted as 'free', ticket prices/hotel rates, etc. will rise to cover the operating costs. It has to be funded somehow, contracts w/mears, etc....with those who do typically rent a car & locals picking up the tab via likely 'hidden' surcharge. there is no free ride in Orlando ha

Free airport transport would be a real selling point for me to plan a Universal-only vacation. We are driving down this trip to WDW, and only spending one day doing both parks at US/IOA.

We got the survey and actually it wasn't from Loews ... it was a "Universal Hotel Survey" in which they were considering new benefits for the various on-site hotels (much like DME and luggage/airline check in except with a cost involved).

I received one about ticket prices , ( and if I was aware of WWOHP)specifically in comparison to WDW. Mostly about multi-day options, and adding a fee for express pass and would I alter my WDW ticket purchase if I had a multi-day option from Universal. The bummer thing about the survey was the prices...in the 5-600 range for 4 day 2 park tix woth NO express pass...express options were anywhere from 20 p person per day to 100 flat rate....in general me thinks the park tix are going to go WAY up in late 2010, at least that is the feeling I got.

this sounds like one i got a month or so ago, so many options it put MYW tix to shame. I believe that they will go with some sort of ala carte offering, just wondering how it'll shake down to PAP/AP holders.

im very glad i have a set of tix socked away for a rainy day I bought thru AAA last year. may just pick up another set for the family if a good sale pops up. It's money in the bank as long as the tix don't have an expiry or use by date; as U will def raise the tix prices as the market will bear.

We're @ the point where our travel patterns doesn't justify buying everybody in our family a PAP, but we did renew 1 for the hotel discount this year.

I didn't get that survey, but the one I got was about movies and musicals.

They were asking about HSM, Animal House, Ferris Bueller's Day Off and some other movies and my interest in them....AND how I'd feel about them being a musical/show

No offense...but, I'd rather have rides and shops than a musical show

NVM about HSM which is a Disney copyright...Animal House and Ferris Bueller? I'm surprised, that is really dated...I'm not knocking my hero FB, but seriously, who under 40 has even heard about those films let alone will agree to be a captive audience for a show with that theme? (Hint: not my teens.)

I think it's a great idea, but I still wouldn't stay on-site until there are some more moderately priced hotels. Not even fussed about FOTL; if they offered a reasonable hotel (we like the Four Points nearby on I-Drive) for a reasonable price I would definitely stay on-site even without FOTL. I just cannot justify paying more than $100/night for a room.

Personally we use the Lynx buses in and around Orlando. It cost us less to do the whole trip using public transport than it would have to simply PARK at Universal during our stay.

Reading the preceeding posts I have to say that a service similar to ME and it is probably to their advantage as most people will spend more time on there properties. We've used Disney's ME and I think it is fantastic. Sorry didn't mean to get off topic...my question is how did you recieve the survey/questionere???

I got mine via email, too. They had my email address from two sources. The first year we stayed, I made our reservations online. After that, we've given it at check-in.
