I got an email today asking me to take a survey from Disney about travel.

It asked questions about how much we spend on vacations, what type of vacations we like to take, and where we want/like to travel to. It asked is we knew of any "package providers" and what name we like for Disney's package provider type service. Then it spelled out some particular itineraries (with prices) and asked if we'd be interested in them. They inclouded Yellowstone, Hawaii, Philadelphia/DC, DCL Magic Western Route, and London/Paris. It also asked questions about the demographic makeup of our family (number of people and ages, income, race/national origin, etc.).

Did anyone else get asked to take it? If you did, which vacations appealed to you? The only one which really appealed to me was the London/Paris one, but why no stop at Disneyland Paris?? I would have liked the Hawaii one if they had offered higher end hotels.

I was surveyed while waiting for the parade at WDW a few weeks back. When I got home there was an email asking me to fill out an online survey. It asked me all about the fact that there were two households in our travel party (my mom travelled with us). The questions ranged from amount of time spent together, to number of rooms we stayed in, to would we have travelled if one or other party had cancelled. They also asked if I had used discounted tickets or rooms and if I would have vacationed if the discounts weren't available.

We also got asked about the demographics of our party, how often we had stayed at WDW in the past and whether we were likely to return or not in the next five years.

Anne- it is so strange that they don't seem to push DLP as part of a European package.

I got a email survey last month about our May trip to the Polynesian. It asked a lot of questions about that resort only.

I received in the mail the other day a post card asking me to take a survey on line about our WDW trip that was less than a month ago. I filled the survey out and it ask me various questions about the CSR it's staff, the rooms, and our entire experience on the resort. The survey also asked us if we vacationed on a package, how many people traveled in my group. It also asked about WDW cast members, transportation, & food. I found the survey to be quite interesting.

KiMickey--

This was different from the one you describe--I get the postacrd telling me I was selected from a "small, but significant cross-section of our guests" after every stay and giving me a web address and password to use.

This was VERY different from those surveys. I grabbed the images from the European itinerary--here they are:

Very interesting Anne- not sure of their choice of hotel though- I stayed at the Langham Hilton last year, and while it is a nice hotel and is in a great location, it's a little shabby and worn around the edges. It certainly wouldn't be in the category of the Disney deluxes. It also looks a little pricey to me.

Thanks for posting

Joanna123--

Thanks for that info. That's good to know, because most of the other hotels for the other tours were only two and three diamond/star places.

I did this same survey. It also seemed strange to me that they would do a guided tour of Paris and not include Disneyland Paris on the itinerary (and I mentioned that in the comments at the end of the survey.)

Actually, the whole survey was strange to me...why in the world Disney would branch into guided tours around non-Disney areas is beyond me. I liked some of the perks of the New York tour (going backstage and then seeing The Lion King), but I would have purchased that as a tour without the hotel stuff - like the keys to the kingdom.

IMHO, Disney needs to focus on areas of their existing businesses that need work before branching off.

Fon Fon--I tend to agree. My thought is that they are trying to extend the services of WDTC in a lucrative field.

My biggest question is where did they get my email address? The email came to my work address. I use my AOL account for Disney stuff (Disney Go, DIsneystore.com, etc.).

There's no gentle way to ask.....are you sure this survey is from Disney? What was the e-mail address it came from?

Hi Anne,

I received a emailed survey today on Animal Kingdom Park... it was quite lengthy and on shopping, food, attractions, shows, fast passes on on where we stayed.

How was your trip by the way? :) did you post a report somewhere ?

I got the same survey. The Pais itinerary they gave me did include Disneyland Paris with two nights at the Disneyland Hotel. There was one night less at each of the other two hotels.

It was from www.disneysurveys.com and had basically the same format as the resort surveys they do.

Yes, it was from Disney. The imbedded link sent me to a web page. I was a little unsure, so before I started to take it I checked both the IP address and DNS resolution for the email address domain, and they matched up and are owned by Disney.

Also, the survey was all created using jsp's, and asked little to no useful personal info. No one would ahve gone through that kind of trouble of creating a site using that type of technology to get nothing out of it.

DH pointed out that I corresponded with the AKL and Polynesian concierge preplanners through my work email. I'm not sure that I like them putting my email into their Db without asking first...I would have been happy to give them the other one if they had asked.

My survey included dis-Paris. Group tours are a boar. Look at the maps and there is a whole lot of riding going on.

I got the same online survey about group travel etc. Have not finished it I just remembered..the baby woke up!!

Mine was from the email that I used when being approached in the MK this past February, not the one I use for concierge/itinerary planning.
