I just took the newest AP survey & there was an "interesting" set of questions.

If your pass type was blocked out for about two months after a new attraction, parade, or show opened for the first time...
  • Would you buy regular park admission to visit while your pass was blocked out?
  • Would you upgrade to a pass type that wasn't blocked out during those dates?
:rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

Wow! They are getting bold.
No and No are my answers. LOL

I guess they are possibly referring to Soarin opening this June but the Silver Annual Passes being in blackout.

So much for the days when AP holders got first "dibs" on a new attraction…I remember when Mission Space had a "soft" opening, and AP holders were allowed to ride…we rode it over and over again, to the point of being ill. Ah…good times. ;)

I can wait, attractions not going anywhere, lines will only get shorter and if its summer they're referring to the heat is enough to make you feel fine about waiting,I just came back from a trip this weekend and I'm still hydrating myself back to normal from all the sweating I did on a May trip.

The f&^$&^g greed is getting out of hand. Hopefully they're not referring to the Platinum AP wifey and I have.

Who knows? Here is a list of all the APs offered at WDW, I bolded the ones with restrictions/blackouts (3 of 10 options), which appear to currently be FL resident only passes.

I wonder how many local AP holders this would affect, and if they're thinking the same thing re: Disneyland

Disney's Premier Passport
Platinum Plus Annual Pass
Platinum Pass Annual Pass
FL Resident Platinum Plus Annual
FL Resident Platinum Annual Pass
FL Resident Gold Annual Pass
FL Resident Silver (Seasonal)
FL Resident Weekday Select Seasonal

FL Resident After 4 Epcot Annual
FL Resident After 2 p.m. Water Parks

I might do other. Not renew my pass at all. (just kidding of course but what kind of questions are those?)

I wondered right away about DLR as well. But I think they treat their AP holders better there.

Can they actually add new blackout dates to an already-bought Annual Pass? We aren't grandfathered in? We bought an AP this year and have plans to use it already based on the calendar that was already published.

I have the feeling this next round of AP renewals are going to be interesting. When was that last increase? In the fall sometime?

Can they? Yes. Will they? Probably not. They know they've got you at your next renewal anyway, so it wouldn't make much sense for them to create ill will by changing the terms of an active AP.

I agree I really don't think they would do that.

So that means that the ap holder couldn't get into any park for two months? Or would it be by whichever park opened the new attraction?

Either way that's horrible. I'd say it's mostly bad for locals but it will also make planning vacations for out of state pass holders even more difficult if you have a two month window where you wouldn't want to go.

DVC is also eligible for the Gold Pass.

Yes, you are correct, DVC is eligible for Platinum & Gold at FL Resident Pricing.

Right now the restrictions are on Gold, Silver, and Weekday Select - I wonder how many AP's (DVC & FL Resident) would be excluded in the 2-month window.

Would it make lines & crowds appreciably smaller or drive them to spend the extra $120 or so to bump to platinum? I guess thats what the survey is trying to figure out.

Selfishly, I'm all for AP's being blacked out after new attractions open, and would be OK with the blackout being up to 6 months. :teeth::teeth::teeth: (please note, I do not have an AP and am kidding. Mostly.:-):rolleyes1)

The Silver AP already has a 2 month blackout date - 6/6 to 8/11. Hopefully this is what they are talking about and not planning on adding additional blackout dates to the Silver & Gold and new blackout dates to the other APs.

They're trying to determine if Silver and Weekday pass holders will come in the summer despite their blockout dates to see Soarin, Fro-Way, the new MK show, etc etc and if so, how will they do it.

They just lifted the summer blockouts for the 3 and 4 day FL tickets, I really don't see them adding more to any level of AP.

are you @#$(*@#$*@#($*#@ kidding me?!?!?!?!?!?

BTW I didn't get this survey, do you happen to have an AP that has blackout dates on the AP itself? if they want to block AP holders, open the attraction while an AP is blacked out...
