Surrogate?

I know there was a thread a couple month ago. Someone mentioned having a surrogate? I would like to talk to you.

I have looked back through pages of msgs, but I couldn't seem to find what I thought I read. Hmm maybe, I had been drinking that night and it didn't exist?

Thanks! I just thought I recalled reading *somewhere* on here that someone grew their faily via surrogate.

I know there are surrogate specific message boards. However, I also know our surrogate is using them as a support system right now. I know there will come a time I am ready to join her on those boards, but I feel right now she needs the privacy and support more than we do. I am *trying* to be patient and respectful.

Reality is more like this I just want to go scream from the roof tops...... however, that is quite aways off, and so I wait.

I have always been fascinated with reproductive things (IVF, surrogacy, adoption) and would have prob been a surrogate had it not been for a few (well a lot of medical problems...epilepsy, a heart condition which SHOULD have prevented me from having my own 2 children...I did anyway and we are all no worse for the ware) medical problems I would have LOVED to do it for someone, and I HATE being pregnant (I am VERY sick from week 1 to week 36 when they induce me cause my heart has had enough), but I know how much I LOVE being a mommy and would have loved to do that for someone else.


Is your surrogate pregnant or just starting cycles? How old are your 2 children?

I think its a great thing to become a surogate for someone. I myself have looked into donating eggs (not the same thing, but along the same lines) and I was turned down! I don't know why, but I was. It was on an online survey though, so maybe something got messed up. I just think its sad that some people who would make wonderful parents cannot due to the fact that they are either a same sex couple, or for medical reasons. The only thing that kinda freeks me out about donating eggs, is somewhere out there will be MY child, and I will never know him/her.

My kids are 7 and 4 (5 in august). Both are adopted. I don't have viable eggs. We have never even considered anything like surrogacy before. We adopted, it works for us, ya kno? I was talking to a girl I have known online a couple months ago. She had deciced to be a surrogate, but gestational, not traditional. Meaning using the moms eggs or donated eggs, not hers. We started talking, my husband thought it was great... things have progressed. She is using her eggs.... only because she knows me. She knows we have very similar beliefs, parenting styles, etc. We also have open adoptions and she knows she will always be included in our family.

She is cycling now... we will insem first attempt at the end of July!!! YIPEE! I am so excited. I think I may explode long before there is a baby!!! We were going to do June, but my husband will be in Utah on work.... Kinda hard to do it without him

Also our friend(surrogate) has used donor sperm before. She is a lesbian and both her and her partner concieved with donors. She concieved first time! Lets hope its quick this time too! I am not excited at all...

If your asking me, then yes, shes my youngest. It was taken this past Halloween - she was a fairy of course just like her older sister!

Oh I'm so happy for you, that is so exciting! Hope you have all the luck in the world, and it happens the first time - I'm sure its not a cheap process!
