Surprising the kiddos...question?

We'll be taking only our second trip to WDW later this month, and I thought it would be cool to surprise the kids when we go to our room to have customized Mickey ears waiting for them on the table when we arrive. Will any of the resorts do this? We'll be staying at Saratoga Springs..

It is my understanding that they don't assign rooms until you show up at the front desk, so you wouldn't be able to have them waiting in a room. Maybe you could try to have them waiting at the front desk though.

They won't put anything in the room until after you check into the room. You should be able to have them waiting at the desk, or get them delivered after you check in.

Just as an FYI, my mom sent our kids a TON of stuff for their first trip to the world in Ocotber 2007. She used disneyflorist.com. We were told that the items would be held for us at check in due to the fact that rooms are not pre-assigned; however, when we checked in, nothing was given to us. They had in fact pre-assigned our cabin, and put the items in our cabin.

This is probably not typical, but it did happen.

Perhaps a surprise at the front desk at Check-in is sufficient?

Hello Okie! Something you could do is ship surprises down. My kids are nosy and I had a few things I wanted to take and keep as a surprise, so I boxed and shipped them FedEx and they were waiting for us at the front desk when we checked in. It was great b/c it didn't take up space in the car on the way down. I had lots of fun trinkets, glow stix from the $1store for parades, disney personal fans, a costume and fun things that I found for not alot of $$ so we wouldn't be tempted to go broke down there. You know, mom can I have that $10 pos toy? Nope, but you can have this great one! It was great! Good luck and have a great time!
