I'm busting and I have to tell someone!! I came up with (what I think) is an awesome idea!!

We're surprising our kids with a Disney trip for March at a Mod resort (first time at a mod) POFQ

We told the kids we couldn't afford to do Disney for a long time because we had ice and water damage and we had to put a new roof on and do our kitchen over. This winter was hard on us here in Northern New York!! It's going to be tight but we're going to make it possible!!

What I'm going to do is get the kids new suitcases and in those I'm putting Disney stuff in them. I've already bought us personalized polo shirts and the new logo shirts off Disney.com. I got us all new disney beach towels too. I went on ebay and got some new pins and a few other things. I figure I'll wrap each thing individually and put it in the suitcase and then wrap the suitcase too! But before I wrap up the suitcase, I'll type up a letter that says when we're going and where we're staying, the day countdown and such too! I'm so excited!! It's going to be so hard to not let it slip!!

I just had to write this and hope you can share my excitement!!:goodvibes

That sounds great....I would go nuts waiting until March 2008...but then again I am going nuts waiting for August! When are you going to tell the kids?

Oh my gosh, I forgot to mention that we aren't telling them until CHRISTMAS!! haha

It's going to kill me!!! haha:santa:

I ALWAYS say I will keep it a secret but I can never wait that long:rolleyes1 Usually 3 days later I am spilling the mickeys all over the place!!

Sounds like a fun idea! Good luck on keeping a secret.

Our kids have never been and we are going in September. My DW and I are excited too since as kids each of our families only ever went once and only spent a day or 2 at Epcot, which we enjoyed, but now getting to go for a week seems fablous.

But back on topic... we decided not to tell our kids (DS 7pirate: and DD 5princess: ) until the day we leave. We are going to wake them up on that glorious day and give them each their own notebook that tells them where we are going, when we are going and filled with pictures of WDW. I think they will go nuts and start bouncing off the walls. We keep talking about Disney things and say someday we will go, but probably not any time soon. And to make the secret even harder we have several friends that have just gotten back and more that are getting ready to go and we always want to sit around and talk about all things Disney. So it is going to be a long 113 days more, but we are really looking forward to it. :cool1:

My husband and I surprised our kids twice two years in a row.

The first year we told the kids we were going to our place at the beach. The beach is south of our house and the airport is north. So we came up with a story telling them that my mom wanted to go to the mall that is past the airport. When we got near the airport my mom told the kids she wanted to stop and look at the planes. Both kids hated the idea and wanted to get to the mall. Once we got to the airport we got out and told the kids we were going to disney. DD told me to stop joking (did I mention we all had Disney shirts on????) and DS started crying because he wanted to go to the mall. Needless to say once we go there they were happy.

The second year we went (which was the very next year) we told the kids DH and I were going to the Bahamas. We made them get up at 4:00 am to see us off to the Bahamas. Once again my mother was taking us to the airport. DD was sooo mad because she wanted to go. Once we got to the airport I handed them gift bags with Disney shirts in them. They were so excited but upset that we "tricked them" again.

We are going this June and they both know. I must say it's not as fun when they know.

I forgot to mention that this year I surprised my mom and my DN by paying for their trips to Disney.

We are all excited and doing the happy dance...:cool1:

I am surprising DD in just 2 weeks! I have planned it all out and kept it all hush hush. I am going to wake her up and give her a customized Disney shirt to put on and see if she catches on. I have bought her new clothes.. me new clothes.. a new camera and all the stuff we need to go and she has no clue. We are going in August also so she keeps talking about that trip. I have all of her favorite palces planned out. I am so excited and cannot wait 2 more weeks!!!

Have a magical time and happy planning:goodvibes :goodvibes :thumbsup2 :wizard:  :cloud9: :woohoo: :dance3: :yay:
