Surprising Ma....I did pull it off!! Surprise is out!!!

I planned a trip with another family about three years ago. Their lack of concern drove me crazy. Once you're bitten by the Disney bug its hard to be laid back about travel plans... The trip you are planning sounds so awesome. I'm thinking of maybe trying to plan a Grand Gathering for our entire family for next year. Hopefully the economy will turn around and this idea can become reality.

AMEN to that!! I just figured out that this is Ma's 58th birthday, I told my Aunt too bad it isn't her 60th, but then that got me thinking, I've been wanting to do a disney CRUISE!!! HAHA That we can do for her 60th!!!! I can head up the travel/leave your car here thing since I'm RIGHT HERE where the ships pull in at....DH goes to work right across the basin from them! OOO They're lovely! I sooooo wanna do a cruise!!! That'll be right after our 14th anniversary, so maybe we can coordinate....if I can book far enough out....HMMM got me thinking now!! HAHA

I sent the menu for Tony's to my Aunt, the one who's helping us, and she said it looks good enough for her! So, it's a go for Tony's the night of the birthday! I'm so excited, I just can't wait! It's gonna be fun. Still minimal contact from the sister, but that's okay, better to not confuse her so much!! I got in a photopass share, even tho I'll have my camera, and DSIS will probably have hers too, it'll be nice to have pictures of all 4 of us! I need to buy a few pairs of shorts, but I need to look for the cargo shorts, DSIS thinks I'll embarrass her too much if I wear my fanny pack, and I have promised her to be less "dorky" when I'm with her! So, shopping list to start soon. DS is growing out of things too, quickly!! The boy is eating me out of house and home!! Anyways, I'm SOOOOO glad I got this May trip to help keep me sane, otherwise, I'd be ready to start packing this bag too!!

You're plans are excellent and well thought out. After reading everyone's plans, I just started my planning as well. I mean, I had my park days planned out but that's it. We're doing the quick service DP, so I went through the list of all of the restaurants, and picked out the ones that looked the best. We're just starting to go through the park maps and map out our days too. It's so darn fun.

Looks like your Mom is going to have a wonderful birthday!

I hope so!! That's my plan, her having a wonderful birthday!! She's such a giving person, and it's nice to be able to give back to her. I'm gonna have to take pictures of her reaction when I do tell her...that way, ya'll can see!!! That won't be until like August, but it'll be fun to guess until then!! LOL

Oh and in terms of "not being a dork" I believe you are not only allowed, but encouraged to be dorky in WDW... I mean those lanyards, the matching shirts, the ears... dorkiness is totally encouraged in the World, thats what makes it so fun!

THAT'S WHAT I'M SAYIN!!!!! BUT, DSIS did Epcot with us about 2 years ago, I had the lanyard, the fanny pack, but not my tigger ears, and she didn't want to walk with me, let alone anything else!! She just doesn't understand!! But, I did promise her I'd be good, I just wish she'd be a little more helpful, and less selfish, since we're doing this FOR MA!!! I gotta remind her all the time! SHE'S the one that wanted the cabin so she'd have her own bed...SHE'S the one who's having a hard time picking food, cause she don't know if she'd FEEL like that type of food, etc. UG I'm about ready to shoot her!! BUT, we're working on this together, for our MA! I just wish it would be a little less stressful planning with her! My Aunt keeps telling me to be patient, and she'd help me to do what's best for ma, so I've been working with my Aunt more. Which is ALOT better! But, it'll come together, I totally believe that. I might be wanting too much too early, which is fine, I'm just an obsessive planner, and DSIS is NOT! UG!! Ah well, thanks for letting me vent!!!

I found you. Your plans look great, your mom is going to have a great Bday! I love MNSSHP too. I'm sure you have been before living so close. CBR is a great resort. If we hadn't already rented points for Saratoga then we would be going back there and trying a Pirate room also. Poor Thomas has asked about it though wish I had known. You are not a dork just because you were a Lanyard and a fanny pack to Disney . I'll walk next to you.

Got it from the wonderful designers on the disign board here, those guys are AWESOME!!!! Tell me what you think, I emailed it to my aunt and to my DSIS this morning, so I'll let you know what they think, I absolutely LOVE it!! The wording is perfect, again, put that in the hands of the disigner...

We are gonna tell her Aug 1st, I'll take her out to lunch, and spring it on her. My 2 Aunts that live here will probably be with us too....cause they wanna see their reaction on her face!!

My new camera I ordered should be in tomorrow, I got a fujifilm 10mp little hot pink thing, DH has a huge Nikon D40X, but I HATE carrying that big honkin thing around, so I ordered me a little thing, I'll take pictures of that when it comes in!!

I think that's all for now, this trip planning is pretty much on hold until the park hours come out and I can make ADR's, which is JUNE I don't wanna wait that long, but that's alright. I keep going round and round on the dining, so once that's set in stone, then I'll post it! Thanks for staying with me on this!!

Actually, I am having a hard time waiting to tell her. I told the lady on the disign board what I wanted, and she worded it for me. I told her to put in the ps. something for Ma not to kill us!! HAHA and that she already has the time off. My aunt is helping me TREMENDOUSLY!!! Which I'm forever grateful. I've just been going back and forth with the dining....what she would want, etc. She's gonna be happy, but she IS gonna kill me!! But thanks for the nice words, I'll look up the name of the disigner, and give her the proper kudos, I get sooo much stuff from sooooo many people, it's hard to remember what I got from who!!

Well, got messages back, Aunt Donna couldn't understand why I did the invite, and I just told her it was a creative way to "tell" her, so once she heard that she got it. DSIS is indifferent, as she's been the whole time So, hopefully as it gets closer, she'll be a little more proactive with everything, otherwise she's gonna continue to drive me bonkers!! Ah well, it'll fall together, just gotta stop stressing!!!

It's been a while, been focusing on the May trip, but had a light bulb come on with these dining issues for this trip. PLUS, DSIS woke up and started giving me feedback!! So, I'm taking some of it, explaining my point on others, and am gonna start sending her menus of places. That way we can work on this together!!!! Now if she'd just help make a payment, I'd be REALLY happy!!! Anyways, here's how it stands now...
Tuesday Sept 15, arrive, MNSSHP Dinner at O'hana at about 4.
Wednesday, 16th, Animal Kingdom, Whispering Canyon for Dinner, about 7
Thursday, The birthday...MK per request of Aunt Donna...Tony's for dinner. DSIS isn't sure about this choice, so we may look on the monorail line for something. We're tied to either resorts or MK for this one, since the Aunts will only have a one day one park pass.
Friday DHS then Epcot, we just went to Epcot about 2 years ago, so we may not want to hit everything here...dinner at Teppan Edo at about 7ish.
Saturday, check out day, do whatever park we wanna!!! No TS planned, since we used up all of our credits on dinner I don't think we're gonna rely too much on park hours, when they come out, we MAY take advantage of evening EMH's, but not mornings. DSIS isn't a morning person Anyways, off to send DSIS some menus!!!

YAAAAY DSIS Approved the dining plan that I made!! WOOHOO!!!! Plus, she chose Teppan Edo because of the Saki bombs? What the heck are those? If it involves beer, I can't do it, I'll barf!!! LOL I can drink beer, just not chug it. Anyways, I'm gonna email my travel lady on the dinner stuff, and estimates on times, and gonna have her add one to the ressie just in case we can add Chris to the package. I hope his schedule allows it!! Anyways, back to focusing on the may trip!! This trip is now 146 days away!!!

So, little update, DSIS got quiet again on the planning....and hasn't made a payment YET!! UG!! But, that's alright, stars are aligning just right, and I should hopefully have it paid off on my own by the middle of may, if not by this weekend.
Also, Aunt Donna, who's been helping quite a bit went in for surgery on the 17th of April, she's doing fine, had reconstruction done from a masectomy from 2 years ago. She also had her other breast removed so she wouldn't have to go thru the cancer thing ever again. She's doing good. Not much else to repot on this trip, just focusing on May right now! Once that trip is over, I can push ALL my attention to this trip!! YAAAY!!!

We decided to tell Ma NEXT weekend, gonna take her out to dinner to tell her, so I gotta print everything up this weekend. Not a biggie, I can get it all ready! DH found out he's not advancing June 1st, BUT they're letting him put ON the rank, just not get PAID for it. that's called Frocking. That'll happen friday. So not much else to report, other then we're telling her early. Yep, it's killing me!! HAHA Have a happy memorial day!!

I'm sick and tired of the rain now!! Looked like we were gonna get some yesterday, but didn't. So, we're gonna try to go out in the boat today...for a little bit. Yea, he's next up for the promo on July first tho, IF they make one! He's guaranteed to make it, it's just a matter of when. This way, when he goes to his new spot in Miami, he's already wearing the rank, so he gets the respect of that rank. This is the ONLY rank they "frock" them with, since it's such a huge deal. So, it'll come, just gotta be a bit more patient. I'll have pictures of that ceremony, that's on friday. Then Sunday, TELL MA!! I can't wait!!!! I can see it now....this is her reaction......First, VERY surprised, second, little upset that I spent that $ on her, third, she's gonna hug me until I bleed and fourth, she's gonna smack me cause I spent that $ on her!!! We are doing this at a restaurant, so we'll have witnesses. I'm paying off the trip on friday, so she won't have any excuses!!! Don't worry, I'll try to get pictures!!
