Have any of you had experience with this? How did you organize the surprise? How far in advance do you need to make reservations? How will the charge show up on the credit card statement? Any info would be appreciated...TIA!!!

I just booked the king experience for my husband and his brother for DH's 35th birthday. We're going to surprise him with the "experience" the morning of his b-day and and as an extra surprise, his brother is flying down and will be waiting for him at the drivers meeting. I can't wait!!! I think he's really going to be blown away.
I booked their experience for April 27 and they got the last two spots for the "king experience". You have to pay to reserve your spot, either with a credit card or they will send you the forms and you have 14 days to send back a M.O. for the payment.
I told them it was a surprise and they sent me all the forms in a plain white envelope.
I think your DH would love it. Check out the reviews on allears. :earboy2:

can you please explain to me the RP driving experiance, and how to reserve, costs, etc. ? My dh :smooth: LOVES Nascar, bikes :moped: , boats :boat: , etc. and I suspect this would be the highlight of our 1st DW trip. Thanks

I was going to do this for DH but I found out that there are some driving programs offered at the Texas Motor Speedway that would be a lot more convenient for us.

On our last trip to WDW, in 1999, my DH and DDad did the experience. They could not stop talking about it for months after the trip.

And the look on their faces when they came out of those race cars was priceless! Kind of like when your child gets a hug from Mickey or rides Dumbo for the first time. :earboy2:

Needless to say, we all felt it was worth every penny!

Go for it!

I had the very same idea to surprise my DH when we go in December! I know he will be psyched. One questions, do we have to book through AAA to get the discount?

Any other advice would be great!

Thanks

I just did this for DH in Feb. He knew nothing about it. The day before (his b-day) I had a gift basket delivered, themed Nascar, with a card that simply said "Be the driver..." It was the perfect hint.

I made the ressie about a week before we left. I just called the 800# (you can't book online). I mentioned AAA while making the ressie and the discount was applied. I was never even asked for my AAA#. The total for the Rookie experience (8 laps) was $322 and change w/AAA.

According to him, it was the best present ever! He said I outdid myself. Even better than his 30th, when I booked a stri##er for his party. (Crazy, I know, but we have a very secure relationship and it was a hoot!)

He is planning to do this again next year and tells all his buddies that it is a must do!
