DH & I will be taking our youngest DD (8) to Disney in December. I would like to have a few surprises for her each night when we get back in from the parks. I'm going to pack some gift bags and tissue paper so I can have it waiting for her when we get back - DH will occupy her in the gift shop while I set it up!

Anyway, I got some pins for trading, and a new pair of pajamas!
Any other ideas??? I thought of buying a little stuffed animal one of the days as a surprise.

We'll be there Dec 8-12 - so I only need a few more ideas! Any suggestions?????

We found a few small disney toys at Target on sale. And sometimes your dollar stores will have Disney items. We have found watches and videos recently.

What about a penny press book and a roll of pennies and quarters. DS has really enjoyed this activitiy.

Since it's so close to xmas, what about a Disney ornament for the tree? I'll just assume you celebrate xmas...lol...sorry if you don't.

Thanks for the great ideas!!! Yes, we do celebrate Christmas, and I never thought about an ornament!!

Thanks for the tip on the pennies too - I'll have to start saving my shiny pennies!!

I have been looking into the penny thing. The "experts" have said to use penny's BEFORE 1982, something about how they are made and that they do not smear. The new shiny ones often smear.

till they are bright and shiny! Peroxide, toothpaste and an old toothbrush will shine them right up! I soak them in peroxide then brush them with toothpaste then rinse with peroxide. Nice shiny and Look brand new. And the thing about the older pennies does seem to be true, just looked at my collection from last time versus my old pressed pennies and the new ones from last time are more smeared.

Have fun!

we are also doing pillow gifts for our children, some of which will be disney-type souvies but at dollar store prices... i.e. disney tee shirts from the disney store clearance ($5.99 instead of gift shop $19.99!), glow necklaces, those light up spinny things, a small stuffed animal, mickey/minnie pencils (for back to school after we return), and their final gifts will be a new cd for dd and a disney gameboy game for ds for the return flight home!

I did this for my two DSs last year and went overboard - video games, what was I thinking? Anyway, this year I did most of my shopping on disneydeals.com. I got some great deals on things the boys will love. I got them a set of remote control Buzz Lightyear cars, some Disney action figures, musical instruments from Philharmagic, etc. All of these items are new directly from Disney and I didn't pay more than $5 for anything. You might want to check it out since they are having a sale right now.

The great thing about these little gifts is that it means the kids aren't itching for souvenirs. My oldest DS didn't figure out last year that I was the one leaving them so he was really excited about returning to the room. He was 7 last year so I consider myself pretty sneaky! Your DD will love it -- almost as much as you like the look on her face!

I have been to WDW several times in the past, but our upcoming trip in April 2005 will be our first stay onsite (at the POLY). Leaving little suprises for the kids is a great thing. I am so glad that I read these posts because I dont think I would have really thought of that. The first thing I am leaving my kids will be disposable cameras. When we go they are always trying to get my digital camera, so at least this way they can take their own pictures. I have to say I have only posted a couple of times here on the DISboards, but I am HOOKED. Just can't seem to get enough. This is one of the best forums I have found on the web by far!!!

Target had disney princess and pooh and power ranger cameras (disposable) on sale a few weeks ago... they are a great pillow gift, and one of the things we already have wrapped up for our children :)

These are all great ideas! I can't wait to check out disneydeals.com!!

Thanks so much for all the ideas!!!
