Surprises Good and Bad!

Good- MuppetVision 3D- one of my favorites, Peter Pan was also a very pleasant surprise especially when you just ridden Small World and that song is stuck in your head.

Bad- Jungle Cruise, Spaceship Earth..

Good-Alien Encounter-My DS9 begged to go on this. I was afaid he would be scared. I really didn't know what it was, I had just read here that it was scary. Well, I loved it. DS said "never again".
I guess I should also mention It's a Small World. I have always loved it. DS and DD must ride it every time. They say it's their favorite. That surprised me. Even DH loves it!

Bad-Toontown. We just go to the Judges Tent to meet characters. We waited 10 minutes to see Cinderella! that was awesome! We waited 2 hours to see Mickey Mouse. I love the way you can visit with the Mouse alll by yourself in a little room, but I think there should be about 10 rooms, each with Mickey! The kids would never know there was more than one. Less of a wait that way!

When they take you back, you pass through a sort of foyer area that has several doors branching off of it (at least 4 if memory serves). Only one of the doors is open when you pass through.

Think about it... ;)

Good: Spaceship Earth (rode it for the first time when I was 8, and didn't know what to expect--we LOVED it!--and still do!)

Bad: Swiss Family Treehouse

You guys have given great answers...my wife and kids and I have enjoyed them all and gotten some good laughs! We definetly agree with many of you...especially ead79 and photobob! You guys mentioned Swiss Family Treehouse...which we thought was so stupid. It's like being herded into a subway....just keep movin'...very little to see!
And Jungle Cruise (I think someone else besides photobob listed it, too)...was also a disappointment. Probably very cool years ago....but not much excitement today!

Surprise - TTA - I first rode in 1993, and I think it's great.
Japan - Turned to be my favorite country.....

No disapointments....

Good - The Pooh Ride, ofcourse, I love Pooh, so that is a no brainer.

Bad - I have two 1) Alien Encounter, because after you experience it once, it is not as fun since you know what is going to happen. I mainly go now just to see Skippy ;)

2) Primevil Whirl - this wasn't anything like I expected, and came off of the ride with a headache AND stomache ache. Won't be doing this one again!

Good-Universe of Energy-much better than I thought it would be.
Also the Tiki Room Under New Management. As a child I truly loved this attraction and on my first visit in over 20 years I thought I would be disappointed with the change. I laughed so much and was very impressed.

Bad-this is not an attraction but a restaurant. We heard so much about the sit down restaurant at Epcot in Mexico, with the view of the Volcano. We didn't like the food, the cramped seating or the fact that it was sooo dark.

GOOD:
world showcase at epcot.
the "EPBOTS" street act

BAD:
dinoland
swiss family treehouse
Test Track( this is relative to all the hype over it )

Good - Splash Mt. I had skipped this several trips because I didn't want to get wet. I was expecting to meander a bit then up one hill and do the drop you see from the outside. I never knew it was such a long and greatly-themed ride.

Bad - I know I'm in the extreme minority on this one, but I didn't think too much of the Festival of the Lion King show. Maybe it was due to the hype I had heard about it, but I wasn't too impressed. It had a couple of nice parts, but some things (like the audience participation) seemed to drag on for me.

Biggest surprise would definitely have to be Buzz . . . so much more fun and creative than expected!!

Biggest disappointments?? A tie between Swiss Family Treehouse and Tarzan Rocks. (Does anyone genuinely make it a point to visit the treehouse??) Tarzan Rocks might be more enjoyable if you didn't feel deaf afterwards! Way too loud and it comes across as very un-Disney, IMHO.

Good was: TTA which was a real surprise. I also really enjoyed Buzz and the Safari!

Bad was definately dinoland. I also really thought that The living seas was HORRIBLE!!! Boy. i was like what is going on in here, which my husband replied NOTHING :)

Biggest negative surprise was Country Bear Jamboree-I'd heard that was a Disney classic and might have long lines, so I considered myself fortunate to get in with little wait. Boy, was I disappointed-"I wanted to see this?" Another one was Astro-Orbiter. After 9 trips to WDW, I'd never ridden this and was so excited that I was finally going to do it! Scared me so much-afterwards I was laughing/crying so hard! To this day, DH won't let me live down the "great idea" I had to ride Astro Orbiter.
I think my biggest positive surprise has been Animal Kingdom in general. I know it's not everyone's favorite-matter of fact, there had been plenty of negative posts (boring, half-day park, etc.). I only went the first time to say I'd been and to weigh in with an opinion. Well, I love it! DH and I could spend hours just on Gorilla Falls Trail and Maharaja Jungle Trek. And we swear we're going to run into the Griswolds on vacation in C&H Dinorama sometime.

Country Bear WAS a big disappointment. Our first trip down we didn't go because we heard it was lame...then last time we heard it had been improved so we tried it. Mistake....!!! One of our kids took a nap!

Wonderful surprises:
Had no idea that we'd enjoy Liberty Tree Tavern so much.
Off Kilter
Talking Trashcans
I really loved the Beauty and the Beast show.
Blizzard Beach!!! The kids were willing to give up a second day at MK if we would just go back!

Of course there were plenty of things we KNEW we'd like. ;)

Disappointments:
I enjoyed the story during Star Tours, but I won't subject my stomach to that again.
I must be getting old; space mountain jerks me around too much now. The kids get a kick out of my going with them, so I go.
Dinoland. I "get" that it's supposed to be a county fair atmosphere, but that's why we go all the way to Florida - to avoid that scene!

To everyone who thinks Tarzan Rocks is the worst show, I'm sorry to say your wrong. Not that I think it's great but the worst show of all time was The Jungle Book show. It played when AK opened. Let me tell you there is nothing worse than seeing a grown man dancing around in a diaper and sweat dripping down his body. It was awful!!!!!! Tarzan Rocks replaced it, and believe me it's phenomenal in comparison.

I liked Primevil Whril it was a lot more fun than I thought it was going to be. We all laughed the whole time.:p

Our family really was surprised at how much we enjoyed "Sounds Dangerous", "Cranium Command", & "Food Rocks" during our last visit and we've always been huge TTA & COP fans. "Journey Into Imagination" ( or whatever it's called today ) is positively awful. I know this is not at the world, but did anyone else have the misfortune to ride " Superstar Limo" at California Adventure ? Makes Journey... look like ToT !!!!
