Would like to hear from everyone two answers. The first...which ride/attraction surprised you in a good way?
And...which ride/attraction disappointed you?
To answer our own question....Tomorrowland Transit Authority was wonderful. We expected very little and barely knew what it was. (Not saying it was GREAT...but it provided a nice, relaxing, restful escape...and we walked right on even though the park was jammed at the time!)
On the disappointing side...all of Toontown. I dunno....just seems un-Disneylike...almost kind of cheesy.
Let's hear from you guys!

Good - Carousel of Progress - We never even realized this existed until our July 2002 trip . . .it was a pleasant surprise and we really enjoyed this attraction . . .Catchy little tune that will stay in my mind now . . ."It's a Great Big Beautiful Tomorrow"

Bad - The Re-Invention of Imagination . . .I really enjoyed the old version . . .the new one kinda left me blah . . .

Disappointing - DinoLand

Pleasant surprise - Buzz Lightyear!

Good surprise: Peter Pan's Flight -- we never went to WDW when our kids were really small, so we missed some of these 'kiddie' rides. We tried to ride them all this last time, and I thought this ride was so fun...

Bad surprise: Jungle Cruise -- I know this is a fav of many (maybe we just had a bad skipper...) but our family thought it was a dud. Something for everyone, I guess.

Can't wait to go back though!

Good Surprise.. Jungle Cruise-AT Night!!! I never cared for this ride and then I followed Birnbaum's advice and tried it at night..It was like 2 different rides. It helped that GI, our driver was hysterically funny!!

Bad Surprise...Not hearing the "Disney Music" at Xmas time. They played old XMas favorites but I yearned for Zip-A-Dee-DO-Da...

One of my favorite attractions has to be "Who Wants to be a Millionaire Play It!" It was awesome. The whole audience was a part of it. It is definitly a Must See!:D :) :bounce: :Pinkbounc :smooth:

Good Suprise: Muppets in 3D
Wasn't sure if it would be any good, and it was amazing, and having grown up watching the Muppets I left touched and happy, like regaining a part of my childhood.

Bad Suprise: El Rio Del Tiempo.....
Could that ride be any more pointless. I went to dinner with my parents at the restaurant where the boats go by and I was so excited to ride it that I went as soon as they were having their coffee. Man was I disappointed (this was in 1986). I'm pretty sure they haven't changed it......

Biggest Surprise: Buzz Lightyear. What a great twist on the standard "get-in-the-card-and-ride-around-the-track" ride. Our son didn't know who Buzz was when we visited WDW 6 mos ago, and now Toy Story is a daily occurrence around our house.

Runner-up: Kilimanjaro Safari. It's a sight to behold when the animals are pleantiful.

Biggest Disappointment: Primeval Whirl. Cars are cramped, and you spend most of your time slamming into those next to you. All-in-all, it was a bore.

Runner-up: Pirates of the Caribbean. I'm sure many purists would defend PotC to the end, but it just didn't do anything for me. I expected more.

Biggest Suprise - Carousel of Progress. When we did it first time, we didn't know what to expect but figured it would give us an opportunity to rest. That song still reverberates in my head. Unfortunately, we missed it last trip.

Biggest Disappointment - Dumbo. I couldn't ride it as a kid (grandparents wouldn't wait in line) and when I did as an adult I wondered why there is a line. Boring.

Good Surprise: Ellen's Universe of Energy. Quite entertaining... and Ellen, Bill Nye and Jamie Lee Curtis were a hoot!

Biggest Disappointment: The Living Seas... there is nothing to it. It is housed in a beautiful building, but there is little to it once inside. This one is in major need of a new attraction.

Surprise: The Land, didn't go in to this expecting much, but I found it to be quite neat (not to mention sitting in air conditioning)

Disappointments: Innoventions (seems more and more like a giant advertisement), and the maelstrom (stood in line for nearly 2hrs. and the ride was very boring)

Our biggest disappointment was Living Seas. We went in and after we went on the hydrolators, I kept saying "isn't there a ride....I swore there was a ride...whats the deal with the ride!!" I was beginning to think I totally lost my mind.

Our biggest surprise was how much we loved the Tapestry of Dreams Parade, which now will turn into our biggest disappointment, not having it anymore :( We tried to catch it as many times as we could when we were there, thankfully our last trip we were able to video the entire thing:)

I'm going back 25+ years on this one ~ but my biggest good surprise was TTA. I loved it as a kid and it's pretty much my fav now. I love relaxing and touring Tomorrowland.

Disappointed ~ hhmmmmm ~ MGM. It's such a small park with not a lot to do. dd loves it so we go often, but I could easily skip it. S

Bogdigg, you waited two hours for Maelstrom?! I can't blame you for being disappointed.

I have to agree about Buzz. I usually hate when they completely change an attraction, but Buzz is a lot of fun.

I hate Alien Encounter. It's too creepy for me. I didn't like Mission to Mars either, but I wish that they did something else with it.

I'm adjusting to the latest rendition of Imagination. It's a big improvement over the previous change, but my heart still belongs with the original.

Biggest surprise: Timekeeper. We often go in low-crowd times when this is closed. When we finally saw it, we found it charming. Not the best ride in WDW, but certainly one that snuck up on us.

Biggest dissapointment: Test Track. In talking to literally hundreds of people at the park, dozens of friends and family who've been, and thousands of messages on this board, I've decided I'm the only one who doesn't get it. But I don't get it. DW says that's what comes from learning to drive on the Schuylkill Expressway.

Bad - Sounds Dangerous at MGM

Good - may sound silly but I never expect to really like any of the films at World Showcase. But, I thoroughly enjoyed the France film.

For me the biggest suprise was probably Big Thunder Mountain--- I never go on any roller coasters and I loved every minute of this ride. I will head to it first on our next trip. I also loved TOD parade, I am very sad to see it go.
The biggest disappointment was probably the Jungle Cruise. The jungle cruise needs real animals, would be neat if they adapted a version of this at AK and offered a water safari. Also, what is with the smell in some of the older rides. Especially Malestorm and River of Time? They had a strong odor almost like old rotten water or something.

Good: Carousel of Progress after so many trips I just saw this last February!

Bad: Dinoland-too ugly-and the balacktop.

Good: The Great Movie Ride. After so many trips we did this for the first time on our last trip. It was a lot of fun.

Bad: Test Track. I can do this on the daily commute. No thanks.

Good-WDW I'm never surprised at Disney. I look forward to everything.
Bad-Tarzan Rocks- the worst show WDW ever produced.
