Surprised this review of San Angel is on wdwinfo. WOW. At least they are honest lol

I have viewed a few of their restaurant reviews because I was genuinely curious about them. Their review of Tony's Town Square was spot on with my own experience so I checked out the San Angel review. I decided not to eat there but primarily because of the lack of light in the venue. Also DH is exceptionally picky about Mexican food and has specific things that have to be good. I was not willing to take on the responsibility of making an ADR he ended up disliking. He still has four (yes four) Mexican restaurants he refuses to go to ever again and talks about how horrible they are to anyone who will listen. These are not chain restaurants.

Fwiw I’ve twice had a usually-delicious soup that on that day tasted like it was made with dishwater. Once at universal (where they told the chef immediately and brought out whatever I wanted to make up for it) and once last week at a local soup place.

Sometimes I think soup just goes wrong.

The DIS Boards and WDW Info are associated with Dreams Unlimited Travel. None of those entities are owned by Disney.

I wonder if they think that a TA works for Disney?

I'm not sure why you are perplexed. They give their honest opinions when doing reviews. Have you listened to the podcast? They don't have a fear of Disney when giving their opinions.

One can be honest and not be so tacky though. That was my point.

An honest review of a restaurant is always welcome, especially a bad one

I do agree, I just feel like they could have been more professional about it. With the way they were acting/talking I'd never want to do business with any of them.

I wonder if they think that a TA works for Disney?

No, I understand the business relations of DU, DIS, and WDWinfo. Been around here for a while now. Just worded it poorly.

I don't watch the reviews but they are travel agents. They don't work for Disney. No, I don't want to listen to the podcast.

it's just their opinion that this one restaurant was bad. I've never thought it was bad myself. Haven't gone in awhile though.

They're welcome to their opinion. They don't like one restaurant, that doesn't meant they are trying to tell people not to travel to Disney World.

I enjoy the reviews for their comedic value WAAAAAAAY more than I value them for their critique of the restaurant. Food is subjective! Like art. They've love things I've hated and vice versa, but I always get a huge kick out of listening to them...especially their bad reviews (and I tend to think they know a lot of their audience feels this way so they play it up for us when it's bad...and I love them for it).
