Surprised at what a CM said yesterday!

I had called to book a room only res. for POFQ Sept 10-Sept 20th 08.. and I had asked him if there was a reason I keep reading on my WDW sites that the Moderates are so booked and his comment was " I know! The Europeans and Canadians are booking like were having a Fire Sale!" he, said it's not only because they have been offered the Free Dining but because this is the first time in Years that their dollar is Par to the US dollar and better, which allows them to be able to afford trips to WDW. He said when our dollar was woth more we spent more time in their countries on vacation and now the tides have turned. Interesting...

DH made the same comment when we were there 2 weeks ago (well not in the same words). We were at the pool one day and noticed a lot of foreign languages being spoken all around the resort and parks while we were there. DH said there were probably a lot more international visitors right now because they can finally afford to come because of where the dollar is right now. Makes complete sense. Is very interesting though. I can remember when we went on our honeymoon 7 years ago to Canada and the US dollar was way up. It's interesting how all that works and how the trickle down affects where people go on vacation, etc.

Lisa, We are going next month to WDW and the DD and I were just saying I bet we will be seeing more of our European and Canadian friends..I Love to meet people from different Countries. Thanks Lisa..
