Today is finally the day that I have been waiting for for so long! We finally get to tell our DDs about their surprise trip to WDW!! I have had to keep the secret for 2 months and I have just about spilled the beans several times! I'm horrible at keeping a fun secret like this one, especially since I'm such a planner!

Our oldest will be 10 tomorrow. We are going to share the news via a letter from Mickey during her sleepover party tonight.

I'm so excited, I just had to share!!!!

We are suprising our children with our December/Christmas trip. I was wondering, when do you leave and what does the letter from Mickey say?

We thought we might do a treasure hunt the night before we leave and the treasure be trip "stuff".

Thanks for the information and it's so exciting to be able to tell! Congradulations for not "spoiling" the surprise!

DH and I surprised our 3 kids (ages 10, 5 and 2) last Christmas with a trip to WDW. This trip was their main Christmas present. We opened our gifts a week before our trip and the last gift to be opened was a box full of "clues". We included things like Minnie ears, a WDW brochure, and a WDW resort post card that had come in the mail. The post card basically said that "we're glad that you're coming for a visit to WDW". After reading the post card, the oldest two kids figured out pretty quick where we were headed over Christmas vacation! We captured their priceless expressions on videotape. It really was a fun way to tell them, and it was fun for them to have a few days to "help" plan for the trip, too.

Thanks for your replies! I'm happy to say that everything went well, and that they were very surprised and happy! Our 7 yr. old DD said she was planning to go on Rock-N-Rollercoaster and Tower of Terror for the first time! Our 10 yr. old wasn't as surprised, but she was incredibly delighted. She had it figured out the whole time...I don't know how, tho. The only time my husband and I talked about the trip was via email at work! We wondered if she had hacked into our email!! Just kidding.

We are going from October 4-12. I hope the crowds will be minimal at that time of year. I am praying for good weather as well.

I used Disney clipart and the card said something like "What's the happiest place on earth? Where do all your dreams come true? What happens when you wish upon a star?? Disneyworld, you say? Well, guess what?? You get to go!!" Anyway, it wasn't my best creative effort, but it was fun nonetheless.

Best wishes to everyone. I think the scavenger hunt sounds like a great idea! I made the card from Mickey during making cupcakes for her school b-day party and getting ready for the sleepover. It is 8:00 my time, and I'm going to bed!
