Surprise Trip To Dollywood

Thank you for sharing your trip with us, it looked like it was a lot of fun. Glad to hear you had so much fun with your grandkids. I love how your son is wearing his Disney shirt on the pics, a Disney fan is a Disney fan, even at Dollywood ;)

I really enjoyed reading all about your trip AR, all the fun you had, and special memories you made with your loving family :goodvibes. Loved the photos - such a great reflection of what a wonderful mother/grandmother you are, and what fabulous time your loving family always have together enjoying life to the max. :lovestruc

We love the Smokies and have vacationed there, so your homey cabin and trip to Dixie Stampede brought back many fond memories with our family :flower3:. Unfortunately we haven't been to Dollywood, but have met Dolly at one of her concerts, so would love to go one day! :)

Welcome home, and I hope Jesse's PS graduation went well - us grandma's are suckers for our sweet grand's milestones! xo'z

Thank you for sharing and so glad you had the opportunity to get away for Father's Day and make special memories to last a life time! :cloud9:

Thank you teacherlisa1978. The vote is still out as to had more fun, the grandkids or me. May just be a tie.

Thank you KristaTX. If you get a chance to go to Dollywood, GO. It is a fun place. The cabin was nice, except for one thing. My bedroom was right above the master. If I got up during the night, it sounded like I was in their room. No sound proofing at all. Other than that, it was wonderful.

Buckalew 11. Chuck and Karen go pretty much every other year. So maybe in 2015.

Thank you ilovepcot. I did have such a great time.

Thank you for reading E P C O T. The whole family are big Disney fans. We go every other year to Disney also. Our next trip is February 2014. We are already planning that.

Thank you 4nana. If you get the chance Dollywood is a great getaway. We did see Dolly years ago at her concert at one of the casinos in Atlantic City. We got the tickets as a surprise for Chuck's birthday. We loved her.

Jesse's graduation did go well. They sang a few songs and he got his diploma. I'll post pictures on my other thread.

Tonight is the graduation at his new daycare. It will be a long one. We have to get there by 6 and it starts at 7. I think it's a combination graduation of pre k and kindergarten. I am very excited to go.

I loved reading your Dollywood trip report!:thumbsup2 Your grandkids are very cute, and you sound like a really fun grandma!

We've taken many, many trips throughout the years and have covered quite a bit of the country, but we've never been to Dollywood or the surrounding area. Your trip report makes me want to visit that area, so I just might have to start planning a trip out there!

Grandkids are the best thing about growing older, and going on vacation with them is so much fun! I recently spent a few days in Disneyland on a "Gramma and Me" trip with my four year old grandson. We had a blast!

Thank you so much for posting your trip report!:)

I love your trip reports, Angelrose. And it sounds like you always have so much fun with your family.

Seeya on your other thread!

Thank you luvflorida. Dollywood is a fun place. Hope you get to visit there.

Thanks minniecarousel. I'll stop by there.

Thank you denisenh. I appreciate your posting.

Thanks for sharing. We were there 3 years ago and my dh gave me one day to explore, ugg. We were there for an awards ceremony. We live 12 hours away too, wish we lived closer.

Sounds like you had a great time.

Thanks for reading OhMari. I hope you get to visit there and really take time to explore everything there.

What fun, it sounds like you had a great time! It's wonderful that you enjoy spending time with your grandchildren. My kids have grandparents on both sides but no one really takes interest in them. :( because there are other grand kids who live nearby.

We just got back from a day trip to Gatlinburg, we went down to visit the aquarium. My kids love it. This is the first year in a long time that we didn't get Dollywood season passes. DH was thinking about stopping there for dinner at Aunt Granny's

Thank you for reading honeybunches. The grandparents on both sides, don't know what they're missing. I have so much fun with my two.

I loved Aunt Grannies. My mouth is watering for that meatloaf. Dollywood is really great entertainment.

Thanks for sharing! I've been dreaming of a trip to the Smokies and one day, we'll get there! :)

I loved reading your trip report! It brought back lots of great memories from our trip there last year. :goodvibes

I think I know the sock store you are talking about. Is it called For Bare Feet Only or something like that? If so, we bought lots of socks there. They are not cheap, but the quality is awesome! They still look like new a year later!

We loved the cinnamon bread there too. We brought a couple loaves back to our cabin and made French toast out of it. It was SO good and didn't really even need syrup on it.

It's funny that you mentioned the sausage sandwiches and the bakery at Dollywood. Those were two of our favorite things there. In fact, we just got back from Europe on Tuesday and we all agreed that the bakery in Dollywood was far better than the bakeries in Europe. They had the best cheese danish I have ever eaten in my life.

It was really a pleasure reading your report. You seem to have such a great attitude and didn't let anything get you down, even when it rained. Thanks for sharing with us. :)

I loved reading your trip report! We have been considering a trip to Dollywood and your report has bumped it up the list.

Thanks for reading elaine amj. The smokies are just beautiful. Very magical when it is covered in fog.

Thank you Jeafl. Yes that was one of the sock stores. The other is just called the Sock Store I think. They are very well made. I'm wearing a pair now and they are so soft. I know if I get the chance to go again, I will definitely be stopping at both stores again. That cinnamon bread is a great dessert. Karen warmed it up, put ice cream on top and macadamia nuts on top. MMMMMMM Even though they brought two loaves home, they were both gone within a week. It's just too good. All the food there is so good but so bad. LOL And I just wanted to tell you that I look forward to your Christmas present reports every year. :lmao:

Thank you swimnoid. I know you will enjoy Dollywood and the Dixie Stampede is so worth it.

It was great to read your trip report. We were at WDW this year, but are already planning a trip to that area next summer. We are doing a week long lake rental and want to go to Dollywood while we are there. Thanks for sharing We travel with my parents and are hoping to get DH's parents to tag along this year since it will be more there speed than WDW!! Nothing beats vacations with the family:goodvibes

Thanks for reading nugov2. This was my first trip to Dollywood and I will never forget it.

Now we are planning to go to WDW in February. Only 203 more days! Almost time to start packing. I love spending time with the family.

Sounds like you had a great trip, you got some nice pics with the family. Sounds like a nice place to visit, I might have to add it to my list of Vacations I want to take (it is growing, but I can't give up too many WDW trips, LOL so it will take a while to get to them all)

If you ever get the chance to go to Dollywood, GOOOOOOO! It is great family entertainment and so many things to do (and eat).

Thanks for reading mdmr2. I appreciate it.
