Help -
We are going to Disney in 3 days and Im struggling with how to tell my kids the news....I have heard a few wonderful stories and hoped you disers could help me out.
The issue is the plane leaves very very early in the morning...
So should I tell them the night before (and how to do it cleverly....and will they sleep through the night after telling them...)
OR do I tell them in the WEE hourse of the morning....thus probably not having the intended affect...but assuring that they will get some rest at least...
THOUGHTS...Stories...COMMENTS...THANK YOU! IM SO EXCITED. Never did a surprise trip before

Told him we were going on an awesome trip.
Finally, gave him his birthday card and told him we were off to disneyworld!
He was so happy, he kept telling us he would never forget his 11th birthday!

The last time we went, we surprised our two boys (they were 6 and 4). We left on a Friday after school and when I picked up DS at school (rather than let him take the bus) he asked what was going on. I told him we had an appointment we had to get to...but thatit was a little far away. We drove an hour to the airport and both boys fell asleep. They woke up in the parking lot of the park-n-ride and asked why we were there. DH said he was wondering if they would like to watch the airplanes for a while. They said YES! Then DS6 said "I wish we were going ON an airplane" and DH said "Let's see if we can..." And the next ting they knew we were boarding for WDW! DS (now 8) still talks about that! He hasn't forgotten what I tld him we were doing and what we ended up doing instead!
