Another upstate NY driver checking in. Went last year with my 7-year-old brother and I swear the license plate game kept him occupied for 20 of the hours. We wanted to see which state would "win."

If you can handle,


"What's that one mom?" And then looking, you'll be fine. Not to mention, by South Carolina, he/she will have most of the plates memorized.

We did that with our kids on a drive to Fla last year. We couldn't find North Dakota & South Dakota. But, we found every other state including Hawaii & Alaska! Go figure.

I haven't seen this on the thread yet- Scotch tape. My three kiddos would spend hours taping things up, paper, Rescue Heroes, etc.
Also pipe cleaners.
