My Mom (best mom in the world) just called and said she wanted to take me to Disney for a long weekend, just her and me. WOOT! Then she asked me to plan it! Double WOOT! Because she knows I love that.

So here's the thing. I'm up to my eyeballs planning my October trip (almost qualifying for a grand gathering on that one) and this is a completely different mindset. In October, we have several preschoolers with us. This one is just me and mom. We haven't been to Disney together since 1998 when we went to the Disney Institute. I've got the major details picked, but I am flummoxed for a few more "perfect" dining experiences.

Some things to know:
  • She is in her mid-sixties and isn't the best walker (although she insists that she won't need a scooter... just will be a bit slow). So we are trying to minimize walking.
  • We're only doing two parks (EP and AK), as that what she wants. No park hopper for her (I have an AP, but I don't think she needs to spend even more money for a PH).
  • We're staying at the Contemporary because she wanted to stay there. She doesn't want to GO to MK, but she does want to see the fireworks from the comfort of her room. I didn't object, of course.
  • She wants ALL TS with no character breakfasts. She loves to eat (as do I).
  • She loves red meat, but I'm not looking to kill her by only eating steak the whole trip.
  • I have DDE, so I want to stick to restaurants that participate.
  • Trip is mid-May (16-20)
  • We will NOT be renting a car and we're using DME
So here is what I have so far! Please help me fill in the blanks. Feel free to suggest changes or rearrange this!

What about lunch at Tutto Italia in Italy? I don't know if they take the DDE though as I have never had one.

Or San Angel in Mexico? There have definitely been mixed reviews on it and we didn't have our best Disney experience there a few years ago but the atmosphere is great so we are giving it another try this year for lunch.

Or maybe Coral Reef?

Wow, can't believe you're having a hard time planning lunches at Epcot :confused3 We always seem to have to spread our meals out to other parks/areas :rotfl: We've had good meals at Les Chefs de France, Rose & Crown, Germany and Morocco. If you want to leave Epcot for lunch, all of the Boardwalk area is available, Spoodles, Espn Club, Big River Brewery, or Beaches & Cream (great burgers, but feel free to skip straight to the ice cream! YUM!)

Sounds like a fun trip! Have fun planning :goodvibes

Oops, forgot to mention Compass Grille (?)-previously Yacht Club galley--We had great food/service there and it was very quick for a TS

Yeah... it's not a matter of not having ENOUGH to choose from... it's almost too much. And I'm trying to think outside my norm.

Beaches and Cream! She does love a good burger. Hmmmmm...

Hi, I would suggest you try dinner at CITRICOS instead of Narcoosees, since you have Flying Fish the next night. Citricos has an excellent Veal Shank and an excellent Filet. I have tried both and I usually only order seafood! Citricos is also more of an ADULT restaurant. If you time dinner right you can then stroll to the area in back of the GF and watch Wishes. Joan

I would suggest International CS for your 2 Epcot lunches. For us, 2 TS meals in one day, especially lunch and dinner, is too much food too close together.
We love the Cantina de San Angel in Mexico if it is not too hot. Sitting by the lake is pleasant.
We love the Tangerine Cafe in Morrocco and there is air conditioned seating. The food is excellent and the portions are large.
In October we had a nice CS lunch for the bakery in France. We had Ham and Cheese sandwich, a Ham and Cheese croissant, chocolate Mousse and an Eclair as well as drinks. It was very filling and very pleasant.
We have also enjoyed Harry Ramsden Fish & Chips in the UK as well as the Yakatori House in Japan (my least favorite of all my suggestions)
Have a Great Trip.
