Surprise ticket price increase today

More park-less Fort visits in my future I'd say. Or maybe down to one park day per visit?

I mean, Magic Kingdom is worth it ONCE and a while. But how many people can make the case that AK is worth $100 a day? DHS desperately needs an overhaul on Movie ride, IJSS is same ol' same ol', Backstage Tour is a shadow, and Lights, Motor, Action is "Been There, Done That". It needs a CarsLand or Star Wars Land immediately.

I still love EPCOT to some degree but it is sliding in the direction DHS. Some empty buildings, some in place for a LONG time. Even the live entertainment (which is why I keep going when I do go) hasn't changed at all hardly and I'm hoping for new things next month.

My three kids count as adults so for $500 per day the park has to SIZZLE. The reply could be, "Ed, comes less often" and that's true. But I think I'll achieve the same outcome when I Fort more and Park less.

Good thing I already bought my tickets for the stupid Magic Bands. That saved me $40.

PS - Already at the on-property resorts the rates are going up and people say, "but who pays rack rate any more"? But even the discounted rates I wouldn't pay (that's why I bought my camper).

I agree about the parks needing a makeover. This last visit we didn't even step foot in a park.

Denise, Congratulations on 13000 posts.

I'm not sure we will renew our AP's this year. Although they are a savings from daily passes, high prices are high prices. If we don't get there more than once, we are most likely leaving money on the table. Maybe a parkless trip might be in order, but even the Fort prices are getting too high. I hope the nuveau riche enjoy the Fort and parks as much as we did back when they were a reasonable bargain.

I just responded to a poster who joined one month later and has only 200 posts...since March 2008. I couldn't keep that quiet (obviously).

If you purchase ticket now through ebates/orbitz you will get 20% cash back from ebates. I did and saved $308 on our tickets.

So, last visit we spent one day at MK and 3 at Universal. MK was overcrowded and almost could not eat at quick service places, felt we wasted a day. Really enjoyed Universal, crowds were manageable and just a nice impression with their parks. Will probably go back to Disney to enjoy the fort, but as far as Disney parks, not unless the kids and grandkids show up and want to go.

That's what we do when we go on vaca. We stay at the Fort and go to the other parks, Universal, Aquatica and SeaWorld, maybe a trip to Busch Gardens. We do still shop at the on-site stores and have some meals at Trails End. Disney prices are just to much for 4 out of state residents.
