Today we were up early and breakfasted and on our way by 08.30. The plan for the day was Parc Asterix.
( You can hiss all you want we had a great day).
You take the road to Charles de Gaulle and then continue north. The first amazement came as we drove under the runway with an aeroplane on it. the camera was of course in my bag in the boot but it was facinating.
It is easy to find and we were there in about 30 mins. We were given the map on arrival which was the best park map I have ever seen. It was had covered and folded together so it didn't damage easily. We started on the right with 3 water rides one after another. DD then needed new clothes as she was sodden. (This is a normal event with us. She doesn't do cold and wet well and for peace of mind for all of us it is easier to buy her new clothes)
It had been raining and rained late in the afternoon but the weather was so/so the time we were there. After these rides the park filled up and we waited 1hr for every ride after this.
We rode the 2 big coastersone of which is wooden and one was metal with several horrible loops. I didn't like this one as it threw my head around terribly. It made Space mountain look like a gentle ride. I am nearly at the age that I will pass on Rollercoasters but I keep getting dared and go on them. ( we were in Tarragona at the end of the holiday and did the ride with 8 loops and the one which drops 100 metres.)
The last water ride was shut so we stopped for lunch. We then watched some of the shows and went game playing.
This is one of the things i am sad Disney doesnt have but I can understand why as it is a mega money drain. We won several ugly soft toys including a baby hippo but not an Obelix so we went off to buy one, plus some postcards for friends and scrapbooking.
After that we headed back to Disney where we had dinner in the Blue Lagoon. We had reserved which was lucky as they were turning away people as we arrived. This was ok but not as good as we had expected. The children had the teenagers meal (15 EUROS) which came with our starters. We had planned to share the starters between us but got to eat then as the children ate their main courses. The service was very slow. The waiter was overladen with tables and there was no way it could have been faster with the number of tables he had. The food was ok I had a surt and turf dish
and DH had a white fish,
cant remember which one which he said was boring. I liked the atmosphere very much, it is very pretty in the half light with the boats going by. We had the 2 deserts with the menus and DS didnt like any of them so he ordered sorbets and I had the joy of eating his pudding ( fruit salad).
We then planned to watch the fireworks but we were tired and wandered back to the car and drove home.
