Will be heading to the World next June with a group of 5 adults (who are kids and Disney princess nerds at heart)! I want to surprise them all with a splurge meal. I was thinking a buffet like Akershus or Spirit of Aloha since it's a firm price. The luau is a great thought too because alcohol is included. But would it be the best idea to eat outside in Florida summer heat?

Another option I was thinking was Cinderella's Royal Table, pricey but I think it would really WOW them.

I was also considering the Hoop Dee Doo show but I don't think anyone else in my group would be interested. And we are staying Poly so would prefer to eat there or in the parks instead of resort hop. We already have plans to eat at Be Our Guest for dinner one night, and 'Ohana for breakfast.

Any recommendations or suggestions?

HDDR is awesome. It is funny, corny and a great time.

Aloha can also be cancelled for ☔

CRT is indeed pricey, but I'm splurging on lunch there because everyone in my party really wants to go for the 'wow' factor. Several trips between all of us going, and we've never been! Akershus is another good option for the princesses at heart :) , or 1900 Park Faire at GF with Cinderella (outside of the restaurant, IIRC) and the stepsisters inside. I haven't been to either Akershus or 1900 PF, but they're on my wish list for the future. Good luck!

I second HDDR! So fun!!
Also 1900 PF for the character interaction! Hilarious

I'd do something totally off from what you're suggesting and pizza at Via Napoli. Ya'll can get some different pizzas and apps and walk right outside for wine/limoncello/beer. Just a thought. You'll have a great time! You know your party though, you know if they'd be ok with a dinner show, or a buffet, etc. not all people are but you'll figure it out! Cheers<3

True favorite Slurge is California Grill. It's pricey but is absolutely our favorite.

Hoop Dee Doo Revue

If the new Jose Andres tapas restaurant is open in Disney Springs by then, I would hit that. Tapas is way more fun with a group. Plus, he's a very well known and admired Spanish chef. I am so looking forward to it opening, because I love good Spanish, Catalan, or Basque tapas. It will probably be pretty pricey though. I haven't heard good things about the luau. If you really want to it to be more Disney, then try Hoop Dee Doo or CRT.

If you've never eaten in the castle, I would do CRT. Yes, it's pricey, but, IMHO, all Disney "kids and princesses" need to do this at least once. Make sure to ask for wands and swords!

If you want a cheaper, but still a "Disney" experience, I would consider Akershus or Chef Mickey's. Chef Mickey's food isn't great, but to meet the Fab 5 while seeing the monorail go through CR is classic WDW.

If you want a more upscale experience, go to Cali Grill. The food and service are great and you can see the EP, DHS and MK fireworks from the observation decks.

If you REALLY want to splurge - go to V&A!

We actually enjoyed the Spirit of Aloha - think it's much better than the luau we saw at Aulani a few months ago. Having said that, a luau is a one and done thing for many folks, including me. I have no interest in seeing another one.

Big fan of HDDR but if they want to see the princesses then CTR is the place to go.

The luau is one of those things you do once. It's not bad, but not great either. Plus 3 is the most drinks anyone will get. Possibly 4 if you're my husband. ;) I prefer HDDR for group fun and a set cost.
