Hey girl!! I know you're home. We want to hear a little bit now...and then a LOT more later! LOL! Tell us about how you ended up extending a day

HI all! I didn't mean to leave you all hanging here but things have been super, super busy since we got back on the 15th. You would think that a week from today is Christmas Eve... oh wait, it is! :lmao:

This was the MOST amazing trip for my family!! I promise I will start a TR when Christmas is over. That will give me something to do when the kids are playing with their toys.

In the meantime... Take a look back at the stuff in my PTR. We didn't do very much of the things we planned! :rotfl: We did keep all reservations, party days, PL, BBB... those kind of things but the park days were a little messed around. We totally wasted the money on Park Hoppers... Next time I will listen to all of you. :rotfl2: I think we only used them once or twice. We took over 3,000 pictures so I have tons to upload from the netbook to our main computer before I can get to put them on Photobucket for a TR.

I know the big thing every one is wondering... YES! WE DID ADD A DAY AT POP CENTURY!!!! I will briefly tell you how that came about. I am not a 100% sure of the schedule to I look at my notes but you'll get the idea. First I should tell you that before hand I sat down and I budgeted everything we had by category. There was a tipping category. The extra's such as PL and BBB and Tea Party where already on Disney gift cards so that was budgeted for. Our food was covered on the dining plan but I budgeted a little extra since Jon and I are big eaters and I NEVER expected it to be enough food (Boy was I wrong there! LOL). What was left I divided by the number of days we would be there. Each day had a envelope with spending money. Jon and I had sat down a few days before Thanksgiving and set the Christmas budget for kids gifts. We decided on an amount and that was to be stuck with (yea, right--more on that in TR). I know I said the trip was the kid's gift this year but I wanted to make sure they had somethings to open on Christmas morning. We had also decided that we would not be doing Black Friday shopping but rather taking that to get things for the kids from Disney. In the Christmas budget I never really thought to account that basically that was souvenir's that would be coming out of the general everyday allotment. (Have I lost you yet?) So a few days into the trip I get this idea that we still haven't spent as much as I had thought. I mentioned it to Jon and he just shrugs me off, thinking I am joking. So, I pulled the envelopes from the safe and discovered that we had at least 2 days worth of the budget that was never touched and we were no more than 4 days into the trip. We were doing so much better than I thought we would be. I HAD OVER BUDGETED! After much thinking about it we would still have a park day to use that day. And it didn't take much to call Jon mom's and have her change our reservations for their house. We went to the front desk and they told us they were booked solid to call the 407-wdw-???? number in a day or so. We called the Sunday of the Christmas Party and they were able to make us a room only reservation! We added an extra day. That is the short version. You will have to come on over, once I get the TR started, to see if that was such a good idea or not. ;)

One other thing that I will spill the beans about is... If you recall back to the PTR I stressed how this was a ONCE IN A LIFETIME TRIP for us. Well, after the first 2 or 3 days Jon and I were already trying to think of when we would be back. We DID NOT book a bounce back.. and I know some of you will think I am crazy being this excited but we are going back in 3 YEARS. This is a huge deal for us. I know, I know, its crazy to be excited for a trip that 1.) is not booked and 2.) that is that far off but its a HUGE deal to us! The thing that kinda blew me away is that JON brought this up and Jon has a rule... you don't talk about the next vacation till the one you are on is over! He broke his rule. We talked about how to make this happen at night when trying to get the kids to bed. We talked about how much we need to budget each month, in the good times and the bad. Heck, I even talked about selling plasma to get there! :lmao: (No, I am not going to do that) We also talked about needing the little trips in the mean time to keep us sane. We just waste so much sometimes. The couponing has really helped the last few months and our grocery bill has gone way down. He LOVED it as much as the kids and I did... and I really don't think he was expecting to! I know its a long time off for most of you who get to go every year but it gave me so much hope to hold onto when I was leaving the Happiest Place on Earth although, I must tell you the tears where flying when I left MK our last day! :rotfl:

Ok, So that should be enough to keep you going for the next few days. After all, I will be back after Christmas to start the TR. Keep an eye out. If this thread is still open I will post the link here and we cna keep using this for the next few days. If they should close it keep an eye on my signature!
